I’ve used that particular tool! It basically melts the pipe in the fitting. It’s a POS!!! Reed makes a socket saver with a carbide tip blade. 10 times faster and cleaner

REED clean Reem extreme is a far superior tool to the ram bit. Worth every penny. It's worth saying that you should spend some extra time with primer (even on abs) after using any of these tools.
How much does a 3” ABS coupler cost vs that tool?

That tool is meant to be used when you have no other choice. Not to reuse pipe and be a cheap ass.

I would just use the proper fitting to connect abs pipe
there is a rim fitting for pipe as well you you know..for venting gss appliances is almost code requirement to rim out end of venting piping (pvc, cpvc)

Heat the inserted pipe slowly cut off 2” from the joint and push inward with a large screwdriver and a little more heat and as soon as it release’s grab it with a channel locks and slowly twist add a little heat and out she comes 👍

I know this video is a demonstration but under what circumstances would you want to use a tool like this? Obviously, if you can place a piece of pipe in your truck and do this you might as well just use the proper fitting.
The times I have used these tools is when you have a cracked joint at a fitting under a house that is fitting to fitting and would require you to open the wall above to facilitate the whole replacement. I use the reed version as it is a much much better cut. It fits like new.
As a plunber...fittings are cheap..labor is 125.00 per hour....probably will leak under pressure.

If I have pipe in my van I've also got couplers , brackets , elbows ...
Sorry , no way I'd buy such a very specific tool that's only useful for a very specific set of circumstances .
I'd sooner swage the extra bit of pipe onto the existing by heating.
