    Alivecor is the parent company. Both products are KardiaMobile by Alivecor. The difference is one is a single lead and the other is a 6 Lead.

    Can these devices tell you if you are having an actual heart event or just gas pains? And, do you need a phone with service or will an old android 3G phone be okay?

    I have had multiple heart issues for many yrars. While this devise may give you what they advertise. I am not a trained medical professional. When I go into arrhythmia I check my blood pressure and heart rate. There I know what I reading and call my doctor on call or 911 if my readings go into a danger area.

      I've heard they provide a "doctor says go to the hospital service", for a fee.

      Yes, I hear that is true. It does seem like a good feature and I haven't spoken to my Cardiogists about this specific devise. My issue is you would still need to have your Cell phone?!, Cardio strip. If your in a location where taking a reading is difficult, like driving, or just forgot it. It isn't going to do you much good. It is affordable, but I think there are other devices that you wear. Cardio ring, Smart watch that would do the same at all times. I have a smart watch I like, but stopped using it. I was afraid its signal might interfere with my pacemaker since I move around while I sleep. This revise may be fine for some. It still seems too gimmicky to me.

    This looks great. I'm not looking for it to diagnose anything. I simply want to see the rhythm of my heart; and if it's out of sorts I know to contact my doctor. I recently had afib but had no symptoms other than shortness of breath. That could have been anything. When I went to the ER and while I was being admitted, they put one of those fingertip oximeters that showed my pulse was erratic. The doctor said I probably had afib and they did further test to confirm that. My heart was shocked back into rhythm and I've been fine since. But the idea of seeing my heart rhythm for what this thing cost ($79) seems reasonable. If someone tells me I won't be able to see an erratic heart rhythm, then I'll look somewhere else? thanks.

      My bp machine tells me if I have an erratic pulse. However, that doesn't always tell the whole story, but these don't give you your blood pressure (I think).

    I read other reviews where you can only send and save the results of this if you take out a subscription at a cost of around $30/mo US. Can you confirm this?

    • @bill9989
      @bill9989 2 роки тому +3

      I don't know what the subscription provides but I do know the cost in the U.S is $10/month or $100/year.
      Edit: in the US, the fee unlocks the unit/app. With it, it will detect several arrhythmias beyond the simple readings the non-fee unit reveals. Without the fee, arrythmias will be described as "Unclassified." That seems a little unethical to me. Nevertheless, I bought the unit then later purchased the membership.

      It just allows for more rythm abnormality detections. Without the subscription (Kardia Care) I believe it will only detect AFIB, Tachycardia, Bradycardia, normal sinus rhythm. With KardiaCare, it will detect quite a bit more. SVT, SVE, wide QRS and a few others

      I've heard that too, and for other useful feature they tout, but they don't tell you that up front.

    Save your money. This thing will only identify simply rhythms you can detect with checking your pulse or using the pulse device on your smart phone. Bradycardia is only a slow rate, tachycardia is a rapid rate and a-fib is a rate with no coordinated pattern of rhythm. You don’t need this thing to tell you those. Total BS product.

    • @Rescue-mt7fl
      @Rescue-mt7fl 2 роки тому +1

      @@mikehotchkiss8975 the device won’t diagnose SVT, only tachycardia. Origin of tachycardia isn’t identified. Your doctor should place a halter monitor on you that utilizes 3 or 5 leads to confirm frequency and origin.

      Disagree. Although it will only tell you about those things blatantly, if you know anything about EKGs it can be a handy thing to have. I've used it to track my PVCs and how they correlate with my stress/caffiene intake/time.

    I downloaded the App and I see that it is asking for some information, whether I am male or female, which entity and how old I am.
    Can I use it on other people?
