someone was saying « this miss represents upstate ny » bro you probably live in ithica or saratoga if youve ever left the bubble of the super rich cities for city people this is 100% accurate as someone who lives in upstate ny even if it might be kind of exaggerated
I thought Benedict Arnold fought on the Hudson River? That's still upstate, though. I just drove the length of New York from Saratoga to Buffalo. Except for all the towns and cities, it's rather nice driving along route 5.
It never had a fancy part but at least it had an economic purpose. That's mostly disappearing.
My first girlfriend lived in Endicott when it was IBM country (70s and 80s). In 2002, IBM closed its Endicott manufacturing plant and left behind an enormous underground chemical plume. I suspect the main thing keeping people rooted in Endicott is the near-impossibility of selling their houses.
Multiply that by Kodak, Carrier, GE and countless smaller companies.
IBM closing killed the Hudson Valley.... but luckily, the financiers screwed NYC rents and real estate prices so bad, the boroughs moved as far North as the Metro North runs so... bully for those homeowners trying to sell.
Resident of Elmira, NY. Kiss my Labatt beer drinking, chicken wing eating, Wegman shopping, Buffalo Bills fan ass! haha. Video is very accurate.
This reminds me of Flint, Michigan so much
Lived there for over a decade I miss it in a weird way. People are assholes but it was my home for a long time.
Okay, first of all, we don't like anyone wasting our time. We may not be "nice" but we are kind... like... I will wave you in to the lane and beep my horn to make sure you are paying attention..look the fuck up from your phone... we are driving here.
