Don't worry about how fast you're progressing compared to other people. I learned full 180s in a year, then 360s, and then 180s to half cabs by the end of two years. Tricks come with time. Always keep a 5 year goal in your mind. Of course you will land the trick you want in 5 years. Keep pushing, it gets more fun as time goes on. The beginning is the hardest part.
i think this needs to be said in the video for everyone :) its a great tip of advice i see alot of riders call it quits or give up because they arent progressing as fast as others. i too took a year to learn 180s and still working on 360s but like you both said its all about having fun!
Been riding for 13 years. Have yet to land an air out bar or whip. But have done 540’s. Almost 7’s. Manual like a beast and have mad style. One day I’ll have those two tricks on lock. New year, new bike. Gunna make my first expensive custom build. I’m 26 lol
on day two with learning fakies, shit is so frustrating lol and i have pretty decent bike control already but it's a whole new thing to learn going backwards
i had the hardest time learning to spin. i had a mental block always clipped my back wheel on the lip and constantly looking down at my back wheel rather than where i was going to land. it's really important to keep your head up, spot your landing, and don't try to yank it too early. nice how to! also i miss the FL guys.
I just learned 360s out of a bank after about a year of riding (I don’t ride a lot, usually a session once a week) I never did 3 pivots. I learned half cabs about a month ago in 20 minutes. This video helped thanks spencer
Could you do a how to on airing out of bowls? I know it sounds dumb but I just bought a BMX a few weeks ago and went to the skatepark and was scared of airing out of the concrete bowl there haha. The one time I did I hit my back tire on the lip and almost was thrown over the handlebars.
Jack Parker My tip is go fast so you can "air".Turn your head so you can see your landing. thats how i air without casing, maybe i am just bad at explaining it because its simple for me because i already ride for a while.
Basically you'll know if you're going to case before you even case. When you learn how to spot a case before it happens, basically you want to lean your butt as far over the back tire as possible and push down on the bars into the ramp as hard as possible. Sounds really counter productive, but if you try to fight it you're going to be sent over the bars. Lean back, push down, keep the bike straight.
I love the advice. I know how to do all these basics but you give good advice because I remember learned all this by trial and error. Much blood. Much pain lol. Years and years. Too bad I don’t have Spencer’s skill
You're probably taking off too 'low'.. For 540's and even 720's for the matter you wonna take off right at the very top of the ramp (Coping) which is probably something you aren't doing with a 360 as most people don't as it isn't necessary.
When I try 3s I always land about 270 and i have a freecoaster and I can't 3 pivot atm but I'll try some now and I cant get my head round 360 I only get 3/4 the way round 🙃
I had a buddy that road free coaster, he said to 360 tire tap you have to spin hard and not use any pedal pressure. Like doing it without a chain pretty much.
This works. I first found a bank, would 180 and come back down. Then I learned disasters, just go a bit faster and spin later. Your back tire will land on the fly out then hop back in. Go even faster spin later and get them fakies dialed and you can 180 out of banks. Now for flat ground.
another tip, if you can fakie a little bit but struggle with 180s just go faster like a full crank or a little more trust me you'll learn them faster and they look better
Tip: if you spin to the left naturally, look over your shoulder to the left. This works as well for switch if you look in that direction that you spin. This is how I learned 360's.
Spencer how do I get more rotation, I can 180 and 360 but I'm trying to learn 540's I do my 3's flat as well as 180's but I also do them outta a tub with cooping. But I just can't seem to get any more rotation. How can I add more rotation to my spin?
Any time I try any type of spin, especially nose-pivot spins, I feel like I'm landing with a lot of sideways force on my back wheel. Any advice on landing properly to avoid that?
You're under or over rotating if you land full 180 or full 360 it will feell natural Also turn the bars in the opposite diraction that you're spinning to land fakies easier
You may have covered this in a previous video but how much do you weigh? I’m 25, 5’10 around 225 pounds and was wondering if I was too big for a 21” bike or if you had any recommendations? I haven’t rode a bike in about 10 years but recently my interest have been resparked in bmx
Got my 10° hops on lock

I can do 180 half cabs but not 360s? Werid

You make the most important fundamental how to's on tricks I totally skipped over. Do manuals next that would be dope.
I'm pretty sure he's already covered manuals.
I did a search on his page before posting actually and turned up nothing.
Rayle Slayre it wasn't just on manuals. He covered it in a video with a bunch of other tricks
Ah would you mind linking it to me for my lazy ass?
he did a video with adam lz on manuals a while back

Instructions unclear...head stuck in spokes

Fuck you
instructions very clear... penis stuck in sproket.
@@bermchasin yikey yikes
The instructions were ridiculously unclear. I turned into a fidget spinner.
Lmao
Thank you so much!!! I have been trying to find a good how-to on spinning FOREVER!!!
Could you do a how to on airing out of bowls? I know it sounds dumb but I just bought a BMX a few weeks ago and went to the skatepark and was scared of airing out of the concrete bowl there haha. The one time I did I hit my back tire on the lip and almost was thrown over the handlebars.
same bro

Jack Parker I was in the same boat 3 months ago all I do is pedal to the metal then in air put my back tire down more then my front
Jack Parker when your front tyre lifts over the cope push you front end down and kind of tuck your knees.

I love the advice. I know how to do all these basics but you give good advice because I remember learned all this by trial and error. Much blood. Much pain lol. Years and years. Too bad I don’t have Spencer’s skill
i wish the launch pad was still the same as it used to be, looks like such a fun prefab park
Can you do a vid with nose manuals I either flip over or just can't hold them super long
Can you do a video for 360 to 720 please cause I wanna learn to do 450's and 540 and stuff between 360 and 720
Allyn Strong just keep your head turned and pencil out a little bit
I can't pencil out even if I try my hardest I can't for some reason
You're probably taking off too 'low'.. For 540's and even 720's for the matter you wonna take off right at the very top of the ramp (Coping) which is probably something you aren't doing with a 360 as most people don't as it isn't necessary.
Great vid. I sick at spinning for some reason. Been working on them for about a month and I have a long way to go

YESSS SPENCER! I needed this badly lol thank you bro
I love the how to videos. It helps me explain how to do stuff to my niece and nephew
When I try 3s I always land about 270 and i have a freecoaster and I can't 3 pivot atm but I'll try some now and I cant get my head round 360 I only get 3/4 the way round 🙃

I remember using the cheap ramps from Walmart and using those to learn lol we thought grass was our foam pit
great examples best described in my opinion
9:03 was sick
I love your vids man
I could already pivot three but this helped a lot with getting them down hoping
can you ride jay's "street wheels" for a video?
Any pointers on how to wear jorts properly? I seem to have trouble with that, but you're rocking it!
cut em above the knees or it doesn't count
Thanks man! I think I will try tucking into the handlebars more when I spin and take your advice on using a Target when trying them 3's !! Thanks yo!
I think this is best help video i have watched

I love you spenc thanks for the how to do one for the advanced riders
I saw a lot of how to videos but this helped me the most subscribe to him he is awesome
You are the the king of how-to's 👍😉
I learned 180s in a quarter first a few months ago and I'm just now getting them flat ground
This will help me dial my 540 flat. Thanks the great gods of bmx who are among us.
how to 540 flat:
step 1. bunnyhop.
step 2. turn into a tornado
step 3. land and ride away
-watching for the 20th time-
This works. I first found a bank, would 180 and come back down. Then I learned disasters, just go a bit faster and spin later. Your back tire will land on the fly out then hop back in. Go even faster spin later and get them fakies dialed and you can 180 out of banks. Now for flat ground.

I like to practice my flat spin 180s.... Basically a no hop 180.
Lol joe is tossin bangers in the background
another tip, if you can fakie a little bit but struggle with 180s just go faster like a full crank or a little more trust me you'll learn them faster and they look better

Love you Spencer
Классный урок! Учу 360 на плоскаче уже 2года. Все еще докручиваю на заднем колесе.
See I would do tricks and stuff but I don't have a lot of tread on my tires and don't have replacements.
TheGamer Eaight Oh One EXUSES
Make sure to have lots of stickers on your helmet. It makes turning way easier
U got the best land face dude
I can already 360 tap up a bank, but I have some trouble doing them out of a flyout. My backwheel always gets stuck at the coping. What can I do?
Any time I try any type of spin, especially nose-pivot spins, I feel like I'm landing with a lot of sideways force on my back wheel. Any advice on landing properly to avoid that?
You're under or over rotating if you land full 180 or full 360 it will feell natural
Also turn the bars in the opposite diraction that you're spinning to land fakies easier
All you need is some fuckkkkkkin lemonadeeeee
So the pivot point is back toward the back while lifting front up ? Man i can do a 110 everytime lol
Any advice for goofy footed riders doing hop 3's? i can 540 on a flyout but still struggle getting the back end up enough for a hop 3...
Awesome bro
what kind of helmet is baffuto_joe wearing?
Dude sick ass triple 30 at 2:20.
"so when they go to spin, they just do a little drag, and then they get ejected, and...it's not fun" lmao
I did everything and now I can 360 fly out haha thanks :D :D
I’m having mental block w keeping my head turned doing 360s
good lesson👍🏼
You may have covered this in a previous video but how much do you weigh? I’m 25, 5’10 around 225 pounds and was wondering if I was too big for a 21” bike or if you had any recommendations? I haven’t rode a bike in about 10 years but recently my interest have been resparked in bmx

awesome mate!! really helped!! cool vid :) :) :) :)
“Or this ledge joe didn’t bar out on.”
I wish I had a skate park in my town
Oof I hate my skate park but I’m thankful that I attest have one
Does it bend your wheel?
weiss_henry only with mafia
Random what do you mean?
Random why what's wrong with mafia
nothing he just hates mafia, if you have a double walled rim you shouldn't have to worry, if you have single walled and weight a lot than it could
Henry Spotting yes it could if you dont really land it properly the rim will indeed then bend
What psi do u ride spencer?
Make a how to 540 video
don't you mean 90 degrees to 360 degrees? in the thumbnail?
U make 180 look so easy
no bar out ?
AHAHAHAHHAHAHA 1:31 to 1:33 look at his head!!!!
Make a how to dragon slayer ...
Yesss i need this right now
I always end up too far over the bars when i 180+
i can only 270 as of now sadly but i think that’s good progression considering i’ve only been riding a little under three months
update: getting more consistent with 360’s now
Don't need the help, but I came to send a thumbs up anyways 👍🏻
Thanks you
Why is there no "BMX: How to Cash Roll tailwip to barspin"?
