In stock firmware sounds quite soft and fatty bass without kind of puch to it, with firmware 6.9.0 you've literally make it sounds Alot balance, the harshness is gone now, the bass was quite powerful now there a increase upper bass area which give whole pack of punch. But they just leave the 700hz push either.
@@timlevolveracoustics1877 listening through your video, sounds like you're Boombox was a brand new out of box, also i also tested Boombox 3 in real life, but i think yhe Boombox I've tested was in latest update, not harsh at all.
JBL Boombox 3 has better low frequency extension and balance. The tribit sounds stronger in bass primarily because it's tuned deeper than the boombox 3. Ive modified mine to play lower notes a bit easier, and holy heck did it make a massive difference
