Hi Emily! I saw your video and I absolutely love it! So much joy and love! It inspires me to move out there and work at the YMCA at the rookies. So, I am currently trying to decide whether or not it makes since to enroll myself in the Elevate Program or apply for seasonal work at there. I will be 24 in a few short months, making me more than likely one of the older persons in the program. I am hoping to move out there in January time and I am considering if it is worth my time to be in the Elevate program vs. seasonal work there. If you could provide your thoughts that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Visited this place and Attended Christian Music in the Rockies in 1981, met Amy Grant, Carman, Jimmy Owens, Continental Singers, etc matured seasoned Christian Artist.
a l I’m driving there from VA and to me it will definitely worth it. I must have a car to do everything there. The little town it’s far from a lot of nice stuffs
Hi Emily! My friends and I were thinking about applying to be day counselors over the summer... How was the housing and would you recommend it? Or should we keep looking around?
Scarlett Holton I would definitely recommend it. The housing was dorm style: 2 people per room (bunkbed), 1 bathroom per room, and a shared common area. Such a fun summer! I also wrote a blog about my experience with more details if you’re interested. emily-meadows.com/2017/05/09/ymca-of-the-rockies-staff-review/
Hi Emily! I am a junior education major at Texas A&M university. I am looking into working here as a summer day camp counselor. I read your blog post about your job but was wondering if you have any insight or friends who worked the position I am looking to do or any other position recommendations!
How did you add this video with a song in the background without it getting taken down by UA-cam for copyright infringement? I’m trying to add a video about my Summer in estes and it keeps getting taken down.
Jessica Cook honestly, I don’t remember. From my understanding you can use copyrighted songs, you just can’t monetize the video. I’m not 100% sure though, sorry!
Hi Madeline, you definitely should! The application was pretty long, but not difficult at all. I'd say the age range is 18-23 (mostly college age). Thanks for watching my video. I also wrote a blog post all about my experience if you want more info! emily-meadows.com/2017/05/09/ymca-of-the-rockies-staff-review/

Does the Y allow you to pick up overtime in food service? Is it hard to let them give you overtime? Like do they not want to do it?
would you say that driving out there and all the expenses that come with it but having a car would be worth it vs flying and not having a car?

Yes, definitely worth it. Many of my friends didn’t take their cars and they felt kind of stranded.
Hopefully me next summer if just one thing goes right.
