    Mr Mpofu, I too enjoyed your dissection but I feel you didn’t go deep enough, so do consider the following:
    The landscape of global conflicts reveals a complex web of power dynamics, particularly regarding Israel and Ukraine as proxies for U.S. interests. Central to this is the theme of U.S. hegemony, which is increasingly facing challenges in its global position. Here are several key points to consider:
    1. The War in Ukraine: The U.S. has a long-standing contentious relationship with Russia, marked by efforts to encircle it through military alliances and bases. A significant part of this strategy has been NATO's expansion into Eastern Europe, with Ukraine being the latest nation sought for membership. If Ukraine were to join NATO, U.S. nuclear missiles could be positioned directly on Russia's border, posing a significant threat. This situation mirrors past U.S. military interventions, such as in Libya. In response, Russia has strongly opposed Ukraine's NATO aspirations and raised concerns about the treatment of Russian-speaking citizens in the Donbas region.
    2. The Situation in Palestine: The South African government has made a compelling case against Israel, describing it as an apartheid state engaged in genocidal actions against the Palestinian people. This includes attempts to annex the Gaza Strip and ongoing violence in the West Bank, where many residents-unconnected to recent conflicts-are suffering daily oppression and hardship.
    3. U.S. Military Support: In both Ukraine and Palestine, the U.S. has leveraged these conflicts to bolster its military presence and influence. This support aligns with broader globalist objectives, enabling the U.S. to maintain its power while shaping regional dynamics to its advantage.
    4. Impact of Economic Sanctions: The U.S. has imposed economic sanctions on Russia with the goal of isolating it from global trade and limiting its oil sales. Contrary to expectations, these sanctions have not weakened Russia; instead, they have fostered economic resilience and even growth in some European nations. Moreover, these sanctions have accelerated a shift away from the dollar as countries seek to insulate themselves from potential U.S. punitive measures. This has contributed to a growing alignment among nations in the Global South towards BRICS.
    These points illustrate the interconnected nature of contemporary conflicts and highlight how U.S. foreign policy attempts to sustain its global dominance, even as it faces mounting challenges.
    Considering this context, the potential for war between Israel and Iran must be viewed with particular attention to these dynamics. Iran has demonstrated its capability to penetrate Israel's defensive systems with its advanced hypersonic missiles. This poses a significant threat, as Iran has openly stated it can devastate critical Israeli infrastructure, including water, electricity, and oil facilities, potentially rendering the country uninhabitable.
    Moreover, the U.S. recognizes that if Israel were to attack Iran and draw the U.S. into the conflict, Iran could retaliate by targeting oil fields and U.S. military bases in the region. Such a scenario could severely disrupt trade routes throughout the Middle East, especially if Iran were to impose blockades on shipping lanes.
    In this volatile landscape, the stakes are high, and the ramifications of any conflict could resonate far beyond the immediate region.

      yeah like not once did he mention that those groups supported by Iran are terrorist groups who are literally trying to take over the countries they're in, theyre responsible for the murdering of families, kids, raping of women and girls in their respective countries. Yet here smwx paints them as these freedom fighters who are all tragically being assassinated by Israel for doing nothing. Kind of a weak assessment if you ask me. I mean he didnt pick up on the fact that egypt, jordan and saudi arabia, kuwait and turkeye have all stayed out of this conflict? Why is that. Surely if Israel was the aggressor here these muslim countries would have flocked to battle against israel. Or maybe these countries can see it for what it is and not what the islamic republic of iran is trying to make it into. War isnt pretty and there isnt a single war since the beginning of modern warfare where innocent civilians havent been killed in the process. Why is israel held to a different standard than any other country at war. Russia butchered entire villages in ukraine, raped women tortured them tossed them in mass graves.... yet no public outcry from the msm. Israel targets leaders of terrorist groups, with alot of them being clean strikes, people lose their minds. America kills osama bin laden the world celebrates. Bit of a double standard much wouldnt you say.

Either invasion is ok or it’s not. If it’s not ok for Israel then why no ICJ cases against Russia for invading a sovereign nation?! Keep in mind Russia was never attacked by Ukraine nor NATO and Ukraine has not joined NATO yet either. Seems like a double standard depending on allies.

      Things that are happening in the Levante will sort themselves out. We should never put ourselves in matters we wield no influence over. What we can influence, as little as that may be, are matters on our beloved continent. We must focus our attention on this. 🤞🏽

    • @justaboredhousewife7804
      @justaboredhousewife7804 9 годин тому

      @@BBSF88, I hear you. You are unfortunately not seeing the bigger picture. If you liberate Palestine, the world benefits, and we can easily liberate the rest of the world. It's a domino effect.
      The US is the evil empire of our time. We are a member of BRICS, which is a trading alliance with the goal of improving our economies. To achieve that goal, we need to take down the US dollar.
      The US has its hand in politics all over the globe. Israel is essential to US dominance in the world, and the resource rich Middle East is a big part of it, so their problems won't just "sort itself out", especially with all the US intervention.
      So you see, you weaken the dollar, and you take down the dollar, which will mean economic freedom for the global south (which we are a part of).

    There was peace in Palestine until Netanyahu came back to power again after facing corruption charges. He showed a map of annexation of Palestine, parts of Saudi Arabia, South Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and Syria in the UN not long ago. Israel under Netanyahu has become a terrorist state, killing civilians, not attacking military sites. Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar died fighting with AK47 in his hand, so was there a need to destroy the whole Palestine? Imagine if those Iranian missiles were targeting civilian infrastructure, many innocent people would have died. Iran supplies Russia with drones and short-range ballistic missiles for Ukraine war, they wont allow Israel to attack it. US must stop arming Netanyahu and these wars will end in middle east. Mandela once said "if you see 2 nations fighting, know that US is involved". you cannot have occupiers calling resistance fighters terrorists. Mandela and ANC leaders were called terrorists by apartheid government.

      Wrong, it’s being rejected as noone is buying the idea anymore of adopting black customs! Even in America where they have been for 2 centuries away from Africa the outcome remains the same. Where blacks move to the economy falls. It’s not as if whites have not tried we just cannot help you not are you our responsibility! Millennials honestly fought for you but we look back and see how very wrong we were. It will never work and we won’t put our children what we were subjected to! Blacks have zero respect for anything and the global backlash doesn’t make it racist but it’s because we all knew it would fail and yet we tried in hope and in vein! When Sizwe calls places like Oranje racist and what’s happening in every space that’s blacks have come into it’s clear as day that it’s an absolute waste of time thinking otherwise! Do tell what part of Southern Africa was not offered to blacks in 94? Yet look at Transvaal and Freestate today! Blacks HAVE ZERO RESPECT and noone wants to be you!

    I have been so consumed by the developments in the Middle Eastern conflict. And the basics really land what the point of it all is, in my humble opinion.
    Here’s what I’ve gathered in my little understanding. There is a concept of ‘greater Israel’ which essentially means an expansion of Israeli territories… this concept/aim is driven by what the Jews (who believe they are the chosen people in accordance with the Torah) have convinced themselves they have a rightful claim to. The occupancy of Isreal is sometimes referred to as illegitimate… to which the Jews usually argue, post Hitler era, we arrived in the promised land, and we bought the land. Then the question becomes, which parts? Send proof. There has been a militant displacement of natives of that land, and I use natives to refer to recent occupants (at the time when the Jews arrived as settlers). That displacement has increased in violence and intensity on the Israeli neighbouring countries overtime since 1948, with those in close proximity receiving the worst end of that aspiration, namely, Lebanon and Palestine.
    Your summary is awesome, but there is a greater context to ‘how did we get here’. I feel violated as a human, 17,000 + children died and we couldn’t be furtherer to a resolve. It’s really concerning

  • @jpraubenheimer
    @jpraubenheimer День тому +3

    This was an interesting analysis. I don't totally agree with some aspects of it though, and think some of the linear analysis of like-for-like comparisons is oversimplified.
    (1) Drawing equivalencies between a western alliance of nation states (with broad agreement on values and ideology), and Iran and its proxy war partners is misleading. Iran aims to destabilize for broader reasons and uses it's proxies' local issues to stimulate these battles (for example what is Shia Iran's incentive to empower Sunni Palestine while having tension with Sunni Saudi?). There is no equivalence, and the Iranian leadership does not represent the will of its people in any meaningful way (what would happen in Iran if they held free and fair democratic elections?).
    (2) The analysis completely ignores the US elections, but considers a BRICS summit? How can this be? The outcome of the US elections will have very different results for US involvement in the Middle East and how it approaches the conflict? In fact any action from Israel at this stage before those elections would be premature. A Trump presidency vs a Harris presidency would lead the US in almost opposite directions?
    (3) I do think that in the case of Russia - its immediate incentive and priority is Ukraine. As an energy power, Russia is incentivized to destabilize the Middle East - not out of duty, but in order to steer US (and hence NATO) support away from Ukraine, while also benefiting from rising energy prices where possible. In the same way - China's incentive is far more about Taiwan than any sense of duty to the Middle East, and having the US tied up in the Middle East suits them. Russia and China's support for Iran has a lot more to do with their own incentives than any sense of agreement on Iranian viewpoints or ideology.
    (4) I would argue that BRICS is not a unified force. China, India and Russia (the 3 real key players) have conflicting incentives and objectives. India and China are in conflict about their border. India is part of the QUAD alliance which shares intelligence against China and Russia? China is dependent on US and EU trade which empowers the CCP to maintain the promise of continued prosperity for Chinese people. Add to that the Sunni vs Shia tensions between Saudi and Iran? It is not reasonable to think the BRICS nations have some sort of united leverage... I agree that the west has long had the upper hand in the overall global power dynamic - and it makes sense for other countries to push back at some point - but having a valid point is not the same thing as being in the driver seat.
    (5) South Africa (and other African countries) would do well to reflect on the reality instead of being blinded by their own emotions. Colonization was an exploitative and mercantilist thing that the west did (but bad is not the same thing as irrational). People across Africa are within their right to be angry about it. It's also not that different to what China does today, and which Africa mistakenly embraces (ask Angola or Kenya how Chinese partnership has worked out). SA (and Africa) should be aware that their biases can be used against them by other players in global politics (just like Iran does with its proxy battles). Its not to say other non-western countries are as outraged about these things as they might pretend.
    Each country has its own incentives and agenda, and I think its best to analyze geopolitics through the lens of incentive structures (objective) rather than the lens of good vs bad (subjective). But, incentive structures are about capitalizing on opportunities - not about doing the right thing. The winner is the smartest person in the room - not the nicest person in the room. Its a game of chess not a friendly picnic.
    Of course - this is simply my 2c worth. Clearly I don't know everything it takes to solve the worlds problems! 🤣

Secondly although about 3% of missiles and 10 % of drones made it through Israeli air defenses, only one person was killed, a Palestinian from the West bank. Thirdly you failed to mention that the Iranian regime is extremely unpopular with the Iranian people while Netanyahus support in Israel has been growing. Finally and most importantly, the Iranians do not possess air defenses. I go further than you in making a prediction. In light of the foregoing arguments, I believe Israels strikes on Iran are likely to mean the end of that odious regime and it's malign influence in that region.
