It's so weird. Watching the current state of Roblox today, and how people who are teenagers (and kids by extension) think that what existed not too long ago was "great". I remember the summer of my 5th grade back in 2010 when I first started playing Roblox. How the idea of corporations making games and these overproduced thumbnails wasn't even a thought and that you could customize your character just by using Tix (which, I don't care what anyone says, was far better than Robux back then). The most you had in the form of monetization was creators adding a "VIP" section with special items and powers that you'd access by buying a VIP shirt with tix. Tix, mind you, that you'd get your own 10 Tix stipend of every so often. The forums. How games were made to be purely fun, because if they weren't, they wouldn't be on the front page. I'm sure the same will happen to you, and anyone playing Roblox. You'll either grow up and leave it behind for other games, find the "current" state of Roblox to be not worth your time (this happened for me back in 2014 or 2015 or so), or a mix of both. It's really interesting to see how Roblox, despite constantly seeming to get worse and worse in my eyes, still draws people who love it, and now feel nostalgic for a time that I would still consider to be really bad. No shame in that though. Standards evolve.
Really interesting to see a different perspective from someone who is an older roblox player. A lot of people will say that roblox is getting worse and that it has only ever made bad decisions and I wanted to show in this video that there were many updates in the past and present that have drawn more people to the game. I think a lot of people are looking at old roblox through rose tinted glasses though, because there were a lot of issues with the platform back then too. I've been playing for half of my life and I have a lot of friends who have also been playing for a long time - so I don't see myself leaving it behind any time soon lol. The bigger the roblox community gets, the more developers join the platform, the more variety of games we get. That's how I choose to see it! (also i didn't mention tix because that is also still a sore subject for me 😫)
How could you miss player costumization such as being able to color your ROBLOXian instead of just pressing a button to get some preset guys in 2007? I'd say that's even MOAR important than clothes! BTW, here's a bit of trivia if you've read all of that above: ROBLOXians were originally intended to be robots. In fact, the platform/game's name is a portmanteau of "robots" and a stylized spelling of "blocks". ROBLOX studio says our material is plastic, so we're all plastic robots! R6 probably looks the way it does because robots traditionally don't have a very wide range of motion. You really see the _robot_ in the previous animations from 2007-2014!
i think you missed one vital update in 2016, the tix removal if tix was still a thing the roblox economy would still be cooked, yes, it gave free robux but roblox still needs money too
i dont think devex really improved the player experience and limiteds mighhhhttt have come with a few negatives but hats is probably something I should have mentioned

Back then , roblox wasnt a barren wasteland
or some history-hating coporation...
Back then , roblox wasnt filled with toxic 200 pound weighing children who get mad at you for disagreeing with them when their ideas are stupid.
Now in our present day, it’s just Twitter
