This documentary reminded me the best quote from my father, taken from Ancient Greek History. In life you have to be a Hector, meaning calculated, calm, rational and not taken over by emotion. If you choose to be an Achilles, meaning controlled by your emotions, overly ambitious and eager to do anything to live the "good" life... you will be met by an unfortunate end... that could be death or suffering for the rest of your life. You can't just hurt all these people and get away with it... life will come back at you, one way or another...
Yes but there is Stalin, there is Fidel Castro, there is Mao. From history. Right now, there is Maduro, there is Putin. And there is still a dictator in Cuba, and in China. The 'religious' dictatorship in Iran doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Same with Syria. You'd like to think that the score gets evened out in that person's lifetime but it doesn't always work out that way. Then again, maybe they had private, immense suffering that they could barely manage, for a very long time. Like hell on earth. Most of the time, you're right, the score gets evened out in the perp's lifetime. Sometimes slowly. Sometimes quickly.
You ever notice in these mafia docs there is always that investigator who pronounces their names wrong? You investigated these guys for years and you cant get the underboss name right? No They do this intentionally as a personal dig.
@vbdrinker5671 I'm glad I wasn't the only one to catch that. The way he said it was weird in that he said it hesitantly like he had never heard that name before.
lol what the fuck makes you think YOURE pronouncing the name right? you've only heard it from third and fourth hand sources. the people who had direct contact with gaspipe pronounce his name "case-o"
Casso had completely manipulated Amuso. Amuso wasn't interested in the intricacies of the mob and Casso was a master of it and constantly active. Gaspipe was absolutely a ruthless psychopath but had incredible street smarts.
I remember watching a doc on PBS some years ago about the mob and the mafia commission trials and how all of its leadership was now getting jailed. At one part they were talking about Tony "Ducks" Corallo. They showed how the car at 2:21 got bugged. After parking the car TD got out and left to do dome business. There were two men he left behind whose sole purpose was to make sure NO ONE could get to the car; to steal it, or to bug it. Apparently bored, these two guard/protectors left the car unattended. WE can't hear them, but they probably said something like "fuck it, let's go, we'll be back in a few and nobody's gonna fuck with the car while were gone." The tapes show them walking away, and here come the the FBI agents springing into action; they had been tailing TD for some time just for this opportunity. TD always feared saying anything on tape at home, or at the businesses he frequented. He discussed business only in his car, it was safe. He thought. After all, he had his own car under surveillance FULL TIME by his OWN MEN. The FBI was of course quick, and the plant was made. TD got nailed. I often wonder what ever happened to those would be "made men." After the tapes had been public released these guys either became informants, or fled. Surely the FBI told them after arresting TD that they'd better run or else. Letting your boss getting nailed like this would have been an automatic clip on these guys. They are either dead men, rats, or living in Arizona under aliases.
I actually knew him and Danny. Not name dropping, I worked with them after they dropped out of witness protection. They both had it, but Tommy especially.
Amuso and Casso are by far the worst mob bosses ever. Violence is something that should be avoided at all costs. Those two used Violence without restraint. Eventually your own people will start to fear for their own lives and betray such people to save themselves
Gaspipe was by far one of the shittiest mobsters of all time. Just goes to show no one had the balls to step up and do something. Dude should've been dealt with long before.

That life has been on the decline because they started to recruit college educated members who had a better way of thinking and didn't look bad. That was the beginning of the fall of them.
@@jaywinn1198 : No, he wanted Luongo as boss, but Buddy got killed by Casso & Amuso. Tony Ducks was already in prison by then , to avoid further internal conflicts he made Amuso the boss ( because Casso didn´t want the top position , just like they said in the Vvdeo ). Bad mistake.
Well there's a rumor that Gas pipe did coke now being the era where Gas pipe was on the street it's not too Far Fetched to believe could have been Possible 💯🤷♂️.
they didn't get their asses kicked they used illegal ways to crush the mob. It's the only organized crime syndicate where the government has to catch them before the actual act on a crime through wiretaps. Unlike other crime groups where they easily get them after the crime is commited like the bloods or crips.
Cosa Nostra would of been so much different if Buddy Luongo became boss (which he rightfully should have). Amuso and Gaspipe should have been clipped for the unsanctioned hit on him, but they couldn't b/c there was no body, so no murder.
@@AndrewBradshaw3 the section in the “Five Families” book on Vic and Gas is amazing. They killed like 45 ppl during their rise to power. Following his arrest in 1993, Casso became one of the highest-ranking members of the Mafia to turn informant. After taking a plea agreement, he was placed in the witness protection program, however, in 1998, it was rescinded and Casso was dropped from the program after several infractions. Later that year, a federal judge sentenced him to 455 years in prison for racketeering, extortion, and murder. Casso died in prison custody from complications related to COVID-19 on December 15, 2020.
Yep. Bullets couldn't kill him but covid 19 could. I've heard a little conspiracy type talk that part of the reason that the feds dropped Casso from the program was his 302's directly contracted Sammy Gravano's 302's and the feds couldn't have the statements of their star witness against Gotti jeopardized, it would mean that Sammys testimony would have to be thrown out and Gotti would walk. I don't know. There might be something to that. I've wondered about it. Tommy Dades and his team was albe to corroborate some of what Casso said when he flipped, at least with concern to the mafia cops they did.
Paul Castellano was going to testify (rat). As he was being ratted on by Gotti the rat. But Gotti heard Castellano was going to rat because Gotti was ratting on Castellano and so Mad Chainsaw Gotti whacked Castellano before Castellano ratted. You could call it power. But breaking the MAFIA family was less power as then every one knew it was Gotti who was the rat.
@BJ 76 The felon Mr. John Gotti was a homicidal psychopath. Mostly a cockroach killer but he was in the cockroach business. So even a traitor to his pwn kind of cockroaches. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with out the possibility of parole so he was clearly also a convicted felon. He was a disgrace to the family he left behind who have to live or die as relatives of.

Didnt Achilles kill Hector??? LOL
Hector died against achillis

Like George HW Bush purposefully mispronounced 'Saddam' Hussein
@vbdrinker5671 I'm glad I wasn't the only one to catch that. The way he said it was weird in that he said it hesitantly like he had never heard that name before.
lol what the fuck makes you think YOURE pronouncing the name right? you've only heard it from third and fourth hand sources. the people who had direct contact with gaspipe pronounce his name "case-o"
It's a politician thing too

Gaspipe and Amuso were the 2 worst bosses in mafia history. Somebody should have clipped them both before they went on the run
Cosa Nostra would of been so much different if Buddy Luongo became boss (which he rightfully should have). Amuso and Gaspipe should have been clipped for the unsanctioned hit on him, but they couldn't b/c there was no body, so no murder.

He probably just died of old age and other diseases. They just liked saying that all deaths were from Covid.
