I honestly loved the idea of Dracula falling for Agatha, I was shipping them hard like two minutes after they first interacted lol. I was so excited for episode 3 being set in modern times too, but was really disappointed!
Claes Bang and Dolly Wells are amazing actors and perfect for their roles and they had SO much chemistry and potential, but the writers messed up imo.
The last episode made like no sense lol, I personally would have made Agatha come back as a vampire and develop more of the relationship between her and Dracula instead of spending half of it in a nightclub and focusing on that other girl(forgot her name).
They tried to fit too much in at the end, it would have needed like at least 8 episodes! I wanted so much moree!
But the first two were still really good so I made this, I might delete it later, this song is beautiful but hard to edit!

That line makes me cry. I thought the ending was really beautiful. Normally I hate anything where the “good guy” dies (discussion for another day lol) but I don’t think the series could have ended any differently. They were connected. Both had to go. Together. ❤️

I really like how the main characters weren't young, you know, they were both adults, and beautiful in their own way, instead of them having a youthful untouchable beauty.

An actual life I found friends of mine in their late 60s early to mid 70s falling in love all over again and it’s beautiful and just as real as anyone in their twenties to 30s etc.
She in a way helped him overcome his fear off dying, he was clearly captivated by her from the start and as soon as zoe started talking like agatha his face lit up. Her smile at him when he watched the sun light and then him killing her and himself by drinking her blood and the dream with the two of them loved it. Shame the series ended so quick ❤️❤️

Like honestly I don't think he died. For reals. He drank some of "dying blood", but Zoe drank some of his. So it'll all probably even out. Agatha's soul was in Zoe's body, when she died. So probably Zoe's body will become a vampire after all the Dracula biting and drinking his blood. BUT it's Agatha who is stuck in the body. And Drack will be learning to be more one with the world, while failing miserably and eating some people. While Agatha will try to remain good, but fails. And then at the end Drac shows her the sunlight, they become good together for about a good five minutes or so. And Season two wraps up. IN season 3 they take down the harker foundation. The end. Or they just dig out Agatha from the sea and wing it. Who knows.
I love that the final “dream” was the forbidden for both of them. Her, an intimate connection with his soul. And for him, the light of the sun embracing them.
I think he loved her---as much as Vampires "love." He told her on the boat before the explosion that she had come closer than anyone else (which had a double meaning--closer to killing--and also captivating him). The series was rushed especially at the end---too many unanswered questions. I loved at the end when Zoe's accent changed and she became Agatha. The two antagonists were back together, she was in pain, and he now understood that the secret to his life was figuring out how to overcome his fear of dying. The love scene at the end was appropriate as he could give her a dream, but the dream included him, with no disguise. It represented what might have happened if he was mortal. Still, I would have liked to see these two together over several seasons. So disappointed. Claes Bang just set a bar for vampires that demolishes the competition.

Can't stop watching these - the relationship they have is so unique, and though it is (supposedly) not romantic, you can feel the tension between the characters. Incredible acting from Claes Bang and Dolly Wells 👏

Not sure why this series was so poorly received - maybe because it's a too new angle on an old old story? The ending made up for the first half of E3.

I have found a little something that many might have noticed as well. So pls bear with me.
Dracula got Agatha on board the ship Demeter under the alies of the wife of Mr. Balaur. Eventually we get to know that 'Balaur' stand for 'dragon' which is also the meaning of 'Dracula'. Therefore, we can conclude that Dracula considered Agatha as his wife/bride and he indeed loved her. Maybe he didn't realise it until the end.
i love this bond between them, but i found the ending is beautiful. don't know why, but i love that there is no romance, it's about fear and misconceptions about yourself and the world. it's was nice, refreshing and so different from the common interpretations of dracula

I get that we all love Dracula’s 'revelation' and how Agatha helped. but was no one else entertained just by how chaotically cute the two were? There were moments that even Dracula seemed curious what Agatha would do next, and she was either unwrapping his issues or calling him on his BS. I could have watched three more episodes of just that.

Honestly, I don't think this needs a second series or anything like that. Yeah, it felt really rushed especially during the modern age and some of it did feel sort of out of place (at least for me). But, I think the ending makes up for most of it and ties up the whole 'Count Dracula' thing and all his fears and rules pretty well...

I would give anything to watch their romance rekindled in the next season. I think the fact that they are arch nemesis because they understand each other completely also makes them the perfect lovers. Also, just how damn compatible are Agatha and Dracula!! I slightly have to disagree with your views on the third episode. I was actually quite pleasantly surprised with how they dealt with the Lucy Westerna part of the book, I thought it was too crucial to be left out, particularly in the series where it took a modern Lucy to reveal Dracula's truth. I was hoping it would resemble closely to the book throughout, so I was a little disappointed that it took very little of the actual plot, but overall I was really impressed with the show. I think, perhaps, to appreciate episode three, maybe one would have to have read the book, it couldn't have gone anywhere else but to Lucy as it kickstarts the main plot. I was taken back though by episode two, how they made the entire episode based on such a small and practically insignificant moment in the book, they did it really well though.
Love your edit, too. I couldn't help but ship them the entire time, I knew it had to end with them being together in some way, whether that be friends or partners, but I wasn't sure if the writers would have actually taken it into that direction. I'm pleased they did. The actors have undeniable chemistry.

I liked it too. Another season? Agatha/Zoe will return as a vampire. Dracula will revive from his "suicide". Remember what he told Johnathan in the convent when Johnathan had staked himself? Vampires can't commit suicide. Someone else would have to drive in the stake. He knew her blood was toxic, but did it to stop her pain from the cancer and give her a "new" life. So, he'll come back from it.

Not just because of the bloodline, but because she was bright and not afraid to speak her mind, not to mention totally unafraid of him. He was so gentle with her in their final moments. He was in the crook of her neck arm and leg around her to keep her close. And she with her arms around him. A beautiful death

Love this video 😍 love their bond, the danger and the forbidden lust. I didn't like episode 3, but mainly for the boring teenager stuff and the unlogical storyline. It's like everyone is suddenly ok letting a killer go. I mean believe in vampires or not, he still shot the girl on the beach. Also why let him that close to that police girl in the first place, if he is so dangerous. Lots of stuff made no sense. Many loose stories within the overall story. Loved the ending though, but I think staying in the former timeline with Agatha would have been better.

I think about this video and song at least once a day. The song is very ethereal and suits Dracula so well. I agree re episode 3, I loved how the character of Dracula was portrayed in the first two episodes but the final one felt cheap. I’ve never seen an entirely faithful adaptation of the book and I wish that would happen with these actors, having said that I loved the gender switch of Van Helsing. She was an equal match to him. The actor who portrayed Dracula was excellent. Beautiful video.

I always find it difficult, how often we romanticize toxic relationships in movies but in this version it was okay for me. Since they never portrayed it in a she´s in love with him way. Her entire way was to try and stop him. To tie them together like this adds to the mythology and that´s why it´s okay to let it end that way. In any other scenario I´d find it wrong but here it has its own beauty. Plus, complicated relationships like those are simply more fun to watch in a story ...
One season is enough. No need to pursue that disaster.
