Never _ever_ trust one. Black shorts for the win. Running promotes gut motility. Belated thanks to the Aldi in Alnwick for the prolonged use of their "facilities" in November at 8km into a very hilly 10km run.
@@RobDickson69 Any runner who's been running for a few years will have at least one toilet emergency story to tell. And they aren't shy about telling them!
I actually really appreciated the potty talk, so to speak. Pooh happens, and we runners don't always have easily accessible, open channels for learning about, discussing and strategizing for those times when it does. So being frank about our own experiences and sharing what we know is genuinely helpful. I welcome more insights and tips for what to do when ya gotta pooh! Thank you, team!
19:55 It was indeed a very well documented video. Just wondering what Kipchoge's PB would be if he had to carry a camera, film it himself, talk about his experience of running it, providing advice and entertainment...whilst being jet-lagged? Will we ever see Sarah vs Eliud on a level playing field?
I just cannot express how much I love this format. First you three have excellent chemistry and listening to you is fun! Your range of experience and pace is great too. The honesty you all have is great too. As a non-pro or influencer runner it is nice to hear how you were concerned about your run. I feel the same way before runs, and the vibe you can get from pro's is that every race is easy and they never get nervous or apprehensive before runs. Thank you for the honesty.
I agree that the PB is much more impressive than coordinating an international podcast. I work in media, and I live in Singapore, working closely with colleagues in London, Barcelona and New York. While I deserve some pats on the back for staying up late to accommodate colleagues in those other regions, it ain't a feat. Congrats to Sarah on outrunning jetlag.
Listened to the podcast in the morning, then saw the video, had to watch it a second time! Great content, and Sarah is awesome! Keep up with the trc-entertainment! You people turned me on to the idea of joining a running club!
Well done 3:49 😂 Congratulations 👏🏽 🎉 on the PB JAPAN is so amazing 😻 This podcast is so soo brilliant….raw but honest - just perfect. Despite 3:49’s superhero performance…at the end of the day she is human…she 💨 😂😂😂 You looked so fresh like it was a walk in the park. Can’t wait for the full race review.
Took me a while to get to this podcast! But I'm amazed on how coherent Sarah is after her marathon! After my one last year I was just calling for food, foot massages, mother's hug, struggling to pull up a compression socks and sandals outside the Mall and hated the fact my medal is banging against my stomach which was ruined in the last 5K and for several hours after finish. Well done on your PB, savour it for as long as possible!
It's actually refreshing to hear Andy hasn't run a marathon. There can be a lot of pressure on runners to think you need to run a marathon but you don't... run to have fun, and if that involves a marathon go for it but don't worry if it doesn't.
Thanks so much running channel! This was a great idea. Really enjoyed Sarah’s real account of her race. Great energy guys, keep it coming. Well done Sarah! You’re an insp 💐💐💐 love from South Africa
Andy needs to run his first marathon!!! 😂 You guys should do a challenge and if Andy looses he has to run his first marathon before the end of the year. It’s march after all he still has time to train before the end of the year 😝
I just came back from a run -- during a savage hill I felt I will throw up. In the end I didn't and I even managed to go through with my run as planned! -- as a beginner runner it was really great to hear your honest recap about your experiences during osaka marathon. Rough stuff can happen during a run.
Runner's bane is not a hill or a cramp, it's an unexpected call of the wild and we've all experienced it at some point, all too uncomfortably. I'm glad Sarah didn't shy away from at least mentioning it. "It" happens. :)
Just started watching this vid ..TV is on in background glanced over and could have sworn i saw Ricks face frightening me😂...Well done Sarah on the marathon
Congrats to you Sharah!! Has any of you completed the Authentic marathon of Athens!! It's a great marathon but so difficult (so many hills!). I did it for the first time November 2022 following your program!! It was my first ever marathon!!
Using for example a garmin watch, and all the data from multiple runs, like cadence, vertical oscillation, stride length, time on ground etc.., could we predict what shoe fits best our individual running style? Or does the shoe in some way condition the running style in the first place?
Hey Sarah! Well done in Osaka and with the virtual podcast. Would you consider a trip down south in September this year? By south, I mean all the way to Australia. The Sydney Marathon is a Candidate Race as part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors. The race begins with a crossing of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and concludes at the Sydney Opera House. What a spectacular backdrop for your videography! Hope to see you in September. Love your work.
Congrats on the PB, Sarah. What watch are you using? (I am trying to figure out which Garmin to get after my Fenix 6s Pro as the screen is becoming a bit too small for my eyes) :)
Well done Sarah - amazing! I'm afraid the only way I can relate is when I had to abandon a sprint finish at a parkrun because the brown caterpillar decided to poke its head out 😂😅
Awesome Sarah! (Errr, I mean 349) ... I had to watch this as I'm running Manchester marathon next month and I'll be happy if I equal your previous marathon PB 😉😉😎😎
Well Sarah, much respect to you 🙌 I ran Manchester on Sunday and got 3:53 ... I tried to chunk it, but my running buddy wanted consistent splits (9min/miles) to get under 4 hours, but she dropped off the pace just after halfway so I was able to up my pace and achieved negative splits (1st/2nd half) (5:38/km @10k, 5:38/km @20k, 5:39/km @30k, 5:23/km @42k), and that was hard!
I’m running the Clarendon marathon on the first of October, is a trail marathon with ~690m of ascent. I’d love to know what time Sarah could do given how well she’s progressed over the last year.
Congrats Sara!! Question for your next podcast: I've run in Brooks for ages, and I have always found that I can comfortably get 500-600 miles out of their road shoes before they start to break down. But the last couple pairs I've had, I only get about 300 miles out of them before I start to feel them going (e.g., they feel looser, like the foam is squished; I get blisters; the insole starts to rub funny; the exterior breaks down). I'm wondering - they keep coming up with newer and better foams, materials, etc. to make shoes lighter and faster, but do those materials break down faster than the old materials used to? What about in super shoes? Thoughts?
Melatonin is great for jet lag. Take it half hour before going to bed, it helps reset your body clock. Does give you weird dreams though. It's supposed to be prescription only in the UK but you can buy it. Most other countries you can get it over the counter.
