The Gerber Gator is a great workhorse. Walking through a suburban woods/park, I would carry my regular EDC, whatever it was for that day... A small folder, med/large folder, and a small fixed blade. If I am out in the woods, it would be two fixed blades, one small/medium and one large, and maybe a folder like a SAK or Spyderco Native 5. Have a good weekend, brother Isaac.
Great blade 🔪 about 20yrs ago I had a very similar situation happen to me. Couple days after a severe flood, went back to retrieve my tent 5 miles in dogs came out nowhere barking, my G/F got bit, I never found my tent, but we had a great dinner at a popular steakhouse after leaving the hospital
Isaac. Yeah for my local parks I have a small first aid kit and a small fixed blade and a couple of folders, phone, water, and my carry gun and small flashlight, and lighter. Feral dogs, coyotes, bobcats are all here as well as possibilities of rapid skunks so my handgun is a must for me. Plus a first aid kit. Noce hike and review, love the knife.
Nice knife Bro. I got attacked by some nasty dogs once. Lucky for me I had a stout wooden stick with me and hit the boss dog on the snout really hard with the stick and they all ran off. Lucky I had the stick as it could have got really nasty if not. A blade would also be ok. Make the boss dog hurt and the other dogs run. Bad news if the boss dog gets hold of you though as the rest will follow suit. Cheers Dave 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
What do you think about the carry pouch that comes with the Gerber I like it and works for my carry needs. I also venture out with a good walking stick to give me some distance from any threats that you my encounter out there. If you get a chance look at the fixed blade drop point full tang Gerber hunting blade I just bought this one, a wise man once told me you can never own to many knives.
man i wish there was woods around here and i see a lot of the higher end gerbers doin really well ive got a couple walmart gerbers and they were crap tho lol you cut one thing and the edge was gone other than that tho they seemed to hold up
Yes I agree with you. Gerber Gator was Bear Grylls choice on many occurrences when filming earliest seasons of Man vs Wild. Hey by the way, since I know you like the Buck 110 (who doesnt like the Buck 110 ???), have you heard about the story of Gene MOE ? He killed a Kodiak bear with his last ditch weapon, a Buck 110. Not kidding ! Cheers Mate
Bear Grylls was the very reason I bought my first Gerber Gator about 15 years ago or so. Yes sir, very familiar with the story of Gene Moe in fact I was planning on telling the tale in an upcoming video on a series I'm doing called Knives With A Story. Here's part 1 of the series I did last week ua-cam.com/video/Xi2Gvn_YDb8/v-deo.html
Wild dog attacks? I don’t think you know anything about the Balkans. There’s actually a lot happening over there right now and it’s not stray dogs. Your walk through the park makes me sad. At least you feel like a tough survivalist. Keep walking.
The old school Gerbers are awesome, love 154 too.
Solid stuff 👍
Good knife and hike Isaac , have a great weekend , thanks for sharing , God bless brother !
Have a great day!

I tossed the pouch. I like just pocket carry. A walking stick is always a good choice. That's right never too many knives haha

Well this video was specifically about a dog attack so there's that
