- In this video I answer a question that I have heard for years, do apple seeds have cyanide in them? If so, how much? I bought a cyanide test kit in order to determine how much cyanide is really in apple seeds. You will be surprised!

There is also a small amount of cyanide in almonds but you'd have to eat over 6lbs for it to be lethal. (The amount of pounds might be wrong)

My kidneys started to hurt pretty bad when I got high and ate half of a three-pound back of almonds in one sitting... I don't trust almonds anymore... didn't have the same problem when I repeated the experiment with walnuts a couple months later... but tried again with almonds and kidney pain again... I'm not a doctor, I just play one on TV...

I cut three of them with a knife. I smelt it and it smelt like bitter almonds... I think i had a nice bit of it..

@@AgentRene703 the reason why eating too many almonds will kill you though is because of the fact that it turns into cyanide when digested. I believe it is around like 6 pounds. However I’m not sure how much that is since I’m not American
You need to eat ~15 apples worth of seeds before you start to feel sick, and if your eating them with the apples you might have a hard time stomaching them all before your body filters it out

@@seandoyle8892 depends, if you just swallow them whole they might pass through you no problem.
But if you were to grind them up before eating them you would feel stomach aches, head aches and nausea. If you kept eating them you would have cardiac arrest or respiratory failure, leading to a coma or death

Ig it's because it goes into some sorta reaction, and so the molecular bond becomes weaker, resulting in paper being easy to rip and all wavy

Ppm is not a measurement that should be used in regards to lethal dose due to the massive disparity between for example a liter and a drop both with the same ppm measurement the liter may be lethal while the drop could be harmless ppm requires an accompanying volume

thats kind of an odd way to estimate lethal dose.. considering that the stomach has a larger volume so the ppm of cyanide will be lower there. why didnt you look up the lethal dose in milligrams and use a test strip that gives you the result in milligrams?

I eat apple seeds and core. Never been sick from it. I can eat raw hamburger no problem. I drink milk? Oh the pain! After one apple I'm full. I have a whole bag of them and only ate two so far but not at the same time. Yes core seeds and all. I rarely eat apples anyway.
@Floofy Chicken ever hear of steak tar tar?(pardon the spelling) raw hamburger, mixed with a raw egg, capers, salt and pepper and it would be spread on crackers. It was never given to anyone outside the family as a cracker spread. No one ever got sick. My paternal grandfather's ingredients. Mom would put in chopped red or green bell peppers or chopped onions for her special touches. It was only made for Sunday brunch or when my uncle would come over or when we'd visit my father's parents. I don't know if mom grew up on it so maybe dad's dad taught her how to make it. We never got sick. I was raised on it! So it doesn't affect me. I wouldn't recommend it for others. I was raised where we'd have mounds of chopped liver from the deli for Sunday brunch. Is chopped liver raw or cooked. I don't know. I grew up on it, it was always served cold never got sick on it so I'm able to eat raw chicken livers(haven't seen one for years) no problem. Would not recommend it for anyone else. I was raised on Lox from the deli. Raw salmon. I can't eat it cooked. Skin off of course. Never got sick. To me it's no different than sardines and they're raw.
Point is, the fact that I'm able to eat some things raw including hamburger that doesn't hurt me at all but could get others near death sick, the notion that apple seeds have cyanide in them doesn't bother me. Whole apples are filling. I can't get beyond two, cores seeds and all.
@Floofy Chicken LOL! Nope! Only hamburger meat not fresh off the hoof. Just a chunk of raw hamburger. The rest I cook. Steaks, beef liver, bacon, lamb and pork chops, always cooked. A small chunk or two of raw chicken but the rest always cooked.

Kwchooky 101 cherry seeds, apricot, peach, plum and nectarines seed contain enough cyanide to nearly kill you. This means that if you swallow two of any of those fruits' seeds, you would still be ok. But if you BITE into 2 of those seeds, you die. sorry for my bad english
10 years ago I ate Vegan and are whole Apples with the seeds. Why not? I got light headed. I would eat 2-3 apples each evening for 3-5 months. Someone said something about that so I stopped eating and I stopped giving me light headed ness.
