A night at the Bayeux Medieval Fair in Normandy, France.

We took a trip out to the enchanting Bayeux Medieval night market. The fair is on each year and is a true family event. There is so much to see and so many stalls offering all sorts of interesting hand made and artisan wares. From jewellery to artisan beers, swords and shields to Medieval clothing and not forgetting pottery and grimoires. Food and drink is available from a number of sellers, though sitting and eating under the ancient majestic old tree in the 11th century cathedral courtyard is pretty amazing and with all the stalls around it does feel like you have stepped back in time.
Bayeux itself is well worth a visit with restaurants, shops, museums and of course the world famous tapestry.
The people of Bayeux and the volunteers really go that extra mile to make the fair a superb event. We would certainly recommend putting it in your diary for next year.
The event is free to visit with parking close by.
