I knew this guy from when I worked at the Sacramento, CA guitar center drum department. He’s never sounded better! He gave me an awesome compliment on my New Orleans style “street beat” approach one day when I was wanking on lunch break! ✌️
Robert Struder And here we have an even more tasteless yet fully-grown adult throwing insults purely out of their own ill intent. You, sir, have no place here.
As a metal drummer, this is both super helpful and also very difficult lmao. Im always violently smashing that snare at a bpm so fast u cant even see it lol
There’s a difference between a Diddle and a buzz though. Eric has an excellent drummer but he’s so ear and talented that he’s not the best teacher in the world, gota love his playing though. The last thing he did was R l l mostly.
So glad I grew up with a Pro in my house......I'm not a percussionist but I remember sitting on a kit when I was a kid, and reproducing an (it was a very weird time signature) off-beat signature naturally. My dad didn't leave me with much, but raising me around so many musicians had lasting benefits. The only advice I can give an up- and-comer is to use your emotions to channel....and use music that inspires those emotions as a wellspring to help channel. Using this method allows you to soak in Music like a sponge, and incorporate it into your play naturally, and you won't just be reproducing another's sound.
A little secret he forgot to mention is that all of his actual snare hits were rimshots, so if you really wanna get the same sound he did, you'll have to do the same, won't get the same contrast on the ghost notes otherwise
Ok so those are michael carvins right? (Im talking about his sticks) Why are the heads larger than mine, the coloring is the same I would think they would bee exact copies... Are they custom ordered or does nobody know?
In my opinion and please let me first say you are a master at your craft, but to me ghost notes are like playing on top of a beat leaving a player time to roll & fill before coming back on time with beat
Check out Theo Croker if you like this style......his drummer uses ghost notes. He's a proto-Jazz front Trumpet guy, but he has great taste in percussionists.
Is it even possible to play somethin thats never been done before? Jesus fuck, can a guy just watch a video without commenting somethin negative? Everybody is such a way better player, knows so much more bla bla bla. We all real proud of all you you folks who think music is some dick measuring contest. You people make this sooooo much fun....
I absolutely love that kit. Great color.
Record yourself/playback/watch-very true statement. I was able to see ALOT of flaws in my technique, but correct and work them out recording myself.
Jacob Walker The hardest, yet most valuable thing to do.
Yeah I did that as well and how do we say got "real humble " afterwards lol
That's one crispy snare...
I know, right?
I swear percussion just keeps getting better sounding over the years. Even from the 90s 2000s...
Technology.
That's one crispy drummer
This guy is a beast and is so humble and cool, definetly my favorite drummer.
He's the best.

The one on arden? Did you know Leo Reyes?
Oh, for Christ's sake, what a tasteless, stupid, and uncalled-for posting. You're a simpleton, Mr. Elliot.
Robert Struder And here we have an even more tasteless yet fully-grown adult throwing insults purely out of their own ill intent. You, sir, have no place here.
Wanking on lunch break 😏

Robert Struder we can all say the same about your dumbass comment... oh wait this is probably bait
Thanks Brother for inspiring me. Man your notes are always so clean.

As a metal drummer, this is both super helpful and also very difficult lmao. Im always violently smashing that snare at a bpm so fast u cant even see it lol

Help us sow people out. What constitutes a GHOST NOTE? What does it do? How is it created? What’s the timing?
A little secret he forgot to mention is that all of his actual snare hits were rimshots, so if you really wanna get the same sound he did, you'll have to do the same, won't get the same contrast on the ghost notes otherwise
It took Me maaany yrs to realized Id neglected that fact in teaching

In my opinion and please let me first say you are a master at your craft, but to me ghost notes are like playing on top of a beat leaving a player time to roll & fill before coming back on time with beat
Well yeah.....that's pretty much what you're doing. Spaces & silence in between notes are where magic happens.
Who gave this guy a thumbs down?
Idk, I'd guess Lars.
Phillip Amuso if you think he’s not a musician, then what does that make you? 😂
@@MyFriendsPodcast apparently it just makes him the world's premier pseudo-intelectual percussionist that has never plateaued.
Ghost notes scare the hell outta me.
Here he goes again!, making me wanna be a drummer. Shits tight bruh.
GODDAMN BRAH,YOURE A FREAKIN BEAST YO!
