Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos and for being part of my life! Never thought in a million years that I would be a UA-camr doing what I love! "They treat you like shit but in a very sophisticated way" - I DIED LOL
😂😂😂
hahahah, so funny :)
Oh so like my ex-boyfriend.
Thank You Erica for what should be Hermès new slogan ! 🤩
“They treat you like shit but in a sophisticated way” quote of the year
😂😂😂 I thought the same thing lol
Soooooo good!
Quote of the week for me!
Ha ha ha you know it's true! LOLOLOL
The prices for these bags is ridiculous. They are treating customers as fools and the sad part is that people still want them.
People love rejection. People love being treated miserably. Makes them feel better when they “earn” it.
There is a Brazilian upper class jourlalist/writer named Danuza Leão, who said she loves when you can't tell the difference between a fake and an original handbag. Because she thinks it's ridiculous a bag cost over US$10,000.
It’s psychological
@@camilagohayata yeah but the fakes that look identical cost the quarter of price, 2500$ is still not cheap
Exactly
This is why the re sell market is booming for people who want the luxury good but don’t want to play the luxury games
Exactly! I'd rather buy from the trusted reseller!
The resale market for Birkins are crazzzyy. Literally like 25,000 for a birkin😔
That is true but if you have to buy the whole store just to be offered to buy a birkin how much money are you saving to buy it directly from Hermès
@@mondaehenderson7757 exactly
Yes! I found a reseller in Singapur it’s a bag a couple year old, but they spa for you, so it does look bran new. I pay a little over 10k including taxes. No all resellers charges over 20k.
So they’re blackmailing people into buying the products that seemingly don’t sale, to be eligible for a Birkin ? How unclassy …
coercion too
Hahaha! In order to look classy, you’ve got to first lose all dignity and be treated like a dog in an in an unclassy way.
@@seabreeze4559 I've said the exact same thing. They bribe you with the honor of spending tons on a Birkin or Kelly to get you to buy their other crap that I guess nobody wants!
They are treating those bags as if they were a “free with purchase gift” 😂🤣🤣 but you still have to pay a hefty price for them.
Show me you want a Birkin without telling me you want a Birkin:
*Shows a living room full of Hermes homeware* 😂😂😂😂
my future hahaha I only have a tea set so far, very pretty. Lots of orange boxes though 🙃
@@ErikaBardere I do legit want a tea set but the game makes me think nah.
I refuse to play the Hermes game, and no, it's not a "journey"; it's extortion.
Unfortunately people like to feel like they are above others and will not miss an opportunity to show it. This is the culture of luxurious brand.
@@millanapoleon2041 true they would humiliate themselfs to those sales assistants just to show they made it in life in front of their friends.
It's not extortion: no one is forcing you to buy any Hermès bag or item. You don't * have * to play the game.
I view this as a journey and adventure: like trying to find and photograph a rare, endangered animal.
One of the most effective ways to “protest” a brand is to stop buying from them. If you don’t like the sales tactics, show them by hitting them wear it hurts. Buy elsewhere.
The Hermes brand act almost like MLM with the suggestions about buying things you did not intended to buy or budget for.
You really got balls!! This is a well known thing inside the lux fam but coming here and exposing your opinion so bluntly on a platform... not many, that's why i like you.
I feel bored whenever i see an Hermes piece so... not dealing with that bullshit.
I will never have an abusive relationship with a fashion house. Nope.
honestly think there’s a price bubble. hermes creates this manufactured scarcity yet you see so many pre-loved shops that has shelves upon shelves of birkins and kellys, with no one buying. it’s scary.
That’s exactly the problem. That people think that having a Hermès is the “ultimate dream” . If your greatest, ultimate, most exciting dream is to have a bag. Then ... your dreams are pretty shallow. People fall for this crap, that some rich narcissist came up with. Someone created this game and everyone is falling for it. I could care less for this bag or their accessories. But then again, a bag has never defined me. That’s just me. I rather have real estate.
Smart woman
I've never liked their bags. I find them unpractical and extremely expensive.
Gold bars are better than a birkin
There's nothing shallow about wanting a bag that appreciates faster than the S&P500 and GOLD itself.
Hermès Birkins & Kellys are the ultimate Veblen good: they're enjoyable investments.
When most of Chinese customers start boycotting this brand, then we will changes for better until then - don’t think so
You are so o o correct ... the Chinese customers will teach them good lessons !!
Chinese people will never boycotting this logo, only something like racism can stop made them buy like dolce Gabbana
I live in China and i can say that Chinese consumer is not a pushover. The minute the reputation of this heritage brand becomes stained in social media they will fear to lose face by carrying anything H.
I have a Birkin. The SA said it would take 6 months. It took exactly that. No crazy spend history or begging. Not all boutiques are bad.
The first one might be easy. The second one might be easy too. The third one however....
@@sandraressork860 lucky for me, I’m not interested in a second or third.
@@annaharrell8856 That's good. I can see them trying to "spread the love" to many potential clients as much as they can. It's just one of their marketing strategy. Particularly this past year in London store with their new system.
Sandra Ressork Hey, what’s the new system in the London store?
Can you say which boutique or give contact info for your SA?
I am the customer and I am in charge of what I buy or don’t buy. if they don’t offer me a bag, then I will buy a different bag with a different brand and feel pretty damn awesome about it. I refuse to jump through hoops for Hermes or any of the other luxury brands.
I was also told that not only do you have to buy jewelry but the silver jewelry doesn’t count towards your quota, only white, yellow or pink gold.
That is mental.
I wouldn’t buy from them to begin with . No piece of leather is worth that much ! Their sales strategies are ridiculous!!
Amen to that tbh it's not even good looking bags
And now Chanel is jumping on that bandwagon.
@@crabcakes4194 well if people would quit glorifying these companies on UA-cam then maybe the companies wouldn’t do that.
I agree!! My last bag offer was in 2019. And although I've bought a few pieces of RTW, home goods and shoes , I have yet to receive another bag offer. And keep in mind my SA told me I needed to purchase more RTW in order to meet the Quota offer. BS!! I'm annoyed. I am a loyal customer but like you, I don't feel I should buy stuff just for the sake of buying stuff. It's just not right. However, we are all at fault because we continue to play their game. If we all stopped purchasing anything from them, they's be forced to change their ways.
here's what worse: i bought what they want us to buy (watch/ fine jewelry), and they wouldn't give me birkin 25, they only offered me birkin 30.....but i'm short (158 cm) and I reli reli reli dont want a birkin 30.......They said it'll be easier to get birkin 25 only AFTER you get a birkin 30. Which is ridiculous. They are forcing customers to buy unsuitable size bags.
I do believe the home good , watches or jewelry part, when I walked into the Houston boutique the sales associate told me they don’t have a birkin in trench but she did say “would you like to come to the watch show maybe we can get you a watch and then something can come up for you” I DIED! Because I’m a upfront person I told her myself “girl keep it real what I gotta do to get the bag” cut the nice act let’s keep it g. And honestly I think she respected me that I told her to cut the act and she was like BUY A WATCH. I declined . The watches are not cute. I rather get a Rolex. Hermes only make cute shoes, scarfs and leather bags and accessories other than that, I’m good on y’all
I'm so happy with the treatment at London stores. I have got my two quota bags without spending half that amount. The same happened in Paris at FSH in which they offered me a B30 with barely any purchases history...Thankfully that policy you just described doesn't take place everywhere .
Ditto!! ☺️
Hi Kate, which London stores in particular? And did you put your item on a wish list and keep in touch with an SA? Thanks so much in advance!
@@srajani11 Bond St, Royal Exchange...however I know this is common practice in every store in London. and yes, you have to keep in touch with the SA. you can't expect to make a wishlist, vanish and be offered something.it doesn't work that way. it is also important to be knowledgeable about the brand.
"Ur journey isn't their journey...don't compare yourself" is what I've been told and as for the compared" journey " I was comparing myself to my mother whom I was with ..the angle I knew before so, knew what I was getting into however, the approach in front of my mother not ..which really turned me off .... It really was very tasteless ....and honestly I feel so different now about the brand and the SAs but even the quality of the bag can't even excite me anymore..yeah ...I do vintage here lately....love finding rare peices ...💯💓💯
My Hermes SA quit his job because he couldn't stand the lies he had to tell his customers. You're spot on, Erica! Love your videos.
What kind of lies did he have to tell?
I’d rather have Hermès tell me straight up what they require from you rather than denying it even though you know it’s true. That way I can make the informed decision not to give them my money
I love your last sentence😂
For me this is not a sign of arrogance or marketing but one of desperation. I believe that they want to utilize the demand for the "two" special bags to sell the stuff that no one wants. When they list you the categories, that are considered revenue towards a bag, they basically tell you, what their underperforming categories are. The fact, that they have to tell their customers that they can get a bag after they spend a certain amount of money is pure desperation and embarrassing. The revenue requested for the special bags is very little. If you look at the anual spending on fashion from the average potential Birkin owner, I am sure that they spend way more than what Hermes ask for. That means that a lot of money is spend elsewhere on other brands and that other products, apart from the bags are not that appealing to the luxury consumers. I suggest that Hermes improves the appeal of the other product categories and stops begging for revenue.
Am quite sure it breaks EU laws. Just waiting for a lawyer to take up this case...
Maybe that’s why they are only doing this outside the western world
The upside to this is if you are looking for a watch or Hermes jewelry "preloved" you can usually pick them up at a significant discount.
Hermes as a brand is a flop and the birkin and Kelly are the only things from the brand they keep them relevant and afloat, Hermes wont be around for long because the games they play and customer service. All of that definitely isn’t going to work with the the younger generation who are impatient and demanding
the problem is their items look masculine, when the majority of customers are female. Even the tea sets have war horses and random crap like that instead of flowers and pretty colours
This is why I love shopping with other ultra luxury leather brands like delvaux, laurus, moynat instead. They know what real customer service is.
Exactly! I don't understand how people don't know about the SUPERIOR CRAFTSMANSHIP of Delvaux!
Totally agree. Moynat is top luxury in their products and in their customer service ☺️
Hear, hear!
Serious question: is Delvaux also double hand-stitched like Hermès?
so glad u did this video, Hermes have literally been taking the piss out of customers for years!! It’s inhumain the way they treat the animals they farm for bags, it’s shocking! No wonder PETA investigated them !!! 200 crocodiles in 1 tank, really hermes??!!! And their sales associates are pushy and rude to customers, that’s why this is the only luxury brand i refuse to buy! Their customer service is terrible, and they need to review their sales processes asap !!! The fact customers literally need to beg for bags and are spoken to like crap is shocking! You don’t see customers going to chanel or dior and having to beg for bags!!! The hermes game is Up!!!! 🎮🎮🎮🎮🎮🎮
I bought a new Kelly 25 from a reseller for $24,000. If you need to spend $15,000 plus at least $10,000 for the B/K, then I spent just about the same money and got the exact bag I wanted.
@Beige&Bougie Wow that's a comment I left a year ago lol. 😊 Anyway, yes I could have done it the way you wrote, but there's no guarantee that I would've been offered the exact item I wanted. I would be very interested for you to go to Hermes and do what you said you would do and see if they offer you the exact bag you'd like. Let me know how that goes. and if you end up with the bag you wanted. Have a good weekend!
You said it well! I feel the same way. This is like psychologically bullying your customers and mind games. I think when people have too much money where they don't have to worry about food and housing, they seek problems such as worrying about getting the Birkin bag. Hermes won't be able to fool people if they people refuse to play the game where the house wins.
I agree that customers that truly love the brand but might not be "Paris Hilton" should still be appreciated
Hi Erica, this is not only true for Hermes. I was in Paris two weeks ago and the exact same thing happened to me with Louis Vuitton. The SA refused to sell me the multi-pochette, which is 1600euros, unless I specifically bought gold jewelry or clothing. She flat out told me she had the bag in stock but would not sell it to me. I was buying 2 additional bags and a scarf, but that was not enough. I specifically had to buy a piece of clothing or fine jewelry. 🤢
These brands serve the poor and middle-class that want to look rich...the real rich people wear other things we don't even know about. They invest in yachts, cars, mansions.
They are taking advantage of shallow people who can’t live without flashing around with they birkin/Kelly bag 😂 Next time when I see someone with one of them in London will think how desperate they were and what they did to get one 🤣
from my personal experience this doesn't happen in London, neither Paris

In real estate that’s called, “steering” and it’s illegal!! I have no interest in begging to buy a Hermès bag. Love the brand and I am good enough to own it but, they are not rubbing me the right way. They want you to buy the items that are not selling.
I just went to hermes in paris on faubourg saint honore and I thought it was weird because I went for a belt and sandals... at first my SA said she didnt have my size in a couple of choices then once my husband was like talking to her and they got along then she said "let me go check again" and she gave me my sandals in my size .... kinda rubbed me the wrong way to the point where I am a bit upset with myself for proceeding with my purchases. BUT I was swept away with just being in paris and my husband kept convincing me. OOOH also, in the beginning of our visit I did mention I did want a birkin and she said they don't have in that store... then after my selecting my sandal and belt she whispered to my husband 'so did she really want to get a birkin I can show you a couple" thats when I was like ok girl you whispering in my man ear now lol lets go before I catch a case in paris....
I was never a Birkin fan to begin with, but this is such BS! I have no desire to play the Hermès game. They can keep their old lady bags.
This!!! 🤣
Yea I've always thought the Birkin looks like a grandma bag. The smallest sized Kelly is cute. The Evelyn bag is so hideous imo. If it wasn't Hermes I doubt anyone would like it.
@@em84c yes, the mini Kelly is cute, but the Evelyn and the other bags are so ugly. I believe it is more of a status symbol than true fashion. People want what they can’t get.
The Evelyn (and the Herbag for that matter) is indeed hideous and people would admit if they were honest with me themselves
@@dinacharlayne1912 I’m an old lady and I still don’t care for them. If you want one, more power to you. You can have mine.
Just don’t buy one - plenty of other bags in the world
this sales tactics are also employed by other brands like Chanel, Dior , they reserve the popular bags for the clients who regularly buy items from them especially those that buy their jewellery and ready to wear as these are harder to move.
Hermes clothes are boring, their other bags are just different colours and leathers, designs all the same. their bags other than BKC and lindy and roulis are pretty boring. Hermes watch design of the H watch always gets caught when I wear a knitted cardigan, the oran sandals are so overpriced for such an uncomfortable slippers. their jewellery is so simple and for the price I think bvlgari offers more diamonds and more gold with more intricate designs.
Even though they cost more on the Grey market, it’s cheaper in the long run to just buy from a reseller.
True.
Exactly. No games. Unless Hermès is in kahoots with the reseller too and gets a cut
Agree! I just bought one because of that same reason.
They want you to buy the crap that no one wants. They should just design better items that people want to buy.
I 100% agree with you. It's absolutely disgusting. Just bc someone is a baller doesn't mean they appreciate the brand. Honestly, the ppl who save and save would appreciate that bag MUCH more than a filthy rich person would.
In Brazil that’s actually illegal to do. They call it “venda casada”. But of course Hermès wouldn’t ever get caught by this.
It’s good to be upfront and transparent. I am fine that the BS is over. It’s frustrating for people to keep playing the ‘game’ without winning. They have given the rules, so you can win every time, if you chose to play. Good on them!
Hermes is luring you in with the “promise” that you might be able to purchase an Hermes Birkin or Kelly if you purchase the items they are trying to get rid of (ie. Home goods, jewelry, and ready to wear). No one goes to Hermes exclusively for those things. That’s where the company is losing money. How do they remedy that? Lure you in by promising you access to purchase the things you actually want. It’s sad. Buy the things you like/love.
Hermes is elitist. Period. Thank you for calling them out.
I just went into Hermes Madrid Spain and the sales guy was super shady he said there was a wish list that is currently taking a year to fulfill but that they don’t have any bags!!! However I was able to see a birken that hey had on display. He said if we got on the wish list it would void out once we left Spain. I told him listen I know your lying 🤥 and you do have a bag but you don’t want to offer it: he kept laughing and saying he Has not seen a bag in a year. I am extremely turned off by Hermes and I don’t want to keep trying to buy a shady fashion house.
Anyone know what the return policy at Hermès is?
This happened to me in Hawaii 2017. Actually no lies. The SA said no leather will count towards my ratio 1:1 for birkin. I had to buy silk, metal or porcelain.
The moment one gets so far into the Hermes game without realizing the manipulation, it is like selling your soul to the devil.
It seems like it’s driven by the SAs and the categories of items that they get the most commission on. If they get more commission on homewares and jewelry, then they are using the desire for B/K/C as leverage to drive their commissions. It’s gross.
I think this is why it’s happening too, but it’s still corporate HQ (allegedly) structuring commission pay this way, so it’s still (likely) being driven from the top down.
I doubt it the SA’s have no power. It’s coming from the top down
I agree that’s exactly what I wrote on my comment. 💯 SAs new game!
Bingo!
They push jewelery to get a bigger commission!
I think it’s the beginning of the end for Hermès. They’ve become super popular so fast, you can see people in Zara wearing their bags. It’s easy for a middle class woman to save up and afford the bag so they try to price us out with their games. Their original customer base (old money) is practically nonexistent. Their bags are worn by escorts and some of them are good fakes which adds to the embarrassment. In a few years Hermès will be associated with bad taste, and Chinese millionaires,
unfortunately.
YaninaD you are so so so correct ! Perfect comment !!
Luxury bag in general gives escort/ prostitute/ sex worker/ sugar babe vibe. I think this adds to the allure of wanting it since it is a representation of power trough sex.
Im not judging anyone. Have fun with the bags.
This comment didn’t age well lol. Hermès at +15% Y/Y revenue growth for H124 compared to LVMH at +2% Y/Y. People are still buying H.
Gosh this is so shocking Hermes trying to influence purchasing in such a brazen manner! Thanks for sharing Erica!
Thanks so much for sharing. I had hoped what I was already hearing elsewhere wasn't this bad. Just sad really.
Chanel and dior look a million times better then hermes
AGREE 100%!
I have a better opinion of louis and gucci than Hermès or chanel just for the way their employees treat people:p
I think it’s insane people are willing to pay that much for a handbag! Mind blowing 🤯
I think people pay for what it signifies not the bag itself
One million percent
Same
People are going crazy nowadays, unbelievable!
RIch people are not paying to own a bag only. H bags are status simbol for the high society.
Unfortunately, I feel like some rap culture has kind of tarnished the brand a bit. It's always he needs to buy you a birkin, birkin bag this, birkin bag that...and it's crazy how they have so many bags when there is supposedly a quota.
"I don't like Oran sandals. I don't want a collection of Oran sandals."
🤣 😂 idk why, but that was funny as hell to me! Subcribed!
Imagine, you bought their stuff for severel month or years to get the chance to buy a handbag, and when they finally offer you a bag, it's a bright pink birkin bag!?
I have nothing against bright pink in generell, but I wouldn't want a pink handbag.
I really like all colours, blues, greens, black, brown, but a bright hot pink bag? no!
Or even worse- I saw a birkin bag online with that Monopoly guy on it, I don't know if it's fake or real, but the price was 25 k (I believe).
Wao! Thanks so much it was good information ℹ️ And you are so right about everything you said.
I know I will have my detractors regarding this comment, but I have to say that after seeing so many influencers , entertainers and celebrities stuffing their overblown closets with 50 million Birkins on countless "reality" shows and UA-cam channels, I am actually over the allure of Hermes. Sure there are a couple Kellys that I find beautiful and I don't think they get enough credit for their scarves and fragrance, but Hermes is just turning into another "showy" luxury brand that is beginning to seem "basic" and ego-driven. I prefer much more subtlety and understatement when it comes to luxury.
Can you return the other stuff after getting the bag? Once you’ve purchased the bag they can’t force you to give it back. Be shady back.
On the one hand this quid pro quo “link buying” system is abhorrent, anti-consumer, and not luxurious at all. On the other hand, it’s refreshing that people are being told the quiet part out loud instead of being subjected to this game without being told the rules. At least people can opt in or out with full disclosure.
I only make a handful of H purchases a year and love what I own, but I don’t give a fig about their bags, so this doesn’t effect me. Still, I shop in the categories they _do_ want to sell, and I might halt purchasing more until I hear they’re treating bag-seeking customers better.
well coercion is illegal so
@@seabreeze4559 As much I find current practices distasteful, Hermès is not using force or threats to make anyone buy their wares, therefore it’s not coercion. It is possible that whatever they’re doing (could be link selling, unofficial bundling, discriminatory selling, idk) could be breaking laws in some markets though.
To me this entire Hermès situation on social medias is telling us what real priorities should be right now. , The world is going through something way much important than handbags' dramas. We all work hard to treat ourselves, if anyone thinks that I should walk away because I don't spend enough, or I'm not cool enough, then I just break up with the brand and that's it. There is a bunch of real handmade bags that are available for cheaper prices, even from unknown creators that worth supporting !
Yes.
I will NEVER buy anything Hermès. Why would I subject myself to loser sales associates and a company that sets that tone in their stores?
Their products are not worth it. NOTHING is worth selling your self-respect.
Exactly
Erica, I enjoy you so much. 🤗
I need to write, H isn’t forcing anyone to buy anything. My insider says the professional resellers have blown up the whole system. H is sick of them.
One way to look at this whole thing- everyone is on an even playing field. To get a quota bag, clients don’t have to rely on the ability of their SA to snag one, rely on the popularity of their store w/ the company to get quota bags in and clients don’t have to worry whether or not they are one of their SA’s favorite clients. It’s all about spending, not schmoozing.
I refuse to play their game, I shop at other luxury brands!
Yes in Thailand is just like that( I am a Thai fashion youtuber), I have heard a lot from my subscribers I never ever going to buy anything there!
This video is totally on point! Honestly this technique that you have explained in the video is portraying Hermes, to me right now like a stand on a flea market, a luxury one. "Buy one bag of the apples in the front, that people don't want and I will will sell you super hard to find pinapple from the back of the stand, which everybody is looking for right now." :D
This shows how easily manipulative people are. Sell something for a high price and make it difficult for everbody to get and everybody wants it and acts like sheeps. This is what is wrong with the world.
The law and culture of enjoyable shopping vary around the world. I hate bargaining but in some places it’s a necessity or shopkeepers are insulted. To say that to put it out on the table sounds dirty, might be your take on the Dubai experience, but might go over differently for people from the the region. I hope your IG friend left without buying the Her bag lol. Hermes biggest problem is they act like they’re giving the handbags away free. If they need fewer ordinary people to buy them, they should just raise the prices another 10,000 dollars or something.
I am so turned off by Hermès. I have purchased a few items the past few years, such as silver jewelry, a belt, etc. but not with the hope or expectation of getting a quota bag, My First Love is Chanel, so I am always getting texts from my Chanel SA showing me fabulous items, so I usually blow most of my “fun” budget each season at Coco’s House 😆.
I really admire the quality and tradition of Hermès bags, and would like to have a Kelly one day, but it is not something that would upset me one way or the other if it never happened. But the more I hear about the bizarre treatment of customers, I am less inclined to even attempt trying for one at the boutique. I shop luxury for the fun of it all… stress about being “worthy” to purchase a quota bag from Hermès is not what I call fun.
And one more thing; my BFF and I were at Cartier today, and I saw a woman in a Hermès dress. And it reminded me of what you just said about the style; it did nothing for her figure. It was a boxy cut sheath type dress with no waist definition. I am sure the material was wonderful, and the stitching perfect, but if a dress doesn’t flatter, what is the point?
Yeah this turned me off and I have been budgeting for a Birkin 🙄 Smfh
yups. i heard about this on lailli mirza's channel. apparently, the jewelry they want to steer customers towards is not even regular clic clacs or collier de chiens, but fine jewelry. ridiculously expensive (above $50K for diamond bracelets), and really not that great looking.
These greedy SAs want a commission and don't understand building a proper relationship. Ugh.
Stop buying that granma bags and stop making that brand huge, people it's your choice if you stop buying those bags Hermes can't treat people like that, I'm french and I love fashion but clothes and bags should't become the top priority of life
Gosh, I wouldn’t give Hermès a dime! I wouldn’t support a business that treats people like shit😩
My advice, as a person with some experience (20 years of buying from this fashion house). You don't need to pay 20.000 or 40.000 (in some Asian countries).
You just book a ticket to a big city like Tokyo, and buy whatever bag you want from a reputable reseller. I had 2 Bs from Lecrin.
Still less than 20.000 in things you don't need. no need to destroy yourselves financially.
The bags are not as rare as they make it to be. We see the wardrobes of celebs and influencers lined with tens of Bs and Ks.
It's a stupid game, and there is always a good stock of bags.
Only thing that is really hard to get is a special order bag with unusual colour combinations and exotic leather. And it just takes time, because they move like snails.
I liked this video so much and your honesty. The Hermes game is insane, I’d rather spend my hard earned money on another designer.
Buy their cheap over priced items so their profit margins are vast 🤔 it is insanely brilliant and terribly weird to get people to desperately want to be invited to spend money. Still can’t get out of my mind my impression of this as a granny brand. Not like most people even know what brand it is so does it really carry stuff differently or is it strictly a status symbol secret kids club?
Mhm he is right.. I heard many stories like this in Melbourne store, at least 5 ppl I know told me to get a k25 u need to spend 35k aud on fine jewellery , RTW, homeware. Since it’s the most requested size but they were directly told what to spend 😂
Sydney on the other hand are not told so upfront but we all know the normal is also 30k + for anything b25/25. And in Australia never ever does bags count towards spend it’s primarily only those categories he mentioned …
What if I just buy an Evelyn Pm…. Will they tell me to buy a pen first before purchasing the bag?I was planning to buy one and I’ve never been inside an Hermès store….too intimidating 🥺
I might be the only one - but I appreciate the quid pro quo way more than the „journey“. I find the “I don’t know how much I will blow to get a bag or not” way shadier and less of a customer experience.. also it makes the calculation to go for Secondary market way easier
I’m from Singapore and what we have here is far worse. If you’re new to Hermes, you have to spend >1.5x the cost of a B/K in non-bag items before your SA will consider presenting your profile to the Store Director for a B/K. After that, you continue waiting for a couple more months before you finally get offered. Anything you spend on bags don’t add towards the tally. I may get a Lindy, Picotin, Evelyne, Herbag, Roulis, 24/24 amounting to 20-40K in between and nine of that adds to me tally because they are bags.
all the stores do that. high pressure sales tactics. the bags bring in customers maybe like a sale.
Yes it is the same policy used in the Kuwait boutique 🤨
The whole Hermes thing blows my mind...I can't wrap my head around people dealing with this level of BS for a handbag...It's insane.
China has always been like this too. The guy who protested was only asking for a picotin, not even a bkc. 😢 Some popular jewellery don’t even count as pre spend. Constance necklace, Finesse series, etc. The spend ratio for bkc in China now is about 1:2 -1:3. Picotin is about 1:1. Crazy
At that point it is probably better to just buy an almost new preowned Hermes bag because you won’t have to buy a bunch of stuff that you don’t want/need first
I don’t remember who, but another UA-camr tell a similar story. They asked her to spend 30k that day and then they will offer a bag.
About being legal or no, I think is not ilegal. They don’t have to sell anything if they don’t want to 🤷🏻♂️ Maybe if people stop playing that ridiculous game, they will change. Maybe.
"ragamuffin rude" 😂😂 love it
Love this video and completely agree. Quota makes sense but the directions on what to buy is just so mafia tacky.
I hate Hermes like for real. I don't like anything from them in general, but I also know that their customer service is pure trash. It's disgusting. It's not a 'luxurious experience' anymore. This is exactly what manipulation is.
Thanks for sharing Erica. I agreed to play the game at NYC Madison store and spent $17k on stuff they wanted me to buy with no birkin to be found. My SA was pushing to sell a watch and I stopped going to the boutique. Never again.
Imagine if the Better Business Bureau came after them!!! Ahahhaha
