Gacharic Spin and BAND-MAID are two of my favorite bands. So much talent and a joy to watch live. I would pay big bucks to see them do a double header tour.
I like Gacharic, but I love Band-Maid... so being a little mean, I would like the maids could steal Oreo Reona from Gacharic, it would be nice that the maids have a talented keyboardist in their team.😉💜✌
@@COTTERO Band-Maid members are unchangeable if you add or remove only one member they would not be B-M no more. Oreo (who is up with Joe Zawinul and Jan Hammer for me) should do a collab with the Maids though :)
Musicianship in Band-maid and this band is both superb yet they sound soooo different. I prefer Band-maid sound better but I would definitely enjoy this band if two bands tour together. BTW are there any more instrumentals by them that are not this guitar centric? That's my only grudge, can't hear the details of whatever the other instruments are doing behind the guitar.
Tomo-zo and Joe Satriani are two of a kind in this respect - they both look like they're having way more fun than regular ordinary garden variety humans are even capable of having. 😀
Tomo-Zo is undeniably one of the best guitarists on the planet. She has all of the talent, skill, chops, etc., etc.... without any of the overly dramatic bs that some players feel they need to throw out there, She reminds me of how Mick Mars used to play, not a note was missed nor was a note added that did not need be there, It is that level of playing that sets her so much apart from her peers. And let us not forget the rest of this talented band. All of whom are amazing.
Another example that Japan is the undisputed #1 when it comes to rock and metal. And she was Sexy. Apparently, her lyrics were pretty sexy, too. Sadly, she died in October 2015, at age 31. Check out GS from around 2010-2013 or 2014. Songs like “Broken Lover” or “Lock On!!” show them at their best. There’s a live DVD, “1st Anniversary”, that’s 2 nights in a small music hall, and it’s really worth having. I play it sometimes, and show it to friends, and even if they’ve never seen J-rock, they’re impressed. That was Gacharic Spin for me.

Well i love Aldious, Lovebites, Band Maid, Mary's Blood as well but in the end they are a specialist in just one or two style of music,... Gacharic Spin / Doll$$box have a Toto-like versatility but in conjunction with uniqueness and freedom of Japanese contemporary music,...
I wish I could "thumbs up" this more - Koga's great outfit and Oreo is full burger! And Tomozo's GREAT solos and excited squeal at the end just kills me. Great music, I hope I can see them live when this covid stuff is (hopefully) over
It has a great classic AND progressive vibe (sounds like Lita Ford, Guns N' Roses, Kiss, Rush and Dream Theater jamming together), with technical excellence, and definitely fun visuals! You sure never get to see a hamburger on stage at a Dream Theater concert!
This song is basically four minutes of Tomo-zo just jamming out just like she can. She is so underrated at a guitarist. She's up there with Kanami from Band-Maid.
As a guitarist, I have a feeling TomoZo can cover more of Kanami’s work than vice versa. But she values variety. Mincho has honed her riff writing and playing style to a serious high point and fans love it. They’re good enough, you can compare, but it’s pointless to “rank” them
@@timgove5337 Tomo-zo is great. I believe she can play any style of guitar she put her hand to. She's good at funk, jazz, rock. Heck she can probably shred like Saki form Mary's Blood if a GS song needed it. Tomo-zo is probably one of the more underrated female guitarists in Japan.

You need to look up a UA-cam video for Tomo Zo where they review her custom, I believe it's an Addictone, Ice Cream cone guitar. The most intricate and unique custom guitar I have ever seen.

I believe she does though it does not come out as much anymore. There is a video out there of her explaining all its parts close up. It is even way more detailed than you can tell when she plays. It's got more moving parts and lights than I have seen.

How the hell do you characterise their style? I think of it as a fusion of punk rock (Hana!), funk (Koga!), heavy metal (Tomozo!) and electro (Oreo!). Metal funk?
Definitely hybrid or fusion something-or-other. I tend to think of them as punk metal, but that doesn't apply to all their songs. They certainly cover the gamut.

この日は2部制で、Doll$BoxxとGacharic Spinのダブルライブだったんだよね。だからこの4人は40曲近く演奏した日。ドラムのはなは翌年からギターvoにコンバートし、現在はツインリードの体制に変更となって、音も厚くなってます。
他にもテクニカル系ギタリストっていっぱいいるけど、何やろ、この人の弾くフレーズや音が好き。
ともぞーは萌もえキュン！とか言いそうな見た目なのに音は骨太で安定したフィンガリングとピッキングっていうガチガチの本格派

I've been to 15 DT shows... So far, no burger. Not sure Jordan could pull it off as good as Oreo does anyways.
