I dont know how i forgot that Hugh Jackman played Van... but holy moly this movie was such a bop back in the day. I remember watching this on a very small (and somehow still $200) portable dvd player on the train as a kid. Good times !

The interesting thing about the brides is that their demonic bat appearances were a mixture of practical and CGI.
So they made casts of their upper body and face before having front/side/back full body photo of themselves in their costumes which could be transferred onto their CGI demonic bat form that is seen in the movie.
The way they did the Brides attacking the village was through cameras that were set up on high terrains around the village which would "act" as the Brides as filming their demonic bat scenes whilst the other actor/actresses like Hugh and Kate acted their scenes in the village alongside the Brides.
Meanwhile the actresses as the Brides did their scenes in the form of stunt work in front of a blue background as part of the CGI process.
I saw this on the behind the scenes clips on the Van Helsing disc. I was amazed and intrigued by the way they did the scenes.

Love this movie and sad it gets a lot of hate. Would of been awesome to have more in this universe, like hunting down monsters. It was cool seeing him go up again like Mr. Hyde in the beginning which actually has some pretty good looking CGI and then youve got werewolves and whatever else they could of came up with.

Technically, stormtroopers aim isn't bad at all. it's just they're shooting at heroes and they can't die due to plot armor. Expendables on the other hand, drop to stormies easily.
@@Amp661 In a lot of the occasions where their aim is (apparently) tested, it's at least implied they're not trying to hit anyone. For example, when the Empire uses the Millenium Falcon to track the Rebellion's base.

The plot of this movie sounds like a kid making up a story on the fly. "Dracula wants to have babies, but he can't because they explode, so he needs Frankenstein power. But Van Helsing hunts monsters with the help of the pope who has a secret base like Men in Black. So Van Helsing goes to kill Dracula with a crossbow machinegun. But Van Helsing is actually an angel with amnesia. And also there's a werewolf and a girl. "

@@Amp661 No, Hugh Jackman as Van Helsing could have made a crap ton of more movies each one dealing with a new place/monster.
He is too old for it now, but it would have been nice, as long as each movie was kept self contained it would have worked extremely well.

If there wasn't a need for a cinematic fight, Hellsing likely would have downed the lot of them immediately on the first pass with a surprise weapon like that.

That is how great His Love and Mercy for you is. He has no reason to spare you, apart from His abounding Love and Mercy. You just have to accept His forgiveness, repent, get baptised and turn to Him. You have been warned. Do not reject Him.
