Isn't it just the best way to up-date and up-cycle a garment. You can create your own images for fixing too. Hunt down 'PAPERCRAFT' IRON-ON T 👕 transfer paper. As long as you have access to a printer you are set to go. Plus from Simplicity they have doubled sided 'fusing'. With that method you can use the fabric 'applique' technique. However, there is a tiny wee - if the crochet threads are too heavy in texture & if that being appliquéd isn't thick enough, the appliqué might not be flat and smooth. You know what? I'm not sure where you reside in the 🌎, but retailers who sell fabric/material etc usually carry 'applique' imagery or I'm sure help track some down. Alternatively, a 'Google' search might help.
