I’ve seen machines break due to incorrect operation and maintenance not done and I’ve owned stage 4 machines operating much higher rpm than usual that lasted 400 hours . It all depends on how you ride your modified pwc and this will determine the reliability thereof . Simply put a modified and stock machine lasts the same amount of time when operated correctly and diligently and properly maintained . I hope this helps to clarify , thanks for watching .
Whitney Mctopy you will have to remove the rocker shaft and turn the cam with the hand , then you have to replace the rocker shaft and tighten with new bolts .

literbikedoc all the oem chains are very good and do not break . But ... specifically 05 to 07 skis throw ceramic washers and they land right in the chain first and get crunched up by the crank chain gear leading to a chain failure . I have had turbo 2005 skis and rpm at 10500 with no problems on the chains . Ps - only use oem BRP chains there is nothing better .
It’s pretty much involved ... engine comes out crank case comes open engine split so that crank can be lifted so that old chain comes off and new chain goes on . Why do you want to swop out the timing chain with new ?

David Mcbride you going to do the same as in this video and start with lock the motor with the lock pins . You also need to remove the intake manifold because the one engine lock is under it as well as the tentioner release.

@@Redrockat I am at 57metres. The ski runs fine during throttle but it struggles to idle for a second and when it finally idles the RPM surges. In land the idle jumps from 1600 to 2200rpm.
@@Redrockat The supercharger was rebuilt 10 hours ago. Spark plugs and coil packs are new. I advanced the timing and the issue has improved (getting 125psi ) . At the moment there's a delay in the motor returning to idle speed after pressing throttle.
Hello I have a 07 180 challenger that runs too rich, vibrates a lot and runs very rough, changed spark plugs coils, voltage rectifier throttle body and some other sensors and still doing same thing, you think the timing has jumped in it, it also says low voltage on the dash but seems to be getting 13 volts all the way around please help
I don’t know the condition of the supercharger, how can I check that? And I believe the map sensor was replaced when I took it for throttle body get replaced
@@jhonatanramos4856 you will start with removing the air intake side on the charger and visually inspect the super charger impeller for rust and fatigue . Check if the supercharger impeller has tention on it . If it has no tention and there is no slip tention then the supercharger washers have broken . The timing can’t really just shift on these motors but your cam gear ⚙️ may have come loose so check that also .

+supremo 222 it could be the water pump ,but not likely. I would clean out all the coolant from the system ,flush the system then put new coolant . ride it like that and see what happens .

I have a head that wasn’t TDC when pulled and I was wondering how I could get the camshaft into time? Will it turn by hand? It’s a complete head.

Hi, my engine is still in the hull, how do I rotate the engine to line the cam up, so I can insert the locking tool? It is not supercharged. thanks
Liqidarts you just rotate the crank by hand the engine will turn until it is on the right spot .

After the rebuild I'm getting 100psi compression on all cylinders. Could this be a timing issue.
The RPM is also surging during idle
What altitude are you at ? Also have you ridden your ski yet ? What type of compression tester do you have ?

Hello ,yes I have had this problem before . It is your oil cooler that is suspected of leaking oil into the cooling system . replace tha oil cooler 😊
