- With the release of the new Bugaboo Butterfly, many parents are wondering how this newcomer compares to other compact travel strollers on the market. One of the most common comparisons is the Bugaboo Butterfly vs. the cult classic Babyzen Yoyo2. Eli is comparing the two today so you can find out which one might be best for your family!

So, I’m crazy and have both. Has anyone noticed that the yoyo is easier to maneuver than the butterfly? I think because its mass is lower to the ground so it feels more stable. The butterfly topples a bit when cornering. I’ve found steering the yoyo with one hand much more comfortable than the butterfly. However, the one handed open and close mechanism with the butterfly is SO nice and useful in a city where you use public transport.
Could you please compare the Joolz Aer and the Butterfly? I feel like these two are the most comparable right now! I can’t decide which one to buy.
Bugaboo seems very similar to the joolz aer. Is it smaller? I am comparing since i want to get one but dont want the yoyo.
Hi Tina! This comparison is definitely on our to-do list! In the meantime, you should book a consultation with one of our experts who can do a one-on-one comparison of the Aer and Butterfly with you! You can book your consultation here: www.mbeans.com/consultations/22218c
Thanks debating selling my yoyo2 for the butterfly simply just because I love my bugaboo fasteners and hate the fasteners on the yo-yo
Yoyo lost me when he said I need to buy the foot rest as an accessory
The butterfly looks great! But which seat is more upright (in the sitting position) and which one leans back further (in the sleeping position) ?
Yes I would like to know this too!
Hi Christine! The Butterfly both sits more upright and has a deeper recline than the Yoyo2.
Babyzen Yoyo 2 is King! But Bugaboo is coming in strong hot 🔥… Definitely a better compact competitor (when comparing size) than the Minu and TRVL.
Which would you recommend yoyo2, butterfly or joolz aer+?😊
There is no question but Bugaboo Butterfly is way better than babyzen yoyo!
@@rachelwagnerrosenzweig3587 i only had yoyo when I travelled alone but I didn't like it, i checked in two stores and tried the butterfly and I like it better. Easier to fold and unfold compared to yoyo. I have bugaboo fox and emmaljunga stroller,
Could you do a comparison with the Ergobaby Metro+? I'm wondering how they stack against each other and if the Butterfly is worth the money.
Unfortunately we don't carry Ergobaby strollers so we don't have one to review! Sorry about that!
Just bought a buttefly today after using Yoyo, its great. With butterfly it’s feels like it’s more stable and stronger. And the style is sleek and elegant. I’m loving it so far but can’t say more, I only used it one day😅.
Thanks for sharing! Glad to hear you have been loving it!
Where did you buy the butterfly? It seems out of stock everywhere
Which of both do you think has a more upright seat ?
Any updates? Had the yoyo for my first so wondering if it’s time for a switch to bugaboo
Eli is the best reviewer for baby stuffs!
Thank you so much!
Haven't used either but must say the the GB Pocket Plus All City is so damn impressive. Don't see a lot of love for this stroller for some reason. Im an industrial designer and work on very similar products and think they knocked that architecture out of the park. The Yoyo2 still looks like it was designed in the 90's IMO.
I am a mechanical engineer and I couldn’t agree more. I saw so many many reviews for the yoyo and I kept wondering the same thing
The GB Pockit + is a very innovative stroller!
As a Yoyo+ user for almost 3y, I believe design is a thing at some point, but the solid material on yoyo+ is amazing and durable, if you are consider fashionable, yoyo+ is not that bad tbh. Just annoying the new version getting very pricey. I have to say many designers forgot to honor the users actual feeling but pay too much attention on DESIGN.
you should check out The Stroller Workshop's review of the gb pockit and their other travel stroller reviews and comparisons. They don't sell strollers or do ads, they have a stroller repair workshop so they are impartial and review based on durability and real world use. only channel i've seen that actually gives negative reviews as well as positive.
I love the stroller workshop videos, and learn a lot from them. Because they don’t sell strollers, that also means the don’t talk to the hundreds of customers like we do. But their content is excellent. Eli
Can you compare the Babyzen Yoyo 2 vs Stokke Yoyo 3 stroller please
Video coming tomorrow!
Thank you so much for this just pre ordered the butterfly, love it 😍
You are so welcome! I'm sure you'll love it!
Im so curious how they say that this is overhead bin approved. Most domestic carrier airlines (Southwest, Alaska, United), the Butterfly is too big. Im sure you could probably get it past most of the FAs, but if you get a stickler, its bigger than the listed dimensions.
This meets the carry on luggage criteria, so if the overhead bin can take a roller bag then it can take thus type of stroller. Many airlines won’t even take a roller bag so check ahead.
@@MagicBeansVideos well Southwest is 24x16x10 so I'm still not seeing how this technically works. The bugaboo dimensions are 21x17x9. Although I for sure agree it would actually fit...I can just see a by the book FA making a big deal about it. International overheads are typically bigger so it wouldn't matter in that situation.
Ok
Does the Bugaboo Butterfly sit as upright as the Bugaboo Bee? Or more upright as the Yoyo? My 15 month old leans to the the side on the Yoyo and sits so much better in the Bee so just wondering.
Hi Trudy, the Butterfly sits slightly more upright than the Yoyo2 so it may be better for your little one. However, it isn't as structured as the Bee seat so it is possible that it won't be as supportive as the Bee.
the recline buterfly and baby zen yoyo is it same lower?
The Butterfly has a slightly lower recline.
Hi! I found the butterfly’s upper fastener cannot go over the shoulders of my 4 year old. Is this a design problem or we shouldn’t use in this way?
Thinking about getting the butterfly or yoyo for my almost 3yr old when baby #2 arrives. We are going to use her old bugaboo fox for the new baby, as it's still going strong! (thanks for your review 3 yrs ago on that too!).
Hi there! Both are great options! It just depends on which features you prefer.
I have the nuna pipa lite lx car seat & was curious to know which adapter is needed to fit either of these two strollers.
I’m planning on traveling with baby & DO NOT want to use my mockingbird stroller bc 1) i’m scared airport personnel will mishandle it and 2) may be too bulky for traveling through airport
The Yoyo2 or Butterfly is definitely better suited to airport travel than the Mockingbird! I'll link to the appropriate adapters for your Nuna Pipa Lite LX below:

@@MagicBeansVideos will the adapters work with the nuna pipa lite lx?
Which one has a bigger storage compartment? The butterfly or the yoyo?
The review we've all been waiting for!!! Thanks for this!
You're so welcome! Thank you for watching!
From someone who's bad bugaboos for years and decided to get a yo-yo 2 before butterfly came out. I can say I'd rather have the butterfly over the yoyo due to the straps being so much easier on a bugaboo , but yoyo has a wheel board bag for extra shopping I'm about 5ft 5 and I find myself walking at the side of the yoyo as the handle isn't high enough
Hey! I really can’t decide and i wanna purchase it from your site. My kids are 1.5 & 3.5 so I definitely need to buy the riding board. My question is if i have to push 2 kids which is sturdier better push pls? I know u haven’t tested out the butterfly riding board but id think u can guess it.. thank u!
Hi there! If the Butterfly board is like the other Bugaboo board it is very well made. Both offer a great push. It comes down to the features you prefer.
I have my second on the way and have a Doona already and the original Yoyo. I used to have the Uppa vista but never reached for it because I’m a sucker for compact and convenience. With that, I ended up using the yoyo as everyday and just got the butterfly. but wondering if I need to get the Bee as well or maybe should have gotten the Bee instead of the butterfly…. I just love how compact it gets.
We also love how small the Butterfly folds! Whether you should have gotten the Bee instead really depends on your lifestyle and where you will be using the stroller. If you are still mulling it over, feel free to get some guidance from a consultation with one of our experts! You can book a consultation here: www.mbeans.com/consultations/22218c
Do you feel the Butterfly is less stable than the Yoyo?
Please compare these two for newborns
I’m curious about this as well. It looks like Butterfly is only useable with an infant by attaching the Bugaboo car seat via adapters. The Yoyo seems more flexible for infants: via infant car seat attachment or the BabyZen bassinet or newborn attachment (which has the benefit of being collapsible while attached). I think the Butterfly looks great but I also need something usable with an infant so it looks like Yoyo still has the edge in that aspect.
Hi Amelia! Both strollers can be used with newborns, but the Babyzen Yoyo2 does offer more options than the Bugaboo Butterfly. The Butterfly requires car seat adapters to make it newborn friendly, but Babyzen makes a bassinet attachment that goes on instead of the seat to make a nice enclosed flat space for your newborn. You could also use car seat adapters with the Yoyo2 if you choose.
What is with the Cybex GB Qbit All City - Beezy. Yoyo2 or the Cybex beezy ? The Cybex beezy looks more resistant but is heavier. Which one can you recommend ?
Hi there! It all depends on which features are most important to you. The Yoyo2 is a tried and true family favorite 😍
@@MagicBeansVideos Thanks for your answer 🙏
If the board is attached can you fold the stroller both yoyo and butterfly? I have a 4 year okd who doesn’t want to sit in the stroller and have a 1.5 year old. So im wondering if i need to reattach every time i fold the strollers?
Hi there! The Yoyo board must be removed when folding. Bugaboo just released the board for the Butterfly. We have not received a floor model of Butterfly board to test it out.
I have always follow ur recommendations ans it has never disappointed me yet. I bought four strollers from ur videos already
Have been loving them
So happy you’ve been loving your strollers! 💚
After Bugaboo’s epic fail with the Bugaboo Ant, I’m glad they were able to redeem themselves and delivered with the Bugaboo Butterfly. 😊
The Butterfly is definitely a great comeback!
nothing beats for me the cybex beezy. Totally overlooked.
The Beezy is a nice little stroller too!
Hiii... please compare the bugaboo butterfly vs baby jogger city tour 2.... thanks before..
Hi Silviana! We no longer carry Baby Jogger unfortunately.
Is the seat retractable with a bar or string?
Both strollers feature a string-style recline.
This video is exactly what I was looking for!!!
Hooray! I’m so glad - let me know if you have questions - you can DM me on @mbeansdotcom on IG
Does the butterfly fit in the babyzen yoyo2 backpack?
We have not tried it so we are not able to confirm, sorry about that!
Can you fit a board on the back of the butterfly for a second child to stand/sit on?
Currently Bugaboo doesn't make a board for the Butterfly, but you can probably use a universal board like the Lascal Buggy Board with it.
@@MagicBeansVideos i called a local store and they said bugaboo is coming out with a wheel board specifically for butterfly in a couple of months. can you confirm that? They said only sellers are privy to this information
@@evamoon5801 We have not heard of Bugaboo coming out with board for the Butterfly. But we are hopeful that they might 🤞🤞
@@evamoon5801 did you get this info directly from bugaboo?
Pls.tell me where can I buy the Bugaboo butterfly in Mideast..
Unfortunately we can only ship within the Unites States so we aren't sure where you can find a Bugaboo retailer in the Middle East. You might be able to order directly from the Bugaboo website.
How can we use the butterfly for a newborn? Is there a newborn canopy that we can attach on the stroller?
Hi there! The Butterfly can be used for a newborn with a car seat. Have you checked out the Bugaboo Turtle Air? ua-cam.com/video/4L9psPVebBY/v-deo.html
Would you say the Butterfly has a smoother ride than the Bugaboo Bee5? We currently have the Bee 5 but I cannot handle how rough it rides. Thanks!
Hi Amanda! The Butterfly is smaller than the Bee. Something to keep in mind when shopping for a stroller is the larger the tires the smoother the ride 😊
i have the silver cross simplicity plus car seat and jet simplicity/dream adaptor . will it fit in bugaboo butterfly? if not than which adaptor will?
Hi Sadia! Unfortunately we can only speak about products available in the United States. The Simplicity is not available in the US so we don't know if they would be compatible. The Butterfly car seat adapters are for Nuna, Cybex, Maxi Cosi and Clek.
Have u heard about the Elodie mondo stroller? Its a swedish company. It should aswell fit in the overhead compartment. Would love a rewive on It.
Unfortunately Elodie strollers are not available in the United States so we can't review them.
I see there’s only preorder for a bumper bar for the bugaboo…are there any universal bumper bars that would fit? And can you fold the bugaboo with a bumper bar?
We don't know of any universal bumper bar that would fit the Butterfly, but the bumper bar can fold with the stroller!
Yoyo all the way forever my favorite stroller💓
Hello! I was interested in the yoyo because I can connect 2 side by side with a Leclerc adapter, would it be possible to do the same with the Bugaboo ?
Thank you!
Hi! We can't recommend using Leclerc adapters for the YOYO2 or the Butterfly because they are not intended for use with those strollers and have not been officially tested for safety. If you're looking for compact strollers that can connect side-by-side, you should check out the Bumprider Connect 3! You can connect them easily with no additional adapters required, plus it is safe and secure since it is designed to work as a double as well as a single. Check it out!: www.mbeans.com/bumprider-connect-3-stroller-2022/22218c
@@MagicBeansVideosThank you for your answer.
unfortunately I can't find the bumprider where I live (Kuwait) 😑 so Bugaboo and Yoyo are my only options.
The store we'd buy them from was the one that suggested using the Leclerc connectors on the yoyo, and we've seen people using it. But since the butterfly hasn't been released yet I'm not sure if they'd fit too 🤔
Is there a bag you’d recommend for the bugaboo butterfly ?
Bugaboo hasn't released a travel bag for the Bugaboo Butterfly yet, but you could use a universal option if you needed to check it instead of putting it in the overhead compartment.
I still love my TRVL!
Still Can’t decide on one of these , I owned the first version of the yoyo and was amazing but the butterfly is extremely tempting
It is amazing, isn't it?
Is the best travel pram video out yet?
Yes : ua-cam.com/video/UIGvP2lOfeA/v-deo.html
Can we add carricot to the bugaboo like the yoyo?
No, but you can attach an infant car seat for use with newborns.
Your videos are very helpful. Thank you. I was just curious to know about how comfortable the seats are for the child.
Thank you for watching! Both the seats are comfortable for your little one!
I have the yo-yo and don’t find the seat comfortable for little ones at all. The seat slopes down and the straps don’t tighten well so my 5-10 month old has had her lower back slide down the seat this whole time we have used it. It doesn’t hold her sit backward
Another disappointment from Bugaboo :/ . When will they finally make the pushchair that meets all the need a of parents : fully reclining seat , bumper bar , super lightweight (5kg) and reversible… so many features missing . Sadly , It’s a no from me again :( .
Is there a travel stroller that meets all that criteria? Thank you!
Best one for taller 3 year old?
Hi there! Butterfly has the tallest back 😊
How do these two compare to the colugo?
Hi Raquel, the Colugo is direct to consumer so we don't have one to review and compare. Sorry!
Which one has a higher backrest, pls? My 3yo is still occasionally napping in a stroller and needs the head support when asleep (he's only 30lb but very tall for his age).
Also, would the standard bugaboo footmuff fit the butterfly (when open)?
The Butterfly has a 22” seat height. And I imagine it would work Witt the footmuff
@@MagicBeansVideos thanks. I'll need to check the hight of my Cam3 and compare. You say "you guess" - does it mean that you haven't actually checked (fit it on)?
No I have not
Ben sizin videolarınızı defalarca kez izleyerek bir babyzen/yoyo satın aldım. 2 yıldır kullanıyorum ve çok memnunum. 1 ana gövde beraberinde, 0+, 6+ seti aldım. Güvenli, hafif ve bir fiat 500 için ideal ☺️
Ben okadar arastirdim bugaboo siparis ettim bakalim nasil olacak
Hala memnunmusunuz acaba.
Her ihtiyacımı karşılıyordu.
Can a wheel board fit on the butterfly?
Currently there is not a ride along board that is compatible with the Butterfly.
Can the Bugaboo Butterfly fit in a Yoyo stroller Backpack? My concern is that airport crew will still take the stroller if they see it no matter what the dimensions of a closed stroller are.
Hi Ritienne, the Butterfly won't fit inside the Yoyo2 backpack. You can always call ahead to your airline to double check their stroller policy.
Does the yoyo2 ride smoother because of the bigger wheels?
They ride similarly! The difference in wheel size isn't great enough to affect the ride very much.
You forgot to say the weight limit for Bogaboo
The Butterfly can hold up to 50 pounds!
