I've been playing bass for 6 weeks now and thought: let's begin with an easy song to play along. Barracuda! ehhhhh, yeah.....when I saw your vid....maybe not? never knew the bass-part was so elaborate. But with every practice I'm getting a little closer. So many thanx for your vid!
It took me a long long time to get the gallop picking up to speed so I definitely would not consider this an easy song at all but keep practicing and you will nail it for sure 👍
I love this video. I just found the isolated bass track on here and on Patreon. You are actually playing it harder than it is on the record and probably a lot tighter too.
No, this is not overcomplicated, it is spot on with the recorded bass line. That's not to say it couldn't be simplified and still sound ok live, but for me, I love to learn these iconic bass parts note for note if I can. Thank you, Brand73 for the best Barracuda bass line on UA-cam!
thanks! it's hard for me to recommend anything. I think your best bet is to go to a music store, try out a handful of models and select the one that feels best in your own hands and within your budget.
Man thank you for this video!! This was surprisingly difficult; probably the most difficult song I’ve learned since I started playing bass about 7 months ago. Getting the gallop right using finger strumming on top of the string crossing was very challenging. This tab made it so much easier though and watching your left hand helped me a lot
thanks! glad it helped you out....btw I played with a very very thin pick 0.50mm, it really made it a lot easier for the galloping and getting it up to speed .
@@Brand73 I’ll have to pick up some thin picks to try next time I go to the music store. Have yet to really try and use a pick on bass it just feels like I forget everything I know when I pick up a pick but I’ll try out some thin ones!
One dislike from a person who wishes they could play bass like this.. Thanks for sharing, it helped me out a lot..
Glad it helped, this is not an easy song to play. Been playing it for years though so I have a lot of practice with it. 🙂
I think it was Davey504 for using a P I C C 🤣
Word…. And I’m playing without a pick but it’s still difficult to keep that groove steady
now is 40
I just joined a band and they want me to learn this. Thanks. This will save me a ton of time.
nice , glad it helps :)

These galloping songs are not the best to learn bass
If it helps, try practicing the song at 0.25 speed, then 0.5 and so on. I find it really helps break down that 'gallop' rhythm.
Great bass cover. The bass audio is perfect in the mix. Thanks for sharing with us.
thanks!
I have to learn this song which I happen to absolutely hate by Sunday. Thanks man, this really helps.

Cool, thanks!

I finally got up to 75% speed! Thanks for the video!!!
Nice!
Great job, I've got to learn this and your video and tabs have saved me a lot of time. Thanks for sharing
Glad it helped!
Thank you very much !
What is the Effect of the bass ?
I am using old Line6 Pod farm software. I don't know the exact settings as I just experiment until I can find a sound I like for the song.
ahh. the pick, magic sauce. I was trying to finger this, too fast
Hi from France, I think its awesome! Which bass do you recomand for a beginner? :)

Muy buen trabajo, creo que faltaron unos acordes al final...
So cool! This bassline is really nice
thank you!
Your bass reminds me of my Dean bass I use to have 😳🤔 maybe I should have kept it 👍
Hard rock 🖤 🤘
Almost prefer listening to this than original just because there is more bass 😂

You can experiment with three finger plucking for the galloping pattern, makes it a lot easier

Thanks, cheers! 🍻
Just what I was looking for. Nice one!
great! thanks for watching :)
OMG! On point!
Outstanding!
Thank you! Cheers!
Do you have the tab for this? The one I'm using is different and I think this version is more accurate. Great job by the way!
thanks man - do you mean a pdf version of the tabs as well? if so I can get that.
Brad, you are awesome! Will you please do come to the Everlife by Stryper?
thanks!, I never heard of that song but I can look into it though.
Just stumbled on your channel when I found this tab. Now binge watching it. Subscribed!

From space...
Improviso, as vezes soa melhor que o original.
Listen to the bass and drums isolated youtube vid. Bass, as recorded, very boring.
