Hello Mary! We will soon be hitting the road in our SUV and look forward to sharing our adventures! Georgia is one of the top spots on our list so we really enjoyed your tour... Always love walking trails especially when they lead to waterfalls! Thanks so much for sharing! 💙Terry and Terri

Hi there! If you love waterfalls, then you simply must go to Cloudland Canyon state park! It’s gorgeous! And you have to do Sitton Gulch trail, this trail has multiple waterfalls AND parallels a beautiful creek. Y’all are going to love it!

We were there for 2 weeks a few years ago in a 35ft motorhome during October. It was a tight squeeze getting into our site, but once in we had plenty of room as the sites are spaced far apart. I think we were in site #18. It only cost us $10 a night due to the 1/2 price discount of our America the Beautiful senior pass. The shower was very rustic, but better than nothing. We enjoyed our stay, using it to visit Helen during Octoberfest and the surrounding area. This is the cheapest place you can camp in the area during October. If you are camping there in a fairly large RV, be sure to enter the park from the south as the turn to get in from the north is almost 180 degrees. This means that if you are coming from the north, you must go several miles down the mountain to turn around and come back. When we left, we dumped and took on water at Unicoi SP near Helen, as there is no dump there.

I have been camping there a few times. Sites 20-23. The vault toilets on a bad day smell so bad I have no desire to go back. Beautiful area but the toilet is a deal breaker. Even worse when temps are 70 plus.

@@adventureoutdoors2022 We like to use the toilet in our MH, as it's close, clean, private and odor free. The 50-gallon black tank will easily last 3-4 weeks, and since we move every two weeks to dump our gray tank it works out fine. When we were there, we didn't notice any foul odor outside the bath house, nor could we smell it in the shower. We went in October so it was a little cooler at that time of year, which may have helped the odor. Or maybe they had recently pumped it out or deodorized it because of complaints.
