Is your hair a weave? No, my hair is 100% grown from my own head. I have never worn a weave, wig or extensions. If I ever do, I will inform you at the start of the video.
What race/ethnicity are you? I am biracial, my mum is white and my dad is Nigerian.

I'm white and my soon to be daughter will be mixed race and i am assuming she will have curly hair, I am well aware she may not, and i've been non stop watching videos on how to look after and deal with curly hair, it seems like a lot of work considering I don't even have to brush my hair in the morning but I will try my best.
Don’t worry just make sure you brush it wet as there will be tantrums and meltdowns x

@@smook4312 As a girl who is mixed here’s some tips:
-Never brush when the hair is dry! When it’s dry and you brush it causes more breakage which leads to your hair not growing
-Brush from the bottom to top, it sounds odd but this also to stop breakage from happening. Start at the ends and work your way up to the top. Every time you reach a not, only brush that area until the not is out. Then keep on going. To make sure it’s fully brushed run your finger through the hair!
-Wash with cold water! This is for straight hair too of course and it has a lot of benefits like more moisture stays in the hair and it promotes hair growth.
-Try not to leave her hair down and out a lot. I honestly made this mistake from when I was 8-10 years old and only realized it when I was 11. I wanted my hair out but my hair was become dry, it got tangled so I had to brush it more and that means more breakage and my hair wasn’t growing. Also it’s probably a good option to braid her hair and there’s many videos on how to do like cornrows etc. It’ll keep her hair moisturized and it can stay in for a little but it depends on how itchy her hair gets until you wash it. Keeping her hair in braids will also help you so you don’t have to constantly keep doing her hair often.
Brands I used as a kid and now:
As a kid: Dream Kids Leave in and Dream kids Shampoo it worked well and it was keeping my hair nice soft and moisturized 👍
Now: Shea Moisture, it’s very moisturizing for my hair (it’s pretty expensive though 😅)
I have a Jamaican father and a Ecuadorian mother so my hair is curly and I have not thick hair but not thin and straight hair! Just never apply gel or styling products to her roots because she will get more build up. Anyways, I hope this helped :) luckily my mom got a lot of help from family on how to keep my hair moisturized and healthy so now my hair is growing and I’m keeping it moisturized and healthy. I think you will do great with her hair! Good luck 🤞

I love all of these!! Btw #2 is an AWESOME protective style on a day that’s not super windy. And it helps a little if you add leave in or a bit of conditioner to the ends before going outside.

I'm transitioning and I'm trying to learn how to braid. But do you have tips for dry scalp? Like I have dry skin and it's often itching ;-;
Try tea tree oil. My daughter had the same problem.

Otaku multifandom when your hair itches make sure you don't use your nails to scratch your scalp use your finger tips
I can't give you any specific products to use, but I had very dry scalp and once I started cowashing, my scalp got better. However I do understand that cowashing is not everyone's cup of tea. I like cowashing because it's moisturizing my scalp, and I do use a paddle brush/tangle teaser to massage. The key I think to dandruff free scalp is to moisturize it. You can wet your scalp with water and seal the water in with an oil and do a scalp massage (definitely try peppermint oil or tea tree) sorry if this was so long but I wanted to help😁

Hey Lana (or anyone else that want to help), I wanted to ask you. I've been doing flat-twist out's for years (my siblings call me snoop dogg) because I find them the best way to maintain my style. The thing is my hair is used to it so whenever I do a wash and go with my denman brush, if I part my hair to one side, it forms one big clump that doesn't curl nicely, it's just a heavy wave. If I don't part it, it constantly falls on my face and my glasses and I disrupt the curls..... do you have any suggestions? what's the secret to defined non-awkward curls at the front?

I’m trying to help my hair, my mom has straight hair so she has no idea what she is doing with my hair and damaged my hair when I was younger. Can you please explain what these hair styles do. Do you wear them throughout the day or at night to protect your hair? Someone please explain.
You wear them throughout the day and they help protect you hair from getting damaged. By making sure the ends are tucked, it protects them from the sun and elements such as hail, rain, snow, wind etc. Your ends are the weakest part because they are the oldest, that's why you need to protect them. lana i am mixed and for some reson my hair is always super dry and i need to moisturize every day is that normal?
and i have been natural curly hair and rare use of heat so i dont think that there is much damage
sugarplum dragon do you deep condition my used to be dry all the time but now that i deep condition once a week it helps and refresh hair every couple of days with a moisturizer

As a black girl I love having my hair in twin buns sometimes i do it like the first one (edit: I mean the first hairstyle lana shows) and sometimes on top of my head- my only complaint about it is ive never had and experience where my hair was in twin buns without at least 2 people coming up to me and telling me I look like princess leia- which I guess could be a compliment but it stops being a compliment after a while and just becomes a nuisance

Do protective hairstyles mess up the pattern of your curls
Sorry for the late reply, but some do. If you were to do a tight twist or something especially if you have looser curls, that will mess up your natural curl pattern. But if you did something like a loose pineapple, your hair will need a little bit of product depending on how dry and frizzy your hair is, and that's it! :)
