I Thank You very much for showing the difference, now I understand. I could spend hours and hours to see you working - I love all the sounds. You are a real artist Dave. Thank you very much !! Very best regards, Esben, Denmark. 🇩🇰🇩🇰

I appreciate that and thank you so kindly and thank you for getting enjoying on my channel it deeply appreciates that I am only a hand Carver or a tool Maker or whatever if I can get a rock I will carve within I have I have a lot of years of doing this I am not perfect I don't ever consider myself perfect I just do something that I love to do thank you again have a blessed day
Dave I really love your carvings and let’s carve attitude. I have been carving for 13 years and wood burning too. I carve cottonwood bark working on a few different ones right now.
I'm doing my first cottonwood I was gifted a piece of cottonwood from a lady that came to my shop the reason I never carved cottonwood is it has been so expensive not too good to sell in my business I try to sell things that people can afford but I have fell in love with cottonwood I wish I was around somewhere where I could harvest it myself I watched a video on a guy in Canada the pieces were amazing I wish I was there and I mean amazing Thank you for subscribing to my channel
I just use scrap if we're talking about the same thing so you can carve on your lap whatever I got out there I use scrap I have different lap boards I use for different styles of carving thank you again
Yes I can come up with a board whatever I'll show you how I make a spoonboard what I use it's kind of rough but I use it quite a bit I will come up with a video and produce it on my UA-cam channel thank you for asking
Yes handmaid is the best when you can make something and give it to a family member are you sell it to somebody as long as they take care of it it can be handed down through generations that's the way I grew up I built with my love my soul and my heart but God gave me thank you again
The 2 bows that I showed in the video was some really bad basswood it was not worth hand carving so I turned them into bows and what I use is about everything if it's free I use it but there is some words that you should not use in spoons and wooden bowls but these bows are just gonna be for use of non-liquid food I hope you understand mainly these bows were used for breads In stuff like that I'll have to do a video on the wood that you should use for wooden bows the best wood that I can't get is Birch where I live at I can't find no Birch I wish I had some Birch cause it is the best
@@whittlerdave1440 Yes I have trouble geting good woods here in TX too. I have to order my basswood and for spoons and untencels i try and find green wood for that but very hard since we here in TX mostly have pine trees and in my area in the Dallas fort worth area we are in the city so that makes it harder too.
I have friends that bring me wood logs from different parts of the United States that's pretty lucky I know I have sapili cherry walnut persimmon I have a friend of mine that's supposed to try to get me some Birch his Birch is very hard to get
I have to order my best wood we used to have a carving shop here in Tennessee where I could buy bass wood but the internet pretty well destroyed it so now I order everything
