The best memory of the movie is back in 1980 on NBC BTW I sent you the link to the commercials during the movie when it played on the aforementioned date on your email!
Yes, they really did blow up a lot of buildings making this movie! A lot of buildings were being cleared in the Czech town of Most so they had an ideal location and it makes it all the more realistic.
@@foreverblueclassicsI moved out of that neighborhood in the nick of time. Unfortunately, my buddy Nick decided to stay, and I haven't seen him since. I'm guessing he blew his chance when they blew his building.
They were probably too young to think about the possible consequences. This kid had no idea he was going to be killed by machine gun hits to his belly. I believe it was a 15 year old actor who played this part. But young soldiers were killed in the war.
@@foreverblueclassicsVi auguro un buon fine settimana con salute, felicità e tanti tanti sorrisi 🥰❤️🍹 Sto aspettanto il prossimo bel video per divertirmi 😎🍺
Nice upload 😀BTW I found the lost channel which shows the commercials aired on NBC in June 1980 when it aired onthe aformentioned channel however it showed only 2 very fast scenes from it!
Nice action. These city battles had to be the most nerve-wracking kind... so many dangers lurking mere feet away, yet unseen until it's to late to respond. You gotta feel bad for that boy at 7:48. So young to be expected to die like a man. But that he did. And his facial expression in death trveals he knew he had. And equally sorry (almost) for the soldier who gunned him down. The boy's struggle is over. His killer's has just begun.

The gun sounds, cannon sounds, and explosions are all the same as those on the 1960s American TV show "Combat."
You know l go get 😂😂😂
@@ヘンリー少尉 Yea , or like in the original Dirty Dozen
Very much so!
Yes, and so many other war movies. The machine-gun sounds are particularly similar in these scenes. If it ain't broke, don't fix it I guess. Lol.
@@thesixshooter6506 I agree!
One of my all-time favorite WW2 movies. I also encountered the bridge itself in the Call of Duty: WW2 campaign.
I had forgotten just good this movie is till I re-watched it. It's criminally underrated.

Love this movie , especially 4:39 because there is zero CGI unlike today

Sadly, it was an all too often sight towards the end of the conflict, sending youngsters into the final battles. Absolute madness.
Yes, and old men. The last throws of a dying regime.

Too right. Putting kids against professional soldiers was one of the worst of Hitler's many crimes.

0:53 German potato masher grenades? I just noticed it now! I'm surprised that the Germans never used them in the movie lol🤣
