I have to agree that it’s kind of annoying to rag on the car because you didn’t know about things. It’s one thing to discover things, but to have a negative tone about everything really shows a lack of objectivity. Truth can be shared objectively. But overall I love the new Z. People are acting like they are taking their cars to the track everyday. The fact is the majority of buyers will never track it let alone take it 10/10ths. People are going to drive them around city streets. Even as enthusiast, that’s about 99% of the use case for myself ESPECIALLY in flat, boring Houston. As long as it’s fast, has a manual, and looks great I am happy! And I’m not going to be racing a Supra at every red light so I don’t care that’s it’s slightly faster. I’d probably add an exhaust and intake and that would resolve the sound issue.
Perfect car for a Sunday morning drive. Great review in mentioning how the comfy suspension is. I certainly wouldn't mind picking up a used one once they fully depreciate in 3 years.
@@myemailiscool yes but some people like nissan and some don't so they can do what they want! I personally own a 2009 ford focus and tbh if I have a choice I won't buy a ford again unless it is for their trucks but Im going for honda or toyota next most likely!
Gauge clusters these days are pretty much all digital displays. So they might as well add "journalist mode" where the speedometer blurs itself out when going over certain speed.
I really, really wish they had spent more effort and time on RnD on this thing. Yes, it goes like hell. Yes, it's drop dead gorgeous. Yes, it's a ton of fun. But for almost the same price (dealer markup and all), I could have a Mustang that's better in *almost* every department. I guess at that point it's up to the owner's preference.
i feel like if it was like $7k ish cheaper it would be a hit. the car will never be competitive but the least they could do is make it cheaper than its modern competition
@@ShaiyanHossain Right. I mean, people are still buying them in droves from what I've seen, but.. I dunno, it wasn't an experience I'd want to live with, y'know? Especially not for that price point. Gone are the days of cheap enthusiast vehicles.
@@a.dudeman7715 from what ive seen nissan has barely sold any thanks to markups and continous issues with production. they've barely sold over 1000 since launch last year

I really want to love this Z. The exterior styling is great, the interior is good looking but not super functional. But, OMG that drive train is LAZY! I'm glad that they noticed it. Turbo needs to re-spool every time even at high rpm range. It's a shame Nissan didnt focus on making this a great driver's car.

i really want to like this car but there's a few things that put me off. the sound is lackluster. i see way too much 370z everywhere. the center console is literally pulled from a 370z as are the doors. and its very expensive if you want the desirable options. its very obvious they didn't have a huge budget for this car and its half baked.
I think it was more of a case that they knew this car wasn’t going to sell like crazy so it didn’t make sense to invest a crazy amount in the car when everything is shifting towards electrification. People just aren’t buying 2 door coupes anymore, let alone 2 seaters. Nissan needed to make this car more so to help repair their image. But I also think they built it with tuners in mind and left a lot of head room in that regard. For instance… They know no matter how good they make this car sound (legally, which is why the manual is quieter than the auto) most people are going to rip off the stock exhaust and put on an aftermarket one that’s louder. I remember when the FM platform first launched and all the cars that was on it had KILLER exhaust notes that I could recognize a mile away… yet you still had people replacing them.
only seen one while driving back to cali, had manufacturer plates, in arizona. hopefully the nismo fixes the sensory issues. another great/fun review :)

i dont feel that this review was thought out, but its kind of endearing. I like that fact that you are feeling out the car in real time. That is cool.

A used Nissan... that's a bad idea if I've ever heard one.
