I even resisted the temptation to do what I did to play 2K22, which was to buy the super-discounted premium edition for $20, where it came with the 100kVC included. Not ideal, but affordable. Sure, I WANT to play the newer versions of the game, but I'm not going to pay $70-80 for the base game, then have to pay ANOTHER $50 per character to make them reasonably playable. This corporate greed garbage has to stop. If I keep paying into it, then I'm just part of the problem, you know?
My issue with NBA 2K as a whole, compared to other sports games, is that I always feel my players move too fast / too sensitive. Someone has the ball, and I go towards them, my player goes from left to right for example, but it's too much to the left or right. It's nearly impossible for my player to not move so damn much, and as a result, players past by me.
This is the #1 issue on defense for real. It was very controllable 2k20, then 21 had HORRIBLE sliding on defense and they’ve never been able to completely remove it yet
Exactly. And when it’s vice versa and you’re the one with the ball, you can barely blow by the defender even if you aren’t touching them.(even with the attributes and badges)

I can tell u never played HOF difficulty because if u did you would know that ever since 2k22 the ai are glitchy af on HOF difficulty. If u create a shifty build with good ball handling and play against HOF ai just watch the feet of the defender, they literally slide across the court when guarding u and slow u down without touching u, despite you having high speed with ball attributes. Just test it out yourself

In the last couple of 2K’s I swear that players move faster than their legs move. It’s been so annoying cause everyone is sliding all over and there’s nothing you can do about it cause the speed at which they move is ridiculous.
bro i noticed that too 😂😂 players move like 10 feet over, but only took 2 ACTUAL footsteps.. first it drags them to start moving (at this point they’re 4 feet over without any steps) then they actually take a couple footsteps, then to stop moving, you get dragged another 4 feet to actually come to a stop 😂😂 … on 20 NONE of this was an issue.. with all the tech and internet improving, HOW TF do you decline… it’s been 4 years since 20 but 21&22&23&24 are all WORSE than 20

Feels like I lost a yearly tradition, but microtransactions VC stupid Quest, them catering to park people instead of foundational players who made NBA 2K what it is. So far it looks pretty much the same since 2k21 next gen, maybe next year might be a leap but that's probably a leap too much to ask. I say this was sadness my first NBA 2K ever missed.

The lobs are broken. Scoring around the rim is inconsistent. They tweaked the shooting. The shooting was already broken last year. Now, I can’t tell if its better or worse, it is just different. But certainly not fixed. I also think the game looks identical, maybe even slightly worse.
I believe the graphics look way better and a bit darker than last year. i haven't played enough to comment about the gameplay during PlayNow quick plays, but so far, i've enjoyed it. I feel like it's a bit tough to score a layup against traffic, but simulation speaking, that's how it is in real life. so unless you got an open lane, you're going to probably get fouled or miss.

I've been playing 2k for 20 years since dreamcast. I lost love for 2k the last few years. This the first time I haven't pre ordered the game, neither have I purchase it period. By this time last year would of already dropped around 250 plus on a build. Game hasn't changed in 3 or 4 years. Not wasting my time or money on 2k this year.

One thing that wasn’t mentioned in the video is that he is playing on console which supports next-gen and has story mode in my career and supports pro-play. You’re not going to get any of these features on PC just be aware of that.
This game actively discourages grinding and experimenting with other builds. Its taken elements from RPG games and injected it into a basketball game behind a paywall.
The controls are outrageous they make it so hard with this dribble combos and every dunk attempt I make and lob just bounces away, they make the controls so complicated and yet charge you full price for this game
I just picked up the game yesterday (10/22/23) for $47 after tax via Amazon for PS5 and for someone that’s been essentially playing every year mostly in MyTeam and some franchise, I was pleasantly surprised at how fun the on-court gameplay is. I started my Wizards modern NBA franchise and I even played a bit of MyTeam offline. Overall I’m happy with the game as long as I can keep myself from spending on mtx.
I stay away from the online gameplays, so I mostly be on My career, is it worth it ? Like is the storyline actually good ? If you’ve played it at all ?

You can create your own player and use player lock so it would be like a bootleg my career without the storyline. But since storyline is what you like then go ahead and play it im sure you would enjoy it but I think it always gets repetitive

That's intentional, 2k's marketing is all about hype and not about substance, just like their game. They don't want actual gameplay out there bc the games just a revised version of the previous year and it would hurt pre orders.

They didn’t buff paint defense they just nerfed the hell out of finishing.. can’t dunk the ball worth a damn without being taken out of your animation and the shooting is damn near impossible without meter.
What about people that on play MYNBA and play now modes, but they play those modes every weekend? Is the gameplay much different than last years version? Do plays actually work this year? Most of plays didn’t work last year, so I ran a high pick and pop offense.

What 2k needs to change from a dedicated 15 year 2k vet..... 1. They need to stop showing peoples stats in games, completely and go back to how it used to be in old pro am. 2. They need to put the PA commentators back in rec/pro am and actually use our custom names like old proam which was rec. 3. They need to completely remove greening dunks, and go back to the old dunking system. 4. They need to remove crossplay. 5. They need to remove the rep system and go back to road to 99 without dropping people back down for a bad game, remove rebirth tokens and only allow rebirth on specific builds as opposed to any build, too many ppl running around with 99s they grinded in a day. which leads to 6. They need to remove badge regression and let people pick their badges again. 7. They need to completely redo dribbling and deal with the dribble spamming issues as soon as they arise, crack down on exploits as soon as they start. 8. They need to keep the season system but make the rewards much better, people love free stuff, however things we get from the rep system should be rewarded in season while certain things everyone will want should always be attainable like +5 to all stats should be a reward for hitting 99. 9. They need to keep their servers fixed and up to date and Never adjust latency it should be done perfectly the first time. 10. they need to give back the ability to speak to the other team in rec, that should only be taken away in proam, too much hostility is created among team mates ppl forget who the opponents are, speaking of hostility...11. They need to completely remove the black to purple ranking system, and also remove anything that shows a persons season levels, when you create so much separation you encourage people to sell eachother, trash talk eachother, and of course refuse to play with other, the community is toxic because so many players get treated like trash, that was never the case in old rec which was called proam, it was no squads all random, nobody saw anyones stats and people came out there to try and win, there were rarely and fights or sellouts. 12... they need to not make vc cheaper, keep stats and clothes expensive its fine, but they need to pay alot more vc for accomplishments in game, even if you loose in park that should be a guaranteed 1000+ vc, my career should pay well over 5000 vc per game just for the win, and rec and proam should pay well over 10k vc per win, then the amount of vc you get for each price should be raised by a little bit. To remove the pay to win aspect season rewards shouldnt give anything that helps in game, that should come with the 99, the grind to 99 should be alot harder, capping anyone and everyone at an 85 and making people work to level up, by doing so there will be alot more diversity, everyone having a 99 in the early days of the game is just boring, and lazy. 13. They need to put intimidator back in the game, they separated it into two badges, for interior and exterior defense. Because of that foolish move we have 6ft shooters pulling up threes over 7ft shaqs and lebrons with no worries. And with the ability to pick your own badges we would see alot more diversity in defense as well as offense. 14. They need to automatically give certain badges according to height, weight, and wingspan. Things like intimidator should be auto with someone really tallk, really strong, or with really long KD like arms. 15. They need to ban not just the accounts, but entire ip addresses, some computer games like pokemon do this all the time. Ban them for hacking, boosting, or using any sort of cheats or modded controllers. Using a 3 strike system until they get perma banned. 16. They need to completely remove banning and punishing people for quitting games. Most people dont mind ai players on their team and speaking of Ai players. 17. They need to nerf ai players ability to shoot, and change the tendacies to just stand at the 3 point line, even ai players with a 25 3 pnt shot hang out at the 3 line and green 3s left and right. They need to add more tendacies to things like iso, setting picks and screens, and post ups, also handles, the ai players should be no different than in my career. 18. If the other team forfeits you should still get all rewards earned up to that point. 19. They need to fix the openess, directional, distance, passing sliders, they are broken. 20. Lastly, they need to start communication banning people for racial slurs, threats, and believe it or not, bullying, its become a huge problem in 2k and has even lead to people being killed, but they dont talk about that, being from south chicago i know multiple people who were killed over online beef started in 2k. The number is likely in the 10s-20s every year..... Bonus 21. They need to stop using kobe as the face on the cover, its insulting to one of the goats after he has passed on. Fix the game first then use it, but chances are, Kobe would be mad they took that honer from top prospects and players who had dreams of being put on the cover of 2k, its a thing.

Freestyle online head to head have the fixed shooting? My biggest problem is players simply didn’t hit shots when I’m online , it felt like a delay in response from when I pushed shoot to when they actually would shoot throwing off my timing big time and missing all shots.
I've found it's always worth waiting for at least a 2 yr cycle to spend money on 2k games. To be honest that wait would be even longer for me if they didn't shut the servers down after like 3yrs. Kinda cheeky of them pretty much forcing ppl to buy their new games or most ppl would still be playing 19 as it's their best title in the past 4yrs.
I’m an mynba eras guy. Guess I’ll continue my hbcu league. Hakeem Olajuwon is still playing in 2005. I drafted him in 83 and his son and puppet son are in the league. 2k has its problems but still better than madden. Hell fifa got more and I just played soccer game for the first time since og xbox.

Thats a tough one.. it’s worth it though if it’s your first 2k game. Cant say no to elden ring as well though. I would say just buy whichever because at the end or the day, you can sell it to FB marketplace and lose just probably $5 bucks through the process

I have a pc and only use my PS4 for 2k so I’ve never wanted to upgrade. I like the idea of more trade offs as an inside big I hated 6’9 Cs that were fast, could shoot, could drive, and could defend me. I’m 7’2 with 97 close shot and 90 standing dunk with HOF scoring badges you should be BBQ chicken near the rim
They destroyed this game on so many ways, I'm so disappointed and went back to 2k23, I keep asking me if they're stupid because what they done is very stupid, they even have next gen new badges that are overpowered and took away badges in current gen. I've never seen a videogame from 4 stars go to half a star in just one game.

I've been playing 2k for 20 years since dreamcast. I lost love for 2k the last few years. This the first time I haven't pre ordered the game, neither have I purchase it period. By this time last year would of already dropped around 250 plus on a build. Game hasn't changed in 3 or 4 years. Not wasting my time or money on 2k this year.

One thing that wasn’t mentioned in the video is that he is playing on console which supports next-gen and has story mode in my career and supports pro-play. You’re not going to get any of these features on PC just be aware of that.

This game actively discourages grinding and experimenting with other builds. Its taken elements from RPG games and injected it into a basketball game behind a paywall.
The controls are outrageous they make it so hard with this dribble combos and every dunk attempt I make and lob just bounces away, they make the controls so complicated and yet charge you full price for this game
I’m mainly an Eras player and I was really hoping to hear if the AI has improved (i.e. more realistic instead of just dunks/layups and threes)
They would be better off just updating the game instead of dropping new games every year

I just picked up the game yesterday (10/22/23) for $47 after tax via Amazon for PS5 and for someone that’s been essentially playing every year mostly in MyTeam and some franchise, I was pleasantly surprised at how fun the on-court gameplay is. I started my Wizards modern NBA franchise and I even played a bit of MyTeam offline. Overall I’m happy with the game as long as I can keep myself from spending on mtx.
I stay away from the online gameplays, so I mostly be on My career, is it worth it ? Like is the storyline actually good ? If you’ve played it at all ?

@@DOUBLEA21xI don’t have 2k24 but the game is always way more fun offline. Specially playing my league with customizable sliders to make it more realistic. You can create your own player and use player lock so it would be like a bootleg my career without the storyline. But since storyline is what you like then go ahead and play it im sure you would enjoy it but I think it always gets repetitive

That's intentional, 2k's marketing is all about hype and not about substance, just like their game. They don't want actual gameplay out there bc the games just a revised version of the previous year and it would hurt pre orders.

They didn’t buff paint defense they just nerfed the hell out of finishing.. can’t dunk the ball worth a damn without being taken out of your animation and the shooting is damn near impossible without meter.
What about people that on play MYNBA and play now modes, but they play those modes every weekend? Is the gameplay much different than last years version? Do plays actually work this year? Most of plays didn’t work last year, so I ran a high pick and pop offense.
They don’t have next gen on PC and the current gen version looks identical. I’ve been playin 2k since 2012 and this is gunna be the year is skip sadly. EA needs to make an NBA game to force 2k into actually giving a shit again.

How about if you are a player who doesn’t want to play online or get started in My Career mode… and you just want to play a few 82 game seasons against the computer using your favorite NBA team? Is it worth buying then?

What 2k needs to change from a dedicated 15 year 2k vet..... 1. They need to stop showing peoples stats in games, completely and go back to how it used to be in old pro am. 2. They need to put the PA commentators back in rec/pro am and actually use our custom names like old proam which was rec. 3. They need to completely remove greening dunks, and go back to the old dunking system. 4. They need to remove crossplay. 5. They need to remove the rep system and go back to road to 99 without dropping people back down for a bad game, remove rebirth tokens and only allow rebirth on specific builds as opposed to any build, too many ppl running around with 99s they grinded in a day. which leads to 6. They need to remove badge regression and let people pick their badges again. 7. They need to completely redo dribbling and deal with the dribble spamming issues as soon as they arise, crack down on exploits as soon as they start. 8. They need to keep the season system but make the rewards much better, people love free stuff, however things we get from the rep system should be rewarded in season while certain things everyone will want should always be attainable like +5 to all stats should be a reward for hitting 99.
9. They need to keep their servers fixed and up to date and Never adjust latency it should be done perfectly the first time. 10. they need to give back the ability to speak to the other team in rec, that should only be taken away in proam, too much hostility is created among team mates ppl forget who the opponents are, speaking of hostility...11. They need to completely remove the black to purple ranking system, and also remove anything that shows a persons season levels, when you create so much separation you encourage people to sell eachother, trash talk eachother, and of course refuse to play with other, the community is toxic because so many players get treated like trash, that was never the case in old rec which was called proam, it was no squads all random, nobody saw anyones stats and people came out there to try and win, there were rarely and fights or sellouts. 12... they need to not make vc cheaper, keep stats and clothes expensive its fine, but they need to pay alot more vc for accomplishments in game, even if you loose in park that should be a guaranteed 1000+ vc, my career should pay well over 5000 vc per game just for the win, and rec and proam should pay well over 10k vc per win, then the amount of vc you get for each price should be raised by a little bit. To remove the pay to win aspect season rewards shouldnt give anything that helps in game, that should come with the 99, the grind to 99 should be alot harder, capping anyone and everyone at an 85 and making people work to level up, by doing so there will be alot more diversity, everyone having a 99 in the early days of the game is just boring, and lazy. 13. They need to put intimidator back in the game, they separated it into two badges, for interior and exterior defense. Because of that foolish move we have 6ft shooters pulling up threes over 7ft shaqs and lebrons with no worries. And with the ability to pick your own badges we would see alot more diversity in defense as well as offense. 14. They need to automatically give certain badges according to height, weight, and wingspan. Things like intimidator should be auto with someone really tallk, really strong, or with really long KD like arms. 15. They need to ban not just the accounts, but entire ip addresses, some computer games like pokemon do this all the time. Ban them for hacking, boosting, or using any sort of cheats or modded controllers. Using a 3 strike system until they get perma banned. 16. They need to completely remove banning and punishing people for quitting games. Most people dont mind ai players on their team and speaking of Ai players. 17. They need to nerf ai players ability to shoot, and change the tendacies to just stand at the 3 point line, even ai players with a 25 3 pnt shot hang out at the 3 line and green 3s left and right. They need to add more tendacies to things like iso, setting picks and screens, and post ups, also handles, the ai players should be no different than in my career. 18. If the other team forfeits you should still get all rewards earned up to that point. 19. They need to fix the openess, directional, distance, passing sliders, they are broken. 20. Lastly, they need to start communication banning people for racial slurs, threats, and believe it or not, bullying, its become a huge problem in 2k and has even lead to people being killed, but they dont talk about that, being from south chicago i know multiple people who were killed over online beef started in 2k. The number is likely in the 10s-20s every year..... Bonus 21. They need to stop using kobe as the face on the cover, its insulting to one of the goats after he has passed on. Fix the game first then use it, but chances are, Kobe would be mad they took that honer from top prospects and players who had dreams of being put on the cover of 2k, its a thing.

Freestyle online head to head have the fixed shooting? My biggest problem is players simply didn’t hit shots when I’m online , it felt like a delay in response from when I pushed shoot to when they actually would shoot throwing off my timing big time and missing all shots.
I've found it's always worth waiting for at least a 2 yr cycle to spend money on 2k games. To be honest that wait would be even longer for me if they didn't shut the servers down after like 3yrs. Kinda cheeky of them pretty much forcing ppl to buy their new games or most ppl would still be playing 19 as it's their best title in the past 4yrs.

Thats a tough one.. it’s worth it though if it’s your first 2k game. Cant say no to elden ring as well though. I would say just buy whichever because at the end or the day, you can sell it to FB marketplace and lose just probably $5 bucks through the process
