It's funny that someone uses the "Jewish lens" and completely ignores the Old Testament. Jesus did not come to start a new religion is true but he did not come to say all paths lead to God. Jesus is the Jewish messiah who came to redeem the Jewish people and the whole world through his blood. We are grafted into the chosen people of God as we serve the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

@@loretomazzola403 well we should be doing what we are called to do in Romans. Also I would encourage you to check out One for Israel. They are a ministry of Israeli Jews who believe Jesus is messiah and are sharing the gospel with their fellow Jews. A lot of Jews are coming to faith in Jesus as Messiah because of their ministry among others. Not all Jews rejected Christ. At the time of Rome destroying the second temple there were approximately 1 million Jewish believers.
11 “In that case, I say, isn’t it that they have stumbled with the result that they have permanently fallen away?” Heaven forbid! Quite the contrary, it is by means of their stumbling that the deliverance has come to the Gentiles, in order to provoke them to jealousy. 12 Moreover, if their stumbling is bringing riches to the world - that is, if Isra’el’s being placed temporarily in a condition less favored than that of the Gentiles is bringing riches to the latter - how much greater riches will Isra’el in its fullness bring them! 13 However, to those of you who are Gentiles I say this: since I myself am an emissary sent to the Gentiles, I make known the importance of my work 14 in the hope that somehow I may provoke some of my own people to jealousy and save some of them! 15 For if their casting Yeshua aside means reconciliation for the world, what will their accepting him mean? It will be life from the dead!

We really have only two options.
One, I save myself by adding my good works to Jesus Christ's one-time offering of Himself, to attempt to appease God. This is obvious in Roman Catholicism, and somewhat less obvious in most of so-called Protestantism.
Two, I humble myself to accept Christ Jesus' free gift, knowing anything I may attempt to add is a slap to His face.
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us... Tit 3:5

Common sense reveals that even Progressives don't pick up their favourite author and redefine the point being made; so, why are they doing this with The Bible? Such a double standard illustrates a lack of self-awareness and delusion. In light of Scripture, that is the only explanation I have.

Fundamentalist Christianity is about power and control while offering its adherents a sense of eternal security. You see, the great allure of fundamentalist religion for its followers is that by simply believing the right things, they get to go to heaven. But the allure for its leaders is even greater. For, if you know all the answers and thereby possess the keys to heaven, you have the power to control others, to bend them to your will and your way of looking at the world. I continue to witness this trend taking place throughout the world not just with Christianity but with every other religion as well. Its an angry and desperate response by Christian fundamentalists who continue to witness the death of Orthodoxy and the emergence of Secular Humanism. Jesus would be glad to see it happening, because he was a Humanist who launched serious verbal attacks on religion and its depravity.

Appreciate A. Childers clarification emphasis on the historic “biblical” explanation of the gospel. But she makes the classic mistake when describing the fate of the un-repentant in the afterlife; of assuming the eternal punishment torment view...instead of just saying John 3:16 (which alludes to those who do not believe and repent as simply “perishing” not necessarily the traditional view of nature of Hell) This assumption is part of the prob. that may lead un-believers to reject the “good news” because of possible manipulation of threat of eternal torment. There are actually two other historical & “biblical views” that actually have greater weight of Scriptural backing than the E. Torment view (the traditional view that Augustine & papal system gladly postulated because of its convenient use to control the masses). So the good news looks kind of manipulative...Jesus: “Good news, if you believe you rcv heaven because I love you, but if you don’t well then I’ll torture eternally in hell”. Is that really what Jesus included in his good news?????

Modernist theology rebranded itself as Progressive Christianity and jumped on a few bandwagons. Alisa Chambers sees through all its deceptions.
Francis Schaeffer at the end of his life talked about the need for social and economic justice, so perhaps conservative Christians were too slow to speak about these issues. The liberal-progressive churches do good work, but they go badly off the rails on a number of moral issues.

Christ began his ministry with, “Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.”
And to simply add, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.”
And this: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

What all of these social gospel folks miss is that God already declared a guilty verdict on this world and that the only hope is His righteousness by faith of Jesus Christ
They are running down a path thinking that maybe we are not that bad. This world that they think they are going to save is the world that crucified the Son of God.

That's the crux of it. Thankyou. Elsewhere I posted this.
Satan like any of us, can only give what we have.
Satan only offers deception because it aligns with its own rebellion and offers self glory rather than when it was an angel who was to lead worshipping angels to worship and glorify God Almighty in heaven, BUT instead Lucifer stole that worship and lead then to worship him. Consequently a third of the angels with Lucifer/ Satan that moment heaven enacted an ejection.
So Satan can only give the
'''' love of self''' to his followers.
BTW by default all humans are in Satan's camp, until / unless we choose Jesus deliberately to become our Saviour from deception, and imitation love.
Jesus asks us to Love God, then self then others as you love yourself.
It's a living sacrifice to put God first, then self and others.
Satan has revenge against God because He lives humans but not it. It has been rejected and ejected, and that's why the default followers - blind to the fact- (who are not decidedly Satan worshippers who have made a choice) are often reported suffer with rejection and ejected from mainstream, and find their only recourse is to make it law for them not to be rejected or ejected on earth!
However this still does not solve the eternal issue of rejection and ejection etc. It's an inherent trait of Satan - its reason to have and the fall from God in heaven.
Even when the rule of Law on earth is in place to the favour of those fighting back from rejection grounded in spiritual matters this is not a blessing. It might be a victory with in the confines of earthly systems where Satan was banished to but it's not a blessing from heaven.
It's merely playing the systems available to us but blessing remains elusive and always will for anyone who runs from God Almighty.
God's spiritual laws must be honoured in order for blessing to be lavished on us.
Jesus the primary sacrifice memorialised every Good Friday is called good for a good reason. Cos Jesus agreed to leave heaven to play 1:1 with Satan on earth. The epoch battle of all times.
Whilst among humans for 33yrs he was demonstrating how we the people can use heavens power to over come Satan's ills and behaviours etc. He did this while he donned a skin boundary - a human body to identify with us all the way.
Then that Holy spirit power was poured out after His death, so we could/ can overcome temptations too, etc. ( Continuous spiritual development).
But for each soul to access the power and person of Holy Spirit we need to first sacrifice our selves! by surrendering to God what is God's, eg the desire to glorify God only ( eg Ten Commandments) not turn the spotlight on self or any other idol or person dead or alive to glorify / worship them .
That surrender begins at the deadly / murderous/ sacrificial cross we are reminded of annually during that passion week that many call Easter.
We must look to the saviour who died in our place. Purity for the impure.
    Jesus was born to die.
Reason being was that He was/ is the only human (Emanuel) who had unblemished blood, whilst all others have blemished blood.
Our blemished blood resulted from the original Sin,and we are the spiritual carnage since that curse of Sin on the human race.
No human escapes the polluted bloodline we come from in Adam and Eve. Which spiritually bonds them and us to the Father of lies bloodline - by default because of Adams blindsided rebellion ( he listened but did not obey God, so he crossed over God's only boundary) and through Eve's misadventure and deception.
No one can have a spiritual blood transfusion to remove the sin factor except through being a living sacrifice, as mentioned, being born again if you will which means we become Christ centric.
Jesus Christ the sinless sacrifice is available 24/7 until Judgement Day - a limited time offer for salvation.
Salvation from the Sin cursed nature we bear spiritually, and forgiveness of personal sins we've committed comes through asking Jesus Christ the one and only with the pure bloodline to SAVE us as a Saviour does. Being a living sacrifice means we don't die it due to our sin nature which is rooted in deception.
(Christ's oure bloodline was ensured - despite Him donning skin - by being encased (as a growing Human) by Holy Spirit to be divinely fed in a virgins womb - so no sperm was involved nor umbilical cord do no polluting sin nature was passed on via any sin blemished DNA or blood . Christ was God in nature and pure.)
This master plan was laid out because God loves humans. He wants us to align with tis truth and see us FREE from all antics Satan's revengfulness will bring as as pawns to hurt God and to undermine Gods power in love.
Love, faith and hope remain in the power of God. They are like God's hallmark. So hold onto these and God will meet you were you are at.
Satan can only imitate them and deceive humans. Which essentially screws us over again and again, because we as human before the curse of Sin, were designed for Gods purposes. Glorious purposes with generous love, holy faith and adventurous hope were no doubt the norm in the Garden of Eden before deception robbed their God centric world. ( John 10:10).
So with all the screw overs & with humans under a curse of Sin resulting with thanks to Satan's deception and evil jealousy of God's love, but, humans are also prone to negative feelings and self absorption, self pleasure etc by default eg negative feeling that can engulf us include disillusionment, disappointment, rejection, sadness, suicidality etc etc etc - thanks again to Satan's inability to be a role model in how humans are made to love God and recieve Gods love. Nor can Satan, the Fathers of lies, lead us to the throne room of GRACIOUS peace where God governs all things. Where as Jesus is the opposite.
Jesus being God who was sent to earth, to die for our sins, is the gateway to God's unconditional love, and can secure eternal life eg freedom from hellish experiences/ emotions for eternity. (Read that again).
    That's worth surrendering for.
He not only adorns us with saving grace and promise of eternal life but access to the heavenly Father's purpose for our God intended life.
    That's love.
    That's life.
    That's Gods gift.
    That's grace.
    Amazing Grace.
We get to choose amazing grace, eternal life with love joy peace goodness kindness etc flourish.
It's a choice available to all humans, this side of Judgement Day.

The word faith by definition is tinged with uncertainty. This is fine for individuals because people at some stage during their lives start to think and question their beliefs, well most of them anyway. But this same rule does not work for religious institutions , Churches or even groups, specially if they are keen on marketing themselves to unbelievers or people who hold secular values. Doubt doesn't sell, certainty does. Telling people to have faith and believe in something because you or a Church does so is similar to how a door to door Vacuum Cleaner salesman operates.

I think you have a point and I agree somewhat. If we just look at the apostles' actions while they walked with Christ, they had plenty of doubts early on, despite confessing a faith in Christ (and leaving everything to follow Him). However, as time progressed and they continued to walk with Christ, their faith was strengthened...they became the people who we see in Acts. :) Doubt is a natural reality of faith. It's what we do with those doubts that counts. I bring them to the Lord and we work on them together....whether it's putting in the study (to understand better) or something else.

    (1) What happens to anyone that breaks God's first 2 Commandments? They become entangled with lies and become deceived. (2) There aren't too many things as evil as faith, hope and love if you are hoping or trusting in the wrong things. (3) There are many that say their bible is the inspired words of God Almighty and I think they might be somewhat right. But, why would God allow real truths to be mixed with Lies? To try, test, teach and prove people and make us think, that's why. (4) Everyone has a religion, it's whatever they preach, teach, believe and do, that is their religion. (5) All of the world religions are perverted and evil even if they have many godly truths in them and many fancy satanic lies. (6) Most bibles in this world are kind a like the Tree of Life that God made. The tree of knowledge of good and evil, truths and lies. (7) True worship unto God is following God 10 Commandments and The Golden Rule. (8) All of the world religions break God's 10 Commandments and The Golden Rule and are Perverted. (9) God's Golden Rule is, don't do anything to anyone, anything that you wouldn't want done to you or your family. (10) All Christians have been deceived. All of them break God's first 2 commandments. (11)There isn't just one Satan / Devil or Fools there are thousands of them all over the world. Satan / Devils and fools love to mix their lies with God's real truths. And most of them love the nasty blood sacrifices. (12) God has never asked or commanded for any animal, child or human blood sacrifices. (13) All of the man god stories ever written are lies and so are all of the sons of god stories. (14) Fact: God has no name, sex, form, image, throne, father, mother, son's or daughters. But, God has created everything and everyone and God will save all souls someday after we have lived and learned and repented of all our sins. (15) The words ( Nature, Mother Earth, The Trinity, The Christ, The Son of God, an Eternal Hell Fire, The Virgin Birth, Evolution, The Holy Spirit, you have to Die, The Moon Landings ) are all Satanic LIES. (16) It's really all God's creation and God controls all of the Weather, Droughts, Plagues, Natural Disasters, Earthquakes, Governments, Armies, Blessing and Curses, Wars, Sickness and Health to all people. (17) God is a God of the here and now and gives to all what's Right and Just. (18) God isn't only a God of peace and love, God is a God of wrath and judgement. (19) It's also a fact that the King James Bible is a godly and satanic Jewish and Roman Catholic Bible that's written in English. And if you don't believe me, go online and get you one and read it beside the K.J.B. to see where it came from. (20) As for me, I don't want or need any Savior, Intercessor, Messiah, King, Queen, President, Ruler or Teacher other than God. (21) Jesus knew about the Jewish Christ Lies and said it in Matthew 24;4-5 and he was very right. (22) Jesus was one of the first Antichrist and probably the only man to really follow God's 10 Commandments and The Golden Rule. (23) I am also an Heretic and an Antichrist, No false God's or Saviors for me. (24) If anyone believes all that their Doctor, Lawyer, Mother, Father, Preacher, Husband, Wife, Best Friend, Teacher, Government or Bible says are foolish and more than likely will be deceived. (25) And if anyone can Prove me wrong on what I say. Please do.

You preached the blood of Christ. You preached the resurrection. You preached the sweet fragrance of Truth. We are bad. Jesus is good. We were hellbound. He saved us with his blood. We turn from idols and acknowledge Jesus as the Lord our God after believing the gospel.
The goods news is we have access to God and are sealed with his Spirit until our body dies. Jesus made that possible. Jesus saved us with his obedience and with his blood.

What she seems to labeled "progressive Christianity" is nothing new and can found through out church history going back to church fathers like Origen, Julian of Norwich, the Rhineland mystics, Erasmus, Renaissance humanisms, the Quakers, Tolstoy, Reinhold Niebuhr, MLK JR, Dorothy Day, and even aspects of C.S Lewis because of his love for pagan mythology, drinking, rejection of Biblical literalism and fairly left-wing view of economics. There was also Mother Teresa's famous "I convert you" speech which got her into trouble. All these people lived Holy lives.

Your version says "are being saved" which is wrong. You're saved in an instant and you're either saved or your not. The modern bible version you're using changes the doctrine of salvation, to make salvation a process, which it's not. The devil's favorite attack is to change God's word. The Bible version issue is not some minor issue; it's the mystery of iniquity at work now in the churches. The only Bible in the English language today without mistakes in it is the Authorized King James. The modern versions are authorized alright, but not by God.

There's defo better translations than the King James, if you're talking about a translation that is a representation of what was originally written. I'll pick up NASB or Interlinear before I even think about KJV. If you like KJV, great. But the goal is to understand what the original text is saying. Through textual criticism, we know that the original Greek/Hebrew is accurate today, with at least 99% certainty. I trust the original text b/c we know that is what was originally written. If you like KJV, make certain that you're studying the original Greek or Hebrew as well. That's best practice for studying, regardless of the translation used. This is made easy today with great tools like biblehub.com.

The Six Line Grecko ROMAN Narrative? McClarin doesn't understand either ancient Jewish culture or ancient Roman culture. The first premise of the Gospel (that God created the world good) goes against the hellenistic philosophies of the Romans in the first century. They believed that this physical world was bad, evil, and gross, and that the spiritual world was good and clean. This is why so many people had a problem with Jesus being fully God and fully man. How could God take on flesh? For flesh is gross. This is why Marcion of Sinope said that the Jewish God was an evil god who created the world, but Jesus was from the good god to save the evil world his opponent had created. This is why the Gnostics said that Judas was freeing Jesus from his earthly body by betraying him. This is why Arians said that Jesus was elevated to godhood (not God incarnate). The Jewish mindset was that God created the world good, and it contradicted the hellenistic worldview of the Romans.
Of Jewish culture, yes, modern Jews believe that our purpose is to create the best society we can, but that was not ancient Judaism. If anything, it is the result of Talmudic Judaism that stimmed from the Pharisees after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. as a way to figure out how to practice Judaism without the Temple, -which was necessary for sacrifice and worship.
Yes, Micah does say to "seek justice", yes the last of the Noahide Laws is to build court houses for justice, and yes, Isaiah does warn of Israel's neglect of the widow and orphan, but these are not social justice. The idea of ancient Judaism was not socialism, -it was that people should deal honestly with one another, not forming factions to war against each other. It was people rejecting the social pressure in unjust ways. Exodus 23 gives this really well: "Do not spread false reports. Do not help a guilty person by being a malicious witness. Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd" (1-2). Liberals may have a problem with verse 3, "Do not show favoritism to a poor person in a lawsuit", and conservatives might have a problem with verse 6, "Do not deny justice to your poor person in their lawsuit." You might broaden this out: "Don't show favoritism to the black man or the white man." "Don't show favoritism to the Republican or to the Democrat." Justice does matter very much to God, but God's justice is different from social justice. God's justice is genuine and unbiased.
But the main theme of ancient Judaism was that God is holy and man is sinful. Nevertheless, God calls us into relationship with Him. He is the Covenant Making God, who calls us out of our sin and to be His people. And when we answer the call of God, humble ourselves, repent of our sin, and worship and honor Him, then He will save us and forgive us of our sins, as described by David in Psalm 51. But if we harden our hearts, indulge in our sin, and seek to honor ourselves, then He will give us over to our sins for wrath to build up upon ourselves, as described in Romans 1.

    Revelation 7:17
For the Lamb at the center of the throne
    will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’
We are born again after we CRY TEARS OF LIVING WATER .
John the Baptist was recognises the voice of one CRYING in the desert.
    Romans 8:15
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

What is the gospel? That is a good question. What is the gospel of the KINGDOM of God? It believe the being born again is just the beginning of the Gospel and Kingdom experience. The Blood does seem to weird people out a lot. But what Yeshua did on the cross was what convinced me of how much Father God cares about me. It saved me. Paul says it makes no sense to the lost. 1 Cor 1: 18

Yes. Absolutely. There is supernatural power in blood, whether people realize it or not. This is why “pagans” (or anybody not progressing Yahweh/Christ as God still use sacrifices of blood today in rituals. And of course pre-Jesus animal sacrifices were required for the original Law. But Jesus is our final sacrifice.

Re McLaren, sounds like liberation theology. What do you know, his Wikipedia page says he does not believe homosexual conduct is a sin.
When you twist the Gospel to an earthly type of "liberation", you eventually turn against the sound moral teachings of the church, which themselves are "oppressive."

I love that you are teaching Christian's what is going on out there. THANK YOU ALISA! WE NEED TO BE READY and study to show thyself approved!!! 1 John 2:18-19 AMP Children, it is the last hour [the end of this age]; and just as you heard that the antichrist is coming [the one who will oppose Christ and attempt to replace Him], even now many antichrists (false teachers) have appeared, which confirms our belief that it is the last hour. They went out from us [seeming at first to be Christians], but they were not of us [because they were not truly born again and spiritually transformed]; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but [teaching false doctrine], so that it would be clearly shown that none of them are of us.

It is very helpful to reiterate the core ideas in the gospel. So many are diluting the full meaning of these ideas. Thank you for taking time to articulate these things, elaborate on what they mean and point to Jesus

Thank you for posting this very needful presentation and when I heard you mention the way those people responded negatively to what you had to say, one particular passage that came to me was 2 Timothy 4:3-4, where we're warned by the apostle Paul that the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts they'll raise up for themselves teachers, having itching ears and they will turn their ears away from the Truth and will turn to fables.
Also, the unfortunate reality is that as the day of Jesus's return and the end of history draws nearer, we'll be seeing more and more of this trend.

According to Alisa, All sins must be paid for. "Whoever puts their trust in Jesus as their savior will be reconciled to God and find eternal life." So in other words, the salvation of the world is OUR responsibility. We have been called the light of the world. The salt of the earth. WE have been called to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations. If the multitudes are not saved it is because WE have not obeyed God. That's a heavy burden to carry. Buy it is WRONG! JESUS is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He has reconciled all people to the Father. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done. Jesus said, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me” (John 12:32). HE will accomplish this. We are to partner with Him and share the GOOD NEWS but Almighty God will accomplish this. Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess. This is not forced or coerced. This is what the love of God will accomplish. The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

I wonder what she thinks of the Charles Finney's Systematic theology. He was a Godly man that won many to Christ his teaching are for me the basis for liberal theology. At the time the issue was slavery. Something the Southern Baptist said was taught in the scriptures. But he did not believe in slavery. Why? Was he progressive? Also Origen of the second century was a great teacher believed that everyone will be saved and come to Christ. Also Clement of Alexandria taught the blood represents the teachings of Christ, He says this in his commentary on First John. I remember in the 60s and 70s there were many groups that we all thought were nuts for forming communes or teaching there followers to live off the land. I think Alisa thinks of these progressive groups that same way we thought of the hippies.

So, Jesus is not the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the word but the Lamb of God who offers us an opportunity to have our sin taken away if we make the right choice. Ultimately we must save ourselves

It doesn't just come down to how you interpret a word or phrase. It comes down to whether someone is rooted in life, whether their spirits are spiritually alive - that fact will affect their take on everything! Hence Gunger, or whoever, is in no place to comment AT ALL compared with how God has set things to be, or by extension, anyone so arguing in accordence with how God has set them out to be. We should never, therefore, feel compelled to accommodate the thinking of the spiritually dead. Their arguments are spurious.
