I was medically retired from active duty a year ago. I was homeless for 3 months and got laid off from my new job after only 9 months, and I’ve been unable to get so much as an interview since I was laid off in April. I went to a professional networking event to whore out my resume to strangers and I got to talking to one guy for a while. He told me about the existence of the Unsubscribed channel, which I somehow didnt previously know about. So I’d say that the networking event was a pretty great fuckin success. Now I can laugh-cry while watching these videos instead of just cry-cry not watching these videos.
First episode I watched of the podcast was when you brought Nick on, laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair. Can't wait to binge some more of these episodes especially if Nick will be a recurring guest. (Also fellow Iowan here, I live in one of the biggest cities and it still sucks ass when ragbrai stops here.)

As a mechanic listening to Eli's story about his wheels pisses me off. The wheels being out should've been caught by the first or second shop, they clearly didn't road test it after balancing which is standard procedure. The second they were shaking after the rebalance the shop should've been checking for them being out of round.

The newer HMMWVs have AC, and sometimes they actually work good. Even the hard shell HMMWV leaks. Also, they completely changed engines when they started putting armor on them. They went from a 6.2L diesel to a 6.5L turbo diesel

That is the most accurate description of HMMWV changeover I've ever seen We still use the 2004 ones now....in 2022 And even though we have an entire list of shit to check off we basically do this 1. Does it turn on 2.do the doors stay shut 3. Is anything leaking really bad. 4.( hopefully) does the heat /AC work. Then you high 5 and go home
The only thing worse than the Humvee was the 5 ton and the hypnotic noise the tires made driving down the highway and the wipers that had to be manually operated when they stopped working 😂
