My parents both worked for airlines in the late 1940s, dad as an executive and mom as a ticket agent. She was a tiny beautiful woman back then but was afraid to fly,so she worked at the United Airlines counter. Dad was tall and handsome with one of those 1940s mustaches. He was mistaken for Howard Hughes more than once.
The photo of the policeman in a horse just gave me a flashback - 1964 on a trip from Arizona to NYC - first time I ever saw a Mounted Policeman in person- and I remember thinking how huge those horses were! I was almost 17 and this was summer before my senior HS year!
