What i have read in the book is that if a node which needs to be deleted, has only one child then we set the node's child as the child of node's parent. So here 17:00 to delete the node containing the value 10, we will set the the node( containing 14 ) as the right child of root node( containing 10 ). Correct me if I'm wrong.
