Hi Clinton Very clever and thank you for showing the mod. I am interested in trying this on my'24 890 adv r as well. Already have 10,000km / 6000miles on the bike...before any mods...nice little diagram as well, which really helps when my dyslexia kicks in! lol.
That is a good idea to " trick " the ECU to think the catalyst is still there . Hope fully this will work on a long term basis . If so you should market this , I know of a lot of guy that will drop tons of money for that . Me the first .
Hopefully that's the fix for the 24 model. Thanks for posting. Can you please do an update video after the 200 or so miles to let me know if everything is good?
hi @ctwoods99 - I just wanted to check that this mod you did was still working for you, after a few miles. I see you used a 1 meg - 1/4 watt resistor and a 4.7 uF 50 V capacitor. I have a electrical supply store nearby and wanted to try to do the same. Thanks for the video and info.
Clinton - thanks for posting this video. Very helpful. One question, what is the thread size of the O2 Sensor Bung that you welded in ? (Did you make this, purchase online, or did it come with your pipe ?? Thanks again for posting this excellent video.
I have a 2022 790 adv r i remove the cat And I’m very curios about the house power and torque after remove the cat what’s different between before and after 😂
I dont have many miles on yet but I know a guy that followed the video instructions and he has about 500 miles on with no issues so it sounds like the mod is working.
Hi, any update on this? I have been running a decat 24 model and have accepted I need to reset the eml anywhere between 200 miles and 1500 miles between eml resets
@ thanks for the reply. FYI without any mods other than welded bung in a 23 link pipe I have seen up to 1500 miles between ercu reporting cat efficiency fault. First time it was 1500 miles or so then recently on an off-road event I had a repeat after circa 200 miles. It would be really good to see if you still report this after circa 1500-2000 miles of running with the mod in place. Please keep updated 👍
I'm just a guy who wants to decat his '24 Rally (not an electrical engineer), so please forgive my ignorant question. In your schematic, you indicate a 5ohm - 1Mohm resistor. While searching the interweb, I can only find a 1 megohm resistor. Can you please tell me if these two items are the same, and/or provide a link? Thanks!
You are awesome!!! Just found out this video, I am going to do it very soon to my ktm. As soon as you do the mod, does the service indicator go out? or it needs the diagnostic to delete this error? Also what diagnostic do you use? Thanks a lot for this info!!!
On my 2024 I already have an arrow mid pipe installed with no place for o2 sensor. I ve just sealed and secured the sensor to the side. Do this mod works if I cut the wires and remove the sensor completely?
Almost any OBD2 scan tool will read and clear your errors. You will need the adapter plug in the link below. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CQJT5CQW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Many people have told me the error went away by its self about 50 miles after the electrical mod was complete. I made the electrical modification at the same time that I removed the cat so I never got an error.
hello, thank for your video , this configuration works for a 2024 Husqvarna Norden 901 , i so in my bike that i have 3 O2 sensors , 2 in the top header , 1 per cylinder and the 3 in the catalytic converter like your bike.... is your bike coming with 3 o2 sensor to ??? thank you
Thanks!! 🎊

it's still working
Hopefully that's the fix for the 24 model. Thanks for posting. Can you please do an update video after the 200 or so miles to let me know if everything is good?
That's the plan!

540 miles and no error. Others have reported 1000+ miles

Here's a link to the bung I ordered, it an m18 x 1.5

So what happened without cat?
I mean what’s the function of this o2 sensor?is it good for power? Torque?or just for euro laws😂

About 700 miles and no errors, it's working.

Use a 1M resistor rated at 1/4 watt along with a 4.7uf capacitor. It will cost you about $0.25.
@@ctwoods99 Thank you!

No, the ecu is looking for feed back. You will have to drill a hole and weld in the threaded connector.

The Norden has the same engine and exhaust system, this will work on your bike.
Hi just seeing if this worked after putting some miles on the bike. I'm looking at do this!
700 miles and no errors
Fingers crossed this will be a permanent fix 🙏🏽
Still working at 540 miles
