Irina is the most exciting character for me in season 4, so I made a character study fanvid.
Made for fun, no profit gained.

Fantastic video! Irina really was the MVP of the season. You capture her perfectly here.

When she says "Its ok you're safe now" You could have shown Sergei saying"You're not safe, Margo" right after

Ну, технически мир описан неплохой, от нефти уже отказались... Но пока что подозрительно нет мобилок, а уже 2003.

they could make the hook up at least haahaha honestly this video felt more about their two as platonic au love inerest.. .irina was obsessed with margo! so jealous of sergei tht well, we know what happened to him. GREAT EDIT, also I read some comments, about margot's russian accent being like american (ofc is her mother tongue and it is hard to learn a language in your 50s) but besides that very good russian! its true??? how did you feel? for me is hilarious when in tv shows people speak spanish, here was quite realistic, latino's vibes, but other times is awful!

re: platonic love \ obsession: I feel like Irina was more of cultivating that feeling in Margo than feeling it herself. She knew she needed good results as a head of Roskosmos, and she knew she was no scientist, so she needed Margo's brain badly to show good work (which if you don;t, you don't last too long). Margo was so lonely for years and so deprived of any human contact that I honestly thought their dinamic was heading into a romantic area. Like, show Margo some kindness, and she's as loyal as it gets (but we see how that happened even without actual relationship, cos Margo was super certain Irina was a good person and could never so bad stuff to other ppl). I would have prefered Irina to have gone an extra mile and pulled Margo into a relantionship. She was - it seemed - heading that way, but then deemed it unnecessary. Not to mention it was good and handy for Irina to have her own pocket trusted person with no other interests or contacts, so Margo could be the safest option for her too, but well...
re: jealousy: this idea never crossed my mind! Interesting. I was more thinking that Irina was angry with Sergei for defecting, cos it couldn't have been good for her career (how she made it thru is a miracle). But at the same time her reaction to Margo's accusaion in Houston - Irina seemed genuinely sad abt Sergei, so perhaps she didn't wven want him dead. Just torn between being angry and feeling attachment to him after having worked for so many years?
re: Margo's russian: first of all, I was super relieved to know they didn't try to pose Margo as a russian native. Her canadian cover was a great choice, I was really really worried they'd pretend she spoke fluent russian (and honestly, having English as ur first and only language, not even 10 years are enough to get rid of the accent, I know some ameticans who moved to Russia 20 years ago and while they are fluent, their accent is so heavy). Her Russian was better sometimes and then worse toher instances. With complex terminology or quicker paced phrases it was such a mess lol. It was also super cute how her intonations wouldn't be fitting to the centence, but rather show how proud she was to have said that and finishaed it LOL They could've done a bit better with her Russian, but then honestly, who cares aslong as non-russian speaking audience can clearly understand that it is indeed russian. Oh, and I was happy that the only issues were pronunciation. Grammar and words were spot on (minus Ieina saying 2003 in a strange incorrect way, but that's another story). American shows depicting russian went so far compared to, say, Alias.
