I’m currently learning Chopin’s berceuse op.57 and I feel like partial pedaling can have a lot of uses in this piece. Thanks for the introduction to this concept!

The title of this video should be : how to pedal like a robot
Pedalling is extremely personal and varies on the acoustics of each room/concert halls , and on the different pianos we pianists usually play on.
The best advice is, open your ears! There are things one only learns with experience!
I guess 21st Century looks like the triumph of logic against intuition

I don't agree with your point of view because there are technical aspects that must be learned with clarity considering the features of the piano and also the history of piano that then permits us to express in a free and transparent way. By understanding the mechanism we can then safely rely on our ears. Also the features of the piano at the time in which the piece was created can help us better understand how to create and step into the world of the composer. Thank you to the pianist because the way Mrs Roskell explains is clear and informative.

I dont think I’m learned enough to understand her subtleties. I just play what feels right. Music vs logic. Her points may be appreciated by a professional. A casual person might miss those nuances. I’ll have to listen to this again and maybe appreciate later.
