Manga reader here. They literally take slice of life, fluffy, funny breaks inbetween some arcs… It’s almost as if they’re trying to give you a break. The last two arcs that got super serious were actually quite scary. And then we got a casual chapter with the villains… what is this anime/manga? XD
Honestly, I love this anime and how it really turns tropes on their heads. For example, there are a lot of protagonists in anime who are absolute gluttons, but the narrator in Welcome to Demon Iruma-kun was like, “Iruma-kun eats a lot because he was a neglected child and never knows when he’ll get his next meal, so eats whenever possible.” Which is both funny and depressingly dark.
His gluttony gave me shivers when it was said that a demons appetite ("desire") shows in his gluttony, and with Irumas damn near insatiable stomach, it's like saying he's ambitious enough to want the entire demon realm!
Just like my cat fr she was a stray cat and we adopted her, she was so skinny and dirty, now tho she's just(3.2 k.g) even if you give her a whole chicken breast when she's done she'll start looking for something to eat and she eats everything from rice to potatoes, so we can't leave anything edible near her
@@what1._.1I also have a cat that used to be a stray. I have to be very careful about his food, because if given free reign he will eat two or three times what he should. I have to feed him in a separate room from my other cats as well as never leave human food out, like yours. I managed to make him stay in a healthy weight, but only just. 😢
Because it actually strays or subeverts from the common tropes in isekai. Either you are: -transformed to a different gender/creature/age/etc -stuck in a piece of fiction/media -usual medieval fantasy settinf

This anime is my "it's trash, but my trash" moment. Well, it's not actually trash, but it has lots of tropes and a protagonist with good morals and a sort of "power" that allows him to stand over characters that should be stronger than him, bits of cute typical anime romance etc. In a way, it's just a very normal anime, and yet it's the only one that allows me to shut off my brain without negative elements that disrupt my enjoyment of it. It's not *special* but it's just good to me.
The special thing about iruma is that the simple stuff works because the author know how to actually *write* and not rely on trope usage, she managed to balance the focus on the character the story just enough that it don't end up overly complicated or much room for error so either side is left behind, the pacing is good and the character is fun and actually developed overtimes. I never expected to see one of my top 10 comfort animes show up on here but I’m welcoming this surprise with a smile
Fun fact: The magazine that publishes this manga (Weekly Shonen Champion) also publishes the Baki manga. The more you know.
i definitely watched iruma-kun randomly but then got hooked with the comedy and character building LOL
Doofenshmirtz's parents: look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power
Love this one all the characters get to shine and actually have personalities
Iruma's backstory reminded me of Hayate the first time I watched it.
I was not expecting you to cover Iruma-kun but you have no idea how excited I was the moment I saw his face!!
Genuinely such a good series, praying we get a season 4 announcement soon
So it's like Hayate from Hayate the combat butler in the world of Rosario + Vampire?
I was just thinking of Hayate. But unlike Iruma, Hayate had to earn his butlering position from a misunderstanding lol
Pretty much,Irima can be a little too innocent, a character for me sometimes, but it's good
Who are worse, Iruma's that sold him to the devil, or Hayate's who sold him to yakuza who were going to harvest his organs and send him to a forever fishing trip, and then were planning to sell him away when they got into debts again?
Both are awful but probably Hayate's parents are worse
Welcome to demon school iruma kun is underrated ngl. The plot is good, its a blend of sweet, cute, funny, serious and sad genre its my favorite
Ghetsis: *WHAT?! _I AM NOT THE WORST?!_ HOW COULD THIS BE?!!?!!
×Hits N in anger×
To be fair, he had that role quickly taken from him in 2011-2012
@@saphirestorm7952By who?
@dustindean4618 Karlheinz and Cordelia from Dialovers. The other parents in those games aren't the best either, but those 2 are especially terrible.
This is so good and practically every arc so far is so gooood
Someone mentioned Iruma??????
Good thing that Iruma's grandpa is actually Kiryu Kazuma! xD
I knew he was talking about iruma the moment I heard worst parents 😂
Makoto Misumi if he wasn't sociopathic:
i first started watching this anime when it was releasing and i didn't think much of it.... until a few years later i sat down and binged it all and fell in love with it. it's one of my favs now. i absolutely love it and i can't wait for whenever we'll get the next season.
Finally someone talks about Iruma kun 😭 (that's on UA-cam that isn't a "did you know 🤓☝" or some random person on tiktok)
Man I've following this manga since the start and so sad it doesn't get the recognitions enough.
Yoo, Iruma-kun mentioned let’s goooo, I swear it’s so underrated
Thank you so much for making this and making my day. This is one of my two favourite anime of all time and I need more people to know it. I hope this short can bring in more fans to Iruma kun so that Nishi's work can get the love it deserves. Go watch and read Iruma kun everyone
Demon lord: I want grandchildren
Underlings: but sir you don't even have kids
Demon lord: .... Bet.
They actually do have a moment like that in the story. The other two big demon lords start to gush about their own grandchildren and when he reveals his own grandchild, they straight up asking if he kidnapped him because he's not even married. To which he replied, no comment
I remember back in 2022(?) i watched this entire anime in one night and it was the second anime to ever get me to read the manga after one piece
Can you talk about initial d, because it is a really underrated anime with actual storyline and logic, not just about cars. Only car guy talk about this anime, like honestly, it actually good!
Sohma parents: hold our beer
ALL shonen dads are terrible. All of them are absent for some reason.
It's an isekai
ichigo had a good dad
Kuma has to be the best dad In anime
@@bhalchandradeshmukh6727it's also a shonen
As soon as I heard worst parentage I instantly thought "it's Iruma Suzuki's parents isn't it?" Lol!
The comedy is just something else
Not to mention the great writing the side characters get
I've always read the manga and didn't even know that the anime is already out😮 It's literally the only manga that I'm still reading up until now! Thanks for talking about this story!
I am happy the parents are always mentioned in the passing notes
We don’t need to know how are they and what they are doing
One of the best set ups across arcs happens in this manga and it might be the funniest thing of all time.
Same..when the first time reading the manga i had really low expectations but for some reason after reading few chapters it made me hooked up even more😂😅
The fact that i just started rewatching this today is crazy
THANK YOU FOR FINALLY MENTIONING IRUMAS PARENTS
HOLY SHIT, I HATE THEM WITH A BURNING PASSION
ALSO THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT WELCOME TO DEMON SCHOOL IRUMA KUN IT'S AMAZING
Please give this series a chance!! Read the manga its so good !!
110% highly recommend for anyone to watch it. Characters are very interesting and the lore is pretty good.
I also hadn’t expected much with this anime but it quickly became one of my favorites for some of the reasons listed
The fact that watching all of the episodes together are about 9 hours long and im already 7 hours in 😅
This is not a good anime, it is an anime which gives you peace which no other anime could ever hope to give you.
Real, man
I immediately realize it when he said the worst parents😅
Oh ya, I watched two multi hour long videos that talked about the story. If I remember correctly the demon bought Iruma as he was jealous about his friends having grandchildren and boosting about them
I’m so glad that this anime is even slightly being talked about
Finally my boy iruma getting some recognition
I've been waiting months for more of this anime to come out, and even though I have watched dozens of other anime since, this one still sticks in my mind.
Every time I see Shou Tucker I go into a blind rage 💀
its genuinely such a good story! it’s the only manga i’m keeping up with rn
this show is so cute . i still gotta finish it and read the manga , the dynamics among the main characters were always adorable to me . also KIRIWO I MISS YOUUU
The fact that iruma parents is even worse than hayate parents is one hell of achievement.
Been reading the manga for a while, and it honestly just keeps getting better. I really hope they continue to animate it till the end.
So glad that you watched this anime its one of my favourites!
A friend recommended this to saying “You remind me so much of the main character”
As soon as i heard worst parents i knew what was to come 😂
Me who has watched this on its relese date on indian Netflix
(Totally recommend this)
It's like the high school setting that jjk could never be
The romance aspect is good too, atleast its mentionable
Season two, evil Iruma goes hard af. I hope they have more scenes with him like that (I’m not finished with season two yet)
Why did they take Balam’s hair??? He does NOT look better with a buzz cut! Give him his hair back!!! 😭😭
I was gonna say that Hayate's parents were worse, but selling your kid to Satan is probably worse than selling him his organs to the yakuza.
Watching this during 2021-or so was crazy vibes honestly
“Combined worst parents” yep, that should have clued me in
Literally the demons were much more affectionate than their own parents
I'm SO HAPPY THAT THIS ANIME IS MENTIONED! I love this anime(and manga) so much, it's one of my favorites and is my comfort anime/manga
I would like to mention that the manga has very developed and likeable side characters. Gaap and Agares have my heart.
Relatable, I thought this anime was just some fast-food anime and decided to watch it to kill time and GOD, I DIDN'T EXPECT TO LITERARY CLEAR BOTH ALL THE EPISODES OF THE ANIME AND ALSO THE MANGA IN LIKE- A MONTH, BECAME A LOYAL FAN AND PATIENTLY WAITED FOR THE SEASON 2 TO COME OUT JUST TO COMPLETED WATCHING IT IN A FEW HOURS 💀
A demon that buys humans to spoil them is such a cute idea
“On a fishing boat in the middle of a storm” truly a brutal job.
Bro is 14 and is constantly referred as the Harem King...
Well he has the most popular girl in the school after him, and many of his classmates or at least thats what many people in the school says, and a well known demon and various other girls that like him, hes just nice and well girls like nice guys lol
@@dustindean4618 while being just a human among these demon
@@fujiwaranonekobiodrando1257 I will Riot if Iruma and Ameri don't become a thing by the end of this, like the author is clearly pushing them together lol
@@dustindean4618
I remember there's a few comments from other demons about how Iruma can eat a huge amount of food, they described it as greedier than any demons.
maybe that's foreshadowing he will be with every girl and also Alice can't forget him.
Thanks for putting me on!
The fact a dog says Oni-chan is proof that that was the worst dad ever
