Guys! Should we just do a whole segment on Whitney Houston?! Lol she has so many performances that I haven’t watched that I want to watch and react to! I mean, the voice, the performer, etc. Whitney was THAT GIRL!
I told you, lol. She is the greatest. Even during this time when her voice was declining due to all those concert performances, television performances, cigarettes and drugs-she knew how to give a phenomenal performance. This is why I tell people, with all those issues, Whitney still used her instrument far superior to any other female artist. She literally sat on this stool and poured out her soul and took us along this journey. This song was presented to her way before she recorded it. The studio version is great but as we all know when Whitney sings a song live, she doesn’t want you to hear the album version. She was going through so many personal issues...hence her saying “you make me wanna.....you!!”. She may be gone, but her voice will live forever. She’s the greatest..she’s The Voice.
Alexis Samone Now you have to react to her sing I Am Changing (it’s just an audio). She will blow your mind--and yes it’s 🔥 🔥 🔥. ua-cam.com/video/FvWdnimqgeA/v-deo.html
Her voice wasn't declining you're mistaken and lastly she didn't start really experiencing issues until around 2000, she has heart disease and was being run into the ground by the record industry and even around the time when she last performed before she passed away her voice wasn't gone at all her vocal cords was absolutely fine it was the cigarettes and drugs by then but had she quit and took a break worked on her vocals she would've been back at 95%, her vocal coach came out and told the media this but Clive Davis was the one pushing her to go on another tour when she didn't want to, he lied telling her if her time was up if she didn't. Whitney actually wanted to move out the country with her daughter to retire for a while. Had she not been pushed to keep preforming she likely would be here because the criticism she received after her last performance was too much on her mentally the way the media and fans dragged her.
@@violetsrayreikishop2 Show me where I said her voice was gone? I never once said that at all. And if you was smart enough to comprehend what you read you’d know it was indeed the truth. The fact that by this time Whitney’s voice was on the decline. It was around 1996. Whitney had been in at least 4 world tours, thousands of television performances, a couple of HBO tv specials, multiple awards show performances-she had been singing for YEARS. Her voice wasn’t at its peak like back in 1986-1994. She still gave stellar performances however she was not able to continuously belt out and sustain those notes as she once did. Add in the fact that Whitney also smoked cigarettes so by this time she had been smoking at least 10yrs which hurt her vocal chords. You act like I’m so prepubescent UA-cam person but let me tell you I was well into my college years when Whitney debuted so I was around from the very beginning until the end loving her, buying her music, seeing her films, astonished by her voice. She is the greatest vocalist of all time, there was nobody who used their instrument (her voice) like Whitney used hers. She has no weaknesses in her vocal abilities during her prime.
Whitney was going through lots of pain caused by Bobby at this time and this song was so real to her. It's amazing enough that she could get through WDIHSB without crying!
Not just bobby she had miscarriages back to back for a few years leading up to this because of the industry as well, they didn't give a damn about Whitney she would probably be here in Clive Davis evil ass wasn't pushing her to get back in the industry on tour too, I wish she had took Micheal advise and got rid of Clive Davis.
Alexis: This is one of my ALL time favorites right here! Every break up will find me playing this on repeat with my Hennessey in hand & Whitney's ballads ameliorating my soul. I know it sounds redundant & cliche but she killed it. And yes, you have to use that growl sparingly, but when Whitney went there, it was everything.
SHE KNOCKED THIS OUT OF THE STRATOSPHERE. PERIODT. You're drained, as are we, because she took us on this painful & emotional journey w/her. I've played this so many times through the years that both of my original vinyl copies are now white!

Hamza Boukaroua it’s not going to hurt it initially but any vocal coaches and a speech therapist (whom I’ve unfortunately had to visit due to my vocal polyp) has stated that continued use of growling does affect the design of the vocal folds. Just like coughing and clearing your throat. A growl is not something done via diaphragm which is only used for proper breath control. A growl is a modification done with your throat.
Hamza Boukaroua but great advice though. I do growl during my performances. It has to be done right in order for it not to hurt your voice or make your throat sore, so you are right about that.
