This is a Chinese made missile and they know what is Barak8 missiles defence system is, so for India this Chinese missile is nothing more than a nuisance

This is the type of stuff I love DCS for. JSOWs were a great addition, but it's basically just a glorified JDAM, and even though those are fun, the complexity threshold is quite easy once you figure out the way the plane wants you to do things.
Thanks for all your tutorials. They've been a great help. Just to add, the CM-802AKG missile REQUIRES MITL steering at terminal phase for ALL 3 modes (DIR, COO, MAN) to hit its target. In MAN mode, it's understood MITL steering is required. But in DIR (SPI) and COO (PP) modes, it's not always apparent that MITL steering is ALSO REQUIRED despite having an SPI or PP. If we look at the SLAM-ER or Walleye missiles, they both have the fire-and-forget option of not requiring the use of the datalink pod and MITL steering, and will still hit their targets (PP/TOO for SLAM-ER, locked target for Walleye). So if you fly Western aircraft like the F18/F16, you are used to the idea that the weapon will hit a locked target or target coordinates. But this is not so with the CM-802AKG in DCS. It sees a locked target (DIR) or pre-planned coordinates (COO) as just 'waypoints'. The current manuals do not clarify this enough. It would be a unusual if Deka's CM-802AKG in DIR and COO modes are true to real life. Cheers!
Jf17- Pros - Has better weaponry when compared to any other dcs aircraft, A-G, AA, SEAD, AS Has really good weapom systems to control these weapons. Has a rear MAWS. So I launched the C-802AKG in both COO and MAN mode, and weirdly in both cases the missiles did a 180 and headed out to the sea. They weren't headed for any point of relevance (DST 00, 01, 02 or 30-34, 35-39,40-41 etc). They were just heading out of the map. Wondering if that's a bug. Tested twice, same result.
Isn´t is possible simply to designate targets with the TGP without setting any navigation target point in the Mission Editor so the cruise missiles work like C-701?

It is the 8th model of the series and it is the 3rd modification of it. C-802, is actually the export version of YJ-82 missiles with YJ-83 technologies.

It just barely works as advertised... and not at all in MP (akg). Everything I've tried in MP results in missile leaving rail and turning left (or West maybe) That's my 2 days of experimenting anyway. How do you set SPI from Hud?

The mission for this where you have to hit a HVT with one of these is so frustrating. There are SAMs literally surrounding the target area, the waypoints are wonky, and you can’t actually see the target you’re supposed to hit. I also had no idea about the datalink part either so…
These are too cool. I’m so happy with the JF-17, it means I can leave the viper and hornet in the hanger, until they mature.

Sounds like the cold start bug.
It's a known bug, the missiles do not behave correctly in a cold start scenario. Should be fixed in the next patch.
how cna you fire it from 24nm? I cant seem to fire it from 20 even...
You can also lock the missile to a target like the c-701 when controlling the final phase
