    I like this one! I think this one would definitely add some fluidity to my form. At this point in my years of practice I've been looking to add more to my repertoire,and since you're not doing this in a martial way I feel I get to see it from a different perspective. Thank you for the knowledge you share. You are wise beyond your years😉. Look forward to future videos! Sending positive vibes for your quick recovery!

    Got it! After a few calculations,practice runs and a near floggin' to the ol' noggin',I got it. It's not quite perfect yet,but I'm comfortable enough to keep working it. Think I might replace the standard overlord with this in my form. I think it would look better.

    3:14 is really difficult for me. The timing is super tough. I'll keep at it! Thanks for filming this technique - definitely something for me to shoot for.

      Have you gotten it down yet? I’m also having trouble with the timing - got the footwork down though!

    Hey there! Hope you're healing quickly if you're not already😊. I just wanted to tell you that I showed this move to my Shifu (as well as the "open knot knee shot"),and he loved it! I have them worked into my form now,just working out the kinks now. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! You're an awesome,as you say,dartist! (Love that word, btw)

    Get better soon! Your tutorials are literally the ones that speak the best for my learning style best so I usually wait with baited breath even though I havent gotten all the moves down yet (curse you side foot shots! ) :P

    • @FlowMayhem
      @FlowMayhem  5 років тому +1

      Ashley Bergstrom hmmmm I wonder if the side foot shots would be easier if you pivoted a full 180 degrees so that you end up facing the target? Unless there is a different foot shot I don’t know about... but if it’s the one I teach, it’s wayyy easier that I way I think :))) ❤️❤️❤️

    • @creationchick
      @creationchick 5 років тому

      I might have to try that, I'm having issues catching the dart on the foot....everything else is fine but there is no foot contact....I've been tempted just to fake it because it would not be noticed but I'm too determined to beat the thing haha . Turning 180 might fix that though I'll play around and see thanks !

    Hey Flow... Up for a challenge? How much do you trust yourself?
    Do a routine blindfolded (not with fire though, that would be silly). Trust your flow.

    • @FlowMayhem
      @FlowMayhem  5 років тому

      warcroft hey :) I prefer to focus on dance and choreography

    • @warcroftgaming
      @warcroftgaming 5 років тому +1

      @@FlowMayhem I think of it like this...
      If you can do something with your eyes closed then youre able to focus on something else while you do it.
      In your case... your focus is on the rope dart and, as such, youre limiting yourself.
      But if the rope dart became secondary, a natural extension of yourself, you stop focusing on the rope dart and start focusing on yourself. Your dance and choreography. Then youll see what youre really capable of.
      Like a guitar player when they learn to play without looking at their hands. They can interact with others around them
      Or learning to type without looking at your hands. You can then read and type t the same time. Or type while looking at others and talking.
      But people have to force themselves to take this step. We trust and rely our eyes too much.
      Its easy to take a peek to see where you are standing.
      But it takes great courage to close your eyes and jump forward.
      You should trust your flow.

      Lol love the blindfold idea... but if she has been practicing my advice a few months ago on changing from a heavier to lighter dart then the blind fold should be easier. STILL a good lesson and challenge. I hope you have been on the faster route to heal cuz the lessons from your students are as important to the lessons to them!

    I'd be too afraid of the fire to be any good at any of this... especially on poi and rope dart routines.

      I think everyone starts off that way. eventually you get used to it and its not as scary

      You could go non-fire. I've seen led light balls, various weighted tips, or even a blade. She's using a weight in a bag for these demos. Give it a shot.
