Having painted up a large brigade of Dutch-Belgian troops for the 100 days war I wanted to get them on the table for a Black Powder Napoleonics game. Great fun!

Ok Dom (and everyone else) So, setting the scene here in Sydney on Christmas Day and Santa has given me covid. The family have buggered off to the Outlaws for the day and I'm here on my own....with a 55 by 32" screen, control the remote and several forms of medication along with your batrep. Not bitter!!😊

The Dutch-Belgians really punched above their weight class and earned a solid victory, managing to give a French division a bloody nose right in front of Napoleon. I'd even say that they were a notch more effective than the Brits, especially the chasseurs and those hell for leather light dragoons.
they certainly seemed so. The Brits just wouldnt get moving enough to play a significant part
Great game Dom, great to see the Jaegers in action, a great looking unit and delivering, much better than mine usually manage. Keep the 28mm Napoleonics coming……helps me deal with my withdrawal symptoms……just about to have a go at some 28mm cavalry but leaving them unbased I think to help them survive the return……have a great new year
They did perform pretty well! You'll be back to 28mm soon enough I guess

Thank you for keeping company on Boxing Day morning while I paint and build models. You missed a few rule things, but I suspect you are suffering from playing too many rule systems and getting them confused. I know we do that all the time. Great game though and it is good to see the Dutch Belgiums on the table. Mine are near the top of this years to do list.

I have always thought that the hard time that bijlandts brigade got from most british commentators was almost in revenge for the good showing that they made at Quatre Bras- certainly for raw troops.
@iso1333 they were certainly left exposed to artillery fire for some considerable time. As raw recruits its amazing that they stayed there as long as they did
