- The performances in this video are ranked according to the level of skill, versatility and role transformation each actor displayed. To me, accuracy when making a Top 10/Top 100 all time list is extremely important. My videos are not based on my own personal favorites; they are based on the true greatness and/or success of the person, place, or thing being ranked. If you guys would like to view my other Top 10/Top 100 lists, feel free to check out my UA-cam page and/or my IMDb page at "ChrisWalczyk55."
I see Marlon Brando is in his rightful position at #1.
Wheres Mr. Heath Ledger for his Joker Performance....no honorable mention at least?
@G Galeno amen
My top 10 acting
1.Jack Nicholson (One flew over cuckoo's nest)
2.Marlon Brando(The Godfather)
3.Daniel Day Lewis(Gangs of Newyork)
4.Al Pacino (The Godfather)
5.Robert de niro(The Raging bull)
6.Leonardo DiCaprio (What's eating Gilbert grape)
7.Heath Ledger(The dark Knight)
8.Tom Hanks ( Forest Gump)
9.Denzel Washington (The Trainor)
10.Dustin Hoffman (Rain Man)
In my opinion
Philip Seymour Hoffman has the Best performance of all time in Capote
Robert Duvall in Tender Mercies
Ledger and Di Caprio are good, but not in the top 10
And Denzel in Training Day is purely overacting
Daniel Day Lewis has definitly had better roles then Gangs of New York
Peter O’Toole in Lawrence of Arabia… George C Scott in Patton, and I would certainly add Meryl Streep in Sofie’s Choice..
I think you have only watched 20 movies!
i think you watch cartooons
Tom Hanks - Forrest Gump
Cristoph Waltz - Dr. King Shvultz..?
Heath Ledger - The Joker
Heath was Good but not That good
Shultz was not even the Best Waltz's performance
Hanks is Better in Castelo Away
Ricardo Correia 1.Heath was amazing!?
2.vI, personally loved Waltz's performance as Shultz
3. And I dont know.. Hanks as Forrest probably isn't one of my favorites anymore but I still think he portrayed Forrest very well.
Heath was amazing but I dont know it is strange
Philip Seymour Hoffman deserved the Óscar for The Master, not Waltz
Heath was amazing but I dont know it is strange
Philip Seymour Hoffman deserved the Óscar for The Master, not Waltz
Ricardo Correia fair enough :)
Edward Norton in anything
I think this is the first list of best acting performances where I don't see Heath Ledger
Best all-American male actors of the last 30 years in blockbusters... maybe.
Y u angry
Every one of you have great movies listed. This is a difficult list to make , simply because of the vast array of genres. It's just simply too subjective. Having said that... I do believe Brando deserves #1. I also believe that it's a fairly one sided list ( I'm a moderate male btw). Ellen Burstyn in "Requiem For A Dream" is about as good as they come.
Daniel Day Lewis is the greatest actor of all time
Maybe . maybe not
Probably the greatest actor of his generation but I would put Nicholson and De Niro above him
+Ramsey Brown I honestly don't know what is so great about Nicholson. I think he's very good, but I always see him being listed as the greatest actor of all time, and I just don't see it.
Funny, I hear people say that from time to time. I think its just opinion. He gives very big performances (as does Pacino) so its very easy to give them much credit, but there is often a very menacing truth to Nicholson's performances, and very iconoclastic. I think having immense truth in your work coupled with being stylistically iconoclastic paves the way for being a top tier actor.
His performance in My Left Foot was far superior to There Will Be Blood (hell, he was even better in Phantom Thread).
where is al Pacino from scarface
Trolling right?
@@AndrewSmith-zv3py hes a legend so he is not trolling
Edward Norton's performances are 1000 times better than Russell Crowe's gladiator. Oscar doesn't define an actor.
Oscar is the definition of defining an actor, with that being said not winning doesn't define you as well becuase some years multiple people deserve the oscar, Russell Crowe in my opinion is one of the greatest actors of all time and portrayed one of the greatest performances of all time in Gladiator.
still a very wrong and bad list. at least this time you included marlon brando's performance in the godfather but still what about his performances in on the waterfront snd a streetcar named desire
At least he left out Mutiny On The Bounty.
where tf is heath ledger???
1. Pacino in Godfafher II 2. Nicholson in Cuckoos Nest 3. James Stewart in Vertigo 4. Brando in On the Waterfront 5. De Niro in Taxi Driver 6. Pacino in Serpico 7. Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society 8. Liam Neeson in Schindler's List 9. Anthony Perkins in Psycho 10. Anthony Hopkins in Nixon
"Of ALL time"???
Errr, I'd have dicaprio in what's eating gilbert grape at no. 1 though, hopkins in shadowlands, streep in (just pick one).....
Al Pacino - Scent of a Woman should be on this list.
No, it was not a deserved Oscar
And I love Al Pacino, but it really did not
Russell Crowe??? Really???
So Marlon Brando literally talking a normal conversation is better acting then Heath ledgers joker who literally told bale to beat his ass and was laughing psychotically while it was happening? He became the joker, it's a shame how someone can thing a conversation is better acting
You know nothing.
+Ollie Raderecht Heath Ledger was great and should be on this list but Marlon Brando is at his rightful position, his performance is easily the best of all time.
+Ollie Raderecht I'm not saying it was bad, it was great, but I'm sorry nothing beats heats ledgers performance
+Jesse Julian Ok, but I'm saying nothing beats Marlon Brandos performance.
Two huge problems with this list male acting performances only and there isn't a single performance from anyone prior to 1972 the Godfather.
Meryl Streep, Alec Guiness, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, Orson Wells, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford all have performances better than most of this list. That sais I agree with your number 1 and 2 they clearly belong on any list of all time performances, but would put DeNiro in Raging Bull as the greatest ever followed by Meryl Streep in Sophies Choice and Brando in the Godfather.
Pacino as Michael Corleone was a top 10 performance.
Top 3*
Top 1
Nah,top 1
Jamie Foxx as Ray is the greatest acting performance of ALL TIME and you dont have it in your top 10 ???????????????
It should read..male actor performances. Who can match Meryl Streep in Sophie choice , out of Africa etc. Kathy Bates in Dolores Claiborne. Barbara in the way we were etc
This dude made a list of top 100 actors of all time.. he wouldn’t give a single black actor even one 5 star rating. I’m never about this but a lot of the actors he rated with 5 didn’t do half as well as Denzel Washington or Morgan Freeman.. just kind of shitty..
I would suggest you to watch more filmes of real actors and not hollywood dolls . Albert Finney,Robert de Niro,Richard Burton ,Antony Hpkins,Al Pachino ,Sir Gilwood John. Katina Paxinou, Anna Magniani,Vittorio Guzman,Marchello Mastroyanni , Bruno Ganz, Vanessa Rendgreive,Burt Lancaster, Homfrey Boggard,Jerard Departieu, Jack Nicholson, Alan Beits,Charlotte Rampling, Elizabeth Taylor,Ingrind Bergman,Katherine Hepbourn. You ll find your top 10 list among actors not stars
This is a great list, but your spelling is horrible.
yes because my mother language is Hellenic which is based in logic and not in memory
Damn this list is even better than the last one!!! And finally...got some Brando! Great job on the list man, seriously great job!
So Marlon Brando literally talking a normal conversation is better acting then Heath ledgers joker who literally told bale to beat his ass and was laughing psychotically while it was happening? He became the joker, it's a shame how someone can thing a conversation is better acting
Are you claiming that the crazier one acts the better the performance? It's about being truthful. Ledger's Joker was phenomenal but you can't say that Brando gave a worse performance. They are two different roles. Besides these clips are just clips. The ranking is based on their performance in the movie as a whole and the clips are just examples from those movies.
that from denzel is fantastic if there will be the joker it wil had been a good list
this is nothing without Heath Ledger!!
I Really dont se that Brando has no great accting at all, otherwise, you must be a Classic hater
i dont like there will be blood..
PS Hoffman in Capote has the Best performance of all time
James Stewart doing the Filibuster in Mr. Smith Goes To Washington & James Dean's like first 5 mins in Rebel Without A Cause
Leader and antony Hopkins
Robert De Niro-Taxi Driver ??
Where is johnny depp for sweeny todd,,,,best performance ever
not even close to best
The first one you can just see Terry Cruise in the background lol
So?
Ddl at 7? He's got 3-5 performances that are your top 5. Watch cinema bubb. Tom Hanks with Gump is fuckin hilarious even being considered, Mr Brando.... Can't really argue.
Al Pacino -Godfdather II
Carlo Batisti -Umberto D
Humphrey Bogart-Casablanca
Daniel Day Lewis- There will be blood
Peter Sellers- Being There
Toshiro Mifune-Throne of Blood
Marcelo Mastroianni- Otto e mezzo
Jean-Paul Belmondo-Breathless
Robert De Niro- The King of Cpmedy
Robin Williams -The fisher King
i think de niro should have stayed at number 1...that performance is the best i've seen
their legions of famous actors who point to either Olivier or Brando as the greatest of all time.who says Daniel day Lewis is the greatest?....nobody!...only fans who don't know anything about acting!...thier are no other names who get mentioned like these two!....do your research!!! know what your talking about! nuff said!!
A good collection, but so many are missing as is always the case with list like these. No hate from me.
But,
Humphrey Bogart as Rick in casablanca
Edward Norton in American history X
Orson Welles as Citizen Cane
Omar Sharif as Dr Zhivago
Training Day wasn’t even Denzel’s best performance. He was far superior in Malcolm X, Glory, and Fences.
No actresses? Passion of Joan of Arc? Monster? Fargo? All About Eve?
Dubious start with Denzel in Training Day... Let’s see where this goes.. lol..
Laurence Olivier and Brando r the two greatest actors of all time Pacino deniro Hoffman Nicholson would say that Brando's the greatest. Charleston Heston said on Larry King live Olivier is the greatest actor of the century Marlon brando is the greatest film actor of all time and the best actor that has ever come out of America.I'm sorry these actors ledger Washington Hoffman font compare.I've never heard day Lewis called the greatest by anyone who knows acting....do your homework people!
Brando is most certainly the best actor ever, his performance here with Vito Corleone was for me my favorite for personal reasons, his On Thee Waterfront and Streetcar may have been all around better, but he is the very best, followed by as you say Olivier.
Are you kidding Daniel Day-Lewis is considered to be one of the best actors and that is evidenced by him having won three Best Actor Oscars. No one else has won three. Not even Brando. That doesn't make him better, but you can't say that he is not one of the greats.
Daniel Day Lewis is indeed to be mentioned with these two, as is Deniro and Hanks, maybe even Washington, but my thought is that none of them are as good as the two I mentioned. BTW Lewis in, "There Will Be Blood" was outstanding, to me his best performance yet.
Not a single woman...?
An absolute crime that you didn't put Clara Bow in your top 50 female actresses of all time.
Al Pacino - Dog Day Afternoon
Watch Jamie Foxx as Ray and tell me if there is any actor in the world who could play that roll even half as well!
Nice job with the update, what did you just have a Brando cramp, any list of best acting anything should start with him.
Marlon, nº1. But the best Tom Hanks is the monologue of the Mamma Morta
A Streetcar Named desire with Marlon Brando? Roberto Benigni in Life is Beatiful?
better list...still no women?
Why should there be? It’s “best performances" not “we make a list of genders”.
Johnny depp-fear and loathing in las vegas.... Nuff said
y’know female actors exist too
I liked you're previous list better. It seemed to me to be more accurate.
No women in this video or your previous version
Where is Day Lewins in my left foot?
not to mention how can you even think of puting robert's performance in ranging bulls in number 2 hes performance doesnt even make honorable mentions in my opinion
Are you smoking something dude? Are you for real? The greatest performance in the history of cinema, should be number one...
I like this one too. I love Russell Crowe.
Leonardo Dicaprio in The Aviator! Let's get real.
lol
DDL #1 no question
Take de Niro out. Just a Pacino and Brando wannabe.
You seen Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Godfather II, Goodfellas, Casino?
@@furniture674 remove Goodfellas and Casino and add the deer Hunter
You can't beat Denzel in training day that's a classic
+sahil prakash I think Denzel in Glory is better.
+Rollo Tomassi agree, he over acted in training day and has had many better performances. And I still love him in Training Day btw, he was awesome in that.
10. Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will Be Blood)
9. George C. Scott (Patton)
8. Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight)
7. Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump)
6. F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus)
5. Jack Nicholson (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest)
4. Gregory Peck (To Kill a Mockingbird)
3. Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs
2. Marlon Brando (The Godfather)
1. Robert De Niro (Raging Bull)
Your opinion is cool, but there’s some things I’d like to say about a few choices..
Rain Man was great, and Hoffman was terrific, but I think time has shown that the truly phenomenal performance in that film was Tom Cruise.. Raymond doesn’t change, Charlie does.. Same with Hopkins, it was Foster’s performance that was legendary, IMO.. Same with Nicholson and Ellen Burstyn..
Just a few thoughts.. And check out Lawrence of Arabia and Peter O’Toole’s performance.. Because it doesn’t get better than that..
Agree Tom Cruise equally great as Dustin Hoffman, hoffman’s performance was mostly Oscarbait but it’s considered to be one of the greatest acting performances.
Also De Niro and joe Pesci are dynamite together both share the screen with great chemistry and acting
Such a subjective thing to have a top ten. IMO, Training Day isn't even Denzel's best performance. Russell Crowe in the Insider is a much better performance than Gladiator. How do you pick Daniel Day Lewis best performance. He has so many. Also, you screweed the pooch, when you included Gump. Worst movie to win best picture.
What's even more amusing on this list is he has several of the same films on his modern list. But he has Joker as Number 1 on his modern list above There Will Be Blood. But Joker is at the bottom of this list well below Daniel Day Lewis. Its clear this guy is young and hasn't seen enough films yet.
