It's crazy seeing videos from a year ago. There are so many parts of the trail that are ten times as sketchy now that a lot of that chalky dirt has washed away and exposed more rock. Super fun place to ride and it seems to change character just a little even week to week....
Cool, glad y'all hit it. Cooper and I hit that Sicky Icky drop blind without checking...it was sketch. Next time take the IB to Venom - at 1:06, jump that berm from Itsy to Venom.
Ha.. the slo mo crash was awesome. Couldn't quite see exactly what happened but it looked like my front wheel hung up on that first chunk rounding the corner and it was rag doll physics for another 30 feet or so. I didn't see that one coming at all...good times.
Haven't been out there YET but according to Strava, IG & UA-cam, everyone and their mamas were there this past weekend😂 And yeah man, sometimes dark tinted sunglasses can get you in trouble, I suffered a separated shoulder because my tint was too dark & went off a cliff.
I believe it, it seemed like this was the weekend where everyone decided to go check it out... weather was certainly good for it. Yea, I always forget about my sunglasses until I get into the woods...
I'm just down the road in Leander (NW of Austin). I'm on a On-One Codeine 27.5, Greg likes his GG though. I've gotten to where I ride slack bikes for all of my riding these days.
Just curious, how long have you been riding downhill for? You did great, even for doing these runs blind! I just left Spider Mountain, first time riding a downhill park. I did all runs blind and both black runs really messed me up and tested my tech skills for sure. Had a couple falls on both black runs but the green and blues were much more enjoyable with all that flow!!!
I wouldn't consider myself a downhill rider, but I've been riding mtbs since the late '80's. I've tried to go to a new lift assisted bike park each year for the past few years.
Gotdurt thanks! I’m a still go but hope in the near future they add more trails. I went to big bend ranch state park on the dome trail a few months back & that most definitely is an all day(badass) bike ride if you ever get a chance to go check it out.

There was a dude climbing down that drop when we approached and with the onlookers at the bottom I thought maybe I ought to have a look first... lol.
I discovered that transfer my second time there. Super fun and you can make it a pretty long gap depending where you launch from. Super fun!
Stinger looks pretty nuts dude! I let me nerves get the best of me and didn't try it haha. Hope to next time. Fun place!
If you rode "Stick icky", IMO it was a little sketchier than Stinger, just not as many steep sections.

Yea, in hindsight, it was awesome, but I was scared of the outcome coming up on you, until you rose out of the dust, lol.
Greg Anderson similarly there was s guy that had stopped in front of us and said, “nope.”

Some of that stuff looked steep! I subbed!
You guys are killing it out there.
What bikes are y’all riding?
Greg's on a GG Shred Dogg, I'm on an On One Codeine 27.5
6:58 No joke that was me who took out the chunk. Crashed
I witnessed his crash, he did indeed take a chunk out!
Where did you guys come in from? And how do you like your commencal/or guerrilla gravities? I'm looking for a slacker bike for traveling/spider.

I’m a go this Friday, can’t wait. Is this an all day bike ride or are the trails short & sweet?
Short and sweet is an understatement... find your fav's and repeat all day.

These blind runs look fun and fast paced. Where you guys planning on riding next?
