I see the song as losing a loved one when they die. Like, the moment they sing of is the life we have here on earth, in the woods. And the city is heaven. And like, the loved one… when they fall asleep they pass away. So he’s asking the person to please stay just a little longer, for me. We only have this moment (as believers) once in our whole lives. We are only on this earth once , let’s enjoy it, stay alive with me to continue to enjoy it. Do leave just yet.
Jars of Clay have always been my "go to" music when I wanted to listen to good music with no desire to hit the "next" button. It was great to hear some of the history of how some of my past and future favorite songs came to be. Thanks for these videos!
Never had a piano ballad? Try Silence from THE ELEVENTH HOUR... sure, it had a drum machine loop, but it was definitely mostly a piano ballad. One of my favs from the band.
