Addiction is a gradual process. It doesn't start in a day. My advice to everyone is to avoid too much of thinking that leads to unnecessary depression.

This is really sad. Depressed people are one of the most vulnerable to addiction. Once a person felt that no one is willing to help them, they would eventually turn into drugs. Thus making them addicts and drug dependant.

Media made it worse, which is why I decided to kick my fentanyl addiction and stay clean. Addicted for 5 years, today makes a week and a half clean and I don't think I'm ever going back, just one of those people who's body and mind won't allow me to continue

@@SAMEntalhealth Way to go with the attitude! Keep it up. God did not create you and want you to suffer. I am not a "religious" fanatic, bc actually religion is an enemy of what Christ actually is. I am presently suffering from watching a loved one going down as a heroine addict. I'm helpless in "fixing", but I know God hasn't given up. Many chances of help come along and they are from Him, but how do you get people to grab onto that arm of help? I'm finding hope in reading other's victories. I am proud of you.

As the joker says " All it takes is one bad day" in her case depression. More than an addiction problem. I think it all boils down to support system and upbringing. Yes support system because for the most part they go into these because they are longing for something.
