    Great vid! Very useful! Just a note, you don’t change the angle of the blade by manually pushing the wheel left and right. You push the wheel in and rotate it to the desired angle on the scale. It runs on the small black teeth above the wheel. Adjust far more easier this way!

    I got one. The fence is not great and the dust extractor went in the bin. But the saw is brilliant for the money. I love it. Great review BTW :)

    I have this model and agree that the fence is absolutely rubbish. Getting it parallel is almost impossible by just sliding it, you do need to measure front and back. You do need to put a false fence on it that does not go past the bottom of the saw blade gullet at bench level, as is required by HSE regulations in the UK, this will limit the chance of kickback.
    I am very glad that you did not remove the guard and spoke highly of the dust extraction by keeping it in place, I would also like to say it is also there to help prevent your hands coming into contact with the blade and should never be removed, (whatever our American friends say ).

      Cheers Gary, yep totally agree. Been using it again this morning, might need to rethink the fence!!

    I bought one of these a couple of months ago and I must say that dust extraction on it is quite poor, even with two shop vacs working,as for the fence it may need adjustment , the throat plate is strong but because of doing angled cuts its wide at the blade and thin slices of wood goes in plus it would be difficult to make your own zero gap throat because its thin platting one is hard to copy unless you are a metal worker, so that said good powerfull motor and like you said a good blade keep safe mate not a bad review

    Would have been nice to hear the motor. Is it loud?
    Does the fence slide back so nothing jars against the blade while cutting from the left hand side?

    Bought [partly] on the number of teeth on the blade?! Eh!?
    Blades with all sorts of numbers of teeth can be bought after-market. In fact, my hand-held circular saw came supplied with 3 blades of different t.per " and I swapped out the standard blade of my chop saw to an all-purpose blade which cuts ali and mild steel like softwood.

    Just bought this item and very pleased with the price and its performance..only issue is some back and forward play with blade on the motor.
    Has any else noticed this and is this normal. I would appreciate any feedback..thanks

    I'm pretty sure once you loosen the bevel lock, you push hight adjustment wheel and and turn it to get the correct bevel angle.

    you should focus on more important things - angle of the blade against the guard (90 degrees after change of a blade for instance), if guard is straight (all measurements same at the whole length of the guard against the blade), used materials (plastics x metal) etc...

    Can this saw cut rabbets? Can the riving knife be lowered with the saw?

    • @LongSlenderNeck
      @LongSlenderNeck 4 роки тому

      You could nibble out material to get your rabbit using the blade, however you can't fit a dado stack as this is an EU model. The knife is lowered with the saw.

    I have it and I hate it. Absolute hunk of junk that is currently upside down on my workbench broken once again. I wished I had listened to advice and saved for a cabinet saw. I’ve got another year of saving then I’m going to buy myself the Axminster saw.
    I wish I’d bought the Titan saw from screwfix so at least I would’ve spent £99 on a cheap saw instead of 250 notes.
