Rick Underwood does the makeup for Geoff and VoicePlay. He also works at Universal Studios. That was Kathy (his wife) filming the Zero scenes at their home. I checked and you have done Hellfire, but it never showed up on my feed. (I am definitely subscribed!). So I’m headed there next. But I’ll also be looking for another Geoff reaction tomorrow.
Geoff creates all the music on his videos. On piano, or keyboard with plugins, and as you say on the harmonica. Check out the credits under the title of the video, it will tell you everything. :) Geof is a great actor as well as a great singer.
I think Geoff did such a brilliant and amazing version of this song! His voice is perfect for this. He is just so damn talented! (And this is coming from someone who has been a Danny Elfman fan since at least 1983!!!! Love that red-headed maniac...but Geoff absolutely blew the roof off this song!)
Loved it guys! This was another awesome one - although it was recorded at PattyCake Studios, it was pretty much just Geoff and Kathy (apart from another amazing job by Rick Underwood with the makeup - so good, it took Geoff 2 days to get all the black off!). Most of the set came from their yard (pumpkins, moon, graveyard railings, etc), with loans from Pattycake (the piano, pillars, gravestones - did you spot the one with 'Haunted Mansion' on it?). Took them 4 days to set up, film and tear down again...!
This particular song, in this particular version, touches me deeply. Geoff conveys the sadness, loneliness, longing and, yes, pain of Jack so powerfully that I can't help finding myself at the edge of tears... Or beyond. 😢 And when , in the aftermath, the snow start falling and he looks up, sees it, and reaches to touch it... He gives off just a hint of e sweet, soft, faint, hopeful smile. And that hits me so deep and so beautifully that I can't help crying, but with a tad of hope and joy and lightheartedness. 🥲 As always, enjoyed your reaction. And I'll be tuned for the next one... 😁. See you next time!
You guys are so funny. Reaction before the video. Kathy animated Zero, Rick Underwood (I think he does Disney although it may be Universal) does complicated makeup. It is beautiful while still spooky. Most of the Halloween props came from Geoff's and Kathy's home.
I love Nightmare before Christmas, and this song always made me tear up, But Geoff Has made this song truly come to life and givin it a more melancholy feel. And this song definitely needed a low bass cover. I definitely felt the sadness and loneliness of this song. So amazing!! Great reaction!!
This was always my favorite song of the movie. There’s somethings so sad about Jack being locked into the pumpkin king role when all he wants to do is something a little different. In the movie it is before he goes to Christmas town and the iconic scene that I always think of is when he is on that spiral hill. Danny Elfman wrote the score as he did for Batman, Edward Scissorhands and the Simpsons (and a whole bunch of other stuff). Danny also sang this song in the movie. He was the lead singer for Oingo Boingo. I only learned that because I like listening to the scores of certain movies and kept seeing his name. But you look like you’re the right age group to have known of Oingo Boingo if not listened to it.
@@janetdw Geoff Is a great actor & reaches deep down into your soul with this song The original actor & singer in the movie can't act or convey the emotion at all. No other singer has either.
I already commented this, though admittedly quite late, on another of your Geoff reactions, I think it was Folsom Prison Blues, but if you enjoy soulful Geoff, you should really have a look at his rendition of "Ain't no Sunshine" by Bill Withers. It's so ridiculously good in so many ways! What I enjoy most about Geoff's work is how he manages to be so damn creative with his covers, while still remaining extremely respectful towards the original piece.
I get what you're saying. I've seen the movie about a thousand times and he still brought the character to life for me in a different way. It's pretty wild how he does that. Ghost Riders was my favorite until he dropped this one, lol, so I guess I'll be seeing you guys tomorrow! ❤
As far as I know the boys are just struggling with life and that’s okay. We all do. We have been giving them plenty of space and a loving hand when they need it.
In the original movie Danny Elfman played the part of Jack. He wasn't a very good actor for the part. No other cover songs showed the different emotions or acting skills like Geoff did.. Geoffs has a way of reaching deep down into your soul with his vocals & acting skills. Thank you guys for another great reaction to Geoff ❤
Geoffs' makeup is the Magic of Rick Underwood.

He is also great at playing bass guitar...
With his voice!
@@Mark_Agamotto1313_Smith Yes ht's a walking bass guitar. :)
The lady working the zero puppet is Kathy Geoff’s wife who is voiceplay’s production manager ❤🏴
Wow! Another Geoff reaction in the works? I can't wait for you guys to meet Daryl!
I like the way the ending leads into "What's This?" Voiceplay did that one a few years ago. Great reaction as always...
It's from just before he finds Christmas Town.
I just rewatched this movie, and this song is right near the beginning. The movie opens with "This is Halloween," followed closely by this song.
You guys are great as always! Geoff is awesome as always! I always look forward to your reactions. 🎃
Geoff, The Man, The Myth, The Legend!!! He's Off The Chart!!! Enjoy Y'alls Reactions!!!
Awesome reaction

Pausing and rewinding is exactly, what a good reaction needs, so no apologies for that.

As always...Geoff nailed it!! He's amazing!
I can't believe I wasn't already subscribed! Love your guy's vids!
Thanks so much! We love and appreciate you more than you know

I like his Way Down cover and also Til Then.
This is an amazing performance by the "rumbling artist!" You two created a great reaction! You Really NEED to do Ghost Riders!! TWO Geoffs??? 😉
GEOFF CASTELLUCCI IS THE HOLLWEEN KING!!
I love Nightmare before Christmas, and this song always made me tear up, But Geoff Has made this song truly come to life and givin it a more melancholy feel. And this song definitely needed a low bass cover. I definitely felt the sadness and loneliness of this song. So amazing!! Great reaction!!
I think I got the sub covered.
Out of all of Geoff's solo covers, I think this is my favorite. He just did such an amazing job.

Made a point of checking - yup! Still subscribed! Terrific reaction! Excited to see the next one!

I stayed - can't wait 😅
This song was actually sang by Danny Elfman and not the voice actor for Jack.
Geoff never fails to thrive in his videos.
Has anyone heard from Sauceydad? He would lose his mind over this. Hope Nick is OK. Great reaction. Rick Underwood is VoicePlay's makeup artist.
As far as I know the boys are just struggling with life and that’s okay. We all do. We have been giving them plenty of space and a loving hand when they need it.
The original was sung by Danny Elfman (Oingo Boingo)... definitely not a lower register voice. Still awesome reaction!

You misspelled the song title.
Lol.
Nu uh…. 🙃
