I always get teary eyed at the end of this type of story. Another family story dies with the passing of time. What I'd give to be a part of a family group. It's no fun being old and alone. Thank you Leslie and Danny for bringing these families back to life one last time ❤️❤️❤️
Barbara, I understand how you feel. All of my family has passed. I have no family to spend holidays with or even a chat on the phone. I miss them terribly. My fiance has a big family and they all have welcomed me, however, it just isn't the same as my own blood. Sometimes it really is depressing to me. At least I know I am not alone with my feelings. 😥💔
@@Lily-has-wings All those commercials around holiday time of large families celebrating together are depressing. All of my family has not passed but everyone is in too much pain from our youth to reconnect. I've tried. I don't even fully understand it, but it's so. I've been waiting to be adopted for 50 years. Logically, I know it won't happen, but psychologically, it's on my mind every day and I'm still waiting. The social service system is what screwed up our family.
Thanks guys! This was fun. The house is a little quirky but someone should buy it and save it. It appears to have good bones and doesn’t seem to have sustainable any water damage like so many other abandoned homes. The furniture should be saved too. I wonder why the children didn’t do something with it or at least come back for the pictures and personal belongings.
@@MAINEIAC Another reason no one wants these abandoned properties. The taxes on them alone would bankrupt families who already have their own houses to worry about let alone, another property in such disrepair. I'm sure taxes in NJ are stupid high to begin with

Definitely a beating moment in a time capsule where everything was placed before the end...everything about this channel just gives me the good vibes I've been seeking out...I'm so glad to have stumbled upon your videos...most epic
Welcome. I’ve been watching Bros for about six years. I was watching an early video just yesterday and came across two comments I’d made on it. (Lesley’s brother Jordie was involved in the channel until life intervened and he went on to other things. But that is why the channel is called Bros Of Decay.) The video I watched was about 15 minutes long. I’m really glad the videos are now near an hour long, sometimes longer. You have many, many videos to see on here. It’s been interesting to watch Lesley grow and change from the teenager into the handsome young man he is. Danny I have been watching for about two years. He is a charming young man who is very knowledgeable about many different things. Lesley and Danny are a great team.
It just breaks my heart to see these houses. I cannot imagine not taking any of my parents belongings. I am quite positive that my sons would try to sell some of my furniture and things I have collected over my lifetime. Old family furniture is a treasure to me as well as my husbands while he was still alive.
When dad and mom died my sibling fought over Christmas decorations and golf balls ….abandoned isn’t a word we know. My daughter has a chair from her great great grandfather. Selling stuff to get money is better….Let someone else enjoy. We agree! Totally. Having a will is a must at any age.
This generation of children isn't interested very much in old stuff or their parents belongings, my sister was in another state with my mom when she passed away in a nursing home there but my sister was there every day with her and mom had all kinds of personal belongs at my sisters and nursing home ,she had a private room so my sister kept what she wanted and gave all the rest away ,I didn't get much ,the one thing I have of my dad's is his first tackle box with his fishing plugs in it that is older then me ,I had alot of family photos but unfortunately they were take stolen and lost 💔
The furniture all looked like well made antiques. It looked like they made a wonderful home for their family. Enjoyed seeing Williams luxurious hat sitting on the dresser, Hildegard must have kept it for memories of him. The pictures of William and his tractor looked like it made a big impact on their lives there, a great tool. Thank you for sharing once again.
Thank you Leslie & Danny this house is definately a time capsule. So interesting, yet sad story of a beautiful lifetime together. They seemed to miss their homeland very much. Thank you for being so respectful of everything left behind; I wish others would do the same. God Bless!
Thanks Danny for showing us the pinhole camera. Wow it was in great shape. As the daughter of a German immigrant many things remind me of her parents home. After WWII to be a German immigrant in the United States was very hard. The Germans were ashamed of the things that Hitler did. They tried to hang on to their positive German heritage with books and correspondences in German. The German cursive writing has many nuances that other languages do not use. It is hard to read German. Congrats on trying. The letter with the red white and blue around the edge was to identify it as an airmail letter. Back then you could send a letter that may end up on a boat. The item with the alligator which was used to put on shoes is called a "shoehorn." The potty chair is called a "bedside commode." The chair on the boards with wheels was a homemade wheelchair. When I was young my neighbors built me a similar mobility device which had wood with wheels. Yes, the Lincoln would definitely get stuck in Europe.
The home I grew up in, in Iowa, USA, had stones to make the basement walls, which were double thick. So I would agree that the much older homes were built that way with what they found on the property. The floor was dirt, no cement. Sadly the home suffered a terrible fire that took it completely, along with my father, who I miss terribly even if I am in my sixties.
My name is Bobbie Schubert.. I just started watching. It is amazing to see this house. I love all old house. But see this one really hits home in my heart. Thank you so mich. ❤ I also showed this to my family.

So beautiful I wonder what happened to their children are they still living why did they let this lovely place go like this? One thing I noticed is there is no wedding photo are photos of the left behind and you missed the one room you was looking at from the bedroom
Thank you Lesley and Danny. This was a beautifully done video. The house was lovely. It was easy to picture how nice it was back in the day. Ohhh Leslie & Danny… thank you sooo very much for sharing this wonderful adventure with us!!! This was so very interesting to me, as it was my era… I graduated from high school in 1973! All of those items looked so familiar to me, as that’s the kind of furniture & way that our house was set up!!! They were wealthy farmers, as most farmers didn’t have as nice of furnishings as this family did! It is sad that the antique furniture, items & even family memorabilia like pictures, weren’t saved restored & either treasured by the family or put in museums or resold, to be reused once again 😞😢😰 Not everyone could afford a Lincoln like that, so yes, they had money!!! What a lovely find!!! As I stated, it makes me sad that the children wouldn’t have auctioned this priceless home furnishings off, as we did my folks👍😞♥️ Thanks once again for another epic property ❤️💕♥️

Lovely home , lovely story of the owner, they get to live in their home till the end of their life, love all of those antique car they left behind and sad to see everything got abandoned, thank you for sharing.
Amazing tour. It's truly a trip back to a different time. Back to a time when people could immigrate here, buy a few John Deere tractors they could maintain themselves, and have a small family farm.
It is with deep sadness each time I watched your episode. Couldn't imagine how hard it must have been in those days to built ancestral house for their own family. And, to see as to how it became now makes me to reflect on life. All our efforts no matter how noble for our family, even the material blessings will be remembered no more just as we cannot bring anything with us in our death. All will become meaningless. Only what's done for God and for our fellowmen will be significant. 😢

Beautiful story telling along with the house! The Barbasol picture in the built on room is actually a disinfectant for hair and barber shops. I bet one of the children did hair probably a barber?

Car is Lincoln Continental. About 75-79 model. About same time as the Arab Oil Embargo during President Carter's Administration. Large cars like that became known as "gasoline hogs" and then smaller cars with smaller engines became more the norm.
I had a car just like the Lincoln. Yes, it was like driving a ship, but I loved it! Luxury. The ride was so smooth. I am an old lady now, that was a long time ago. 😊
What a beautiful story you've captured here, so touching to see things left behind. I wonder why the children didn't want the family photos or other items?
Growing up in the 80's I spent a lot of time in houses just like this one in New England. The cabinets filled with 'boring" books, the record player cabinet, pink old lady bathroom, small kitchen, hidden tiny staircases.
I may of found them on find a grave. Born in Germany, moved to New Jersey. Hildegard died in 1995 at the age of 89. Her husband in 1993. I can't guarantee it's the same people but the details match.
I had the same exact stuffed animal raccoon that's sitting on the old chair next to the portable commode in the downstairs bedroom, wow. I got it for Christmas in 1981.
You Are The Perfect Example Of A UA-camr Should Be, You Describe What Everything Is, And I Love You’re Accent! I Am Hooked On You’re UA-cam Channel. Much Love To You, Please Keep Up The Great Work That You Do ❤
I am from NJ and know where this town Oxford is. Three towns over from where I lived. The pink receipt from the mans Tractor repair shop was from Doncheski's a Tractor showroom where you can buy new tractors and have them repaired as well as purchasing parts etc. What a small world !!
Schuberts, dairy farmers, lost one son at age 18. Another son, died in 2009, was married, was a farmer as well, and liked his John Deer tractors, had stepchildren...so stepchildren probably not interested in the farm, stuff left behind. A third son lives?
IT IS A shame that places like this are falling down from disrepair, nobody to fix them. Beautiful furnitue, wonderful lives lived here, a beautiful historic tale.
The toilet seat in the bedroom is called a "commode" and the shoe spoon you had is called a "shoehorn" in English. You are really very good at English, I struggle at any other languages.
Lovely old home, looked ransacked with some of the rooms "tidied up" a bit. Lightly vandalised BMW and still intact Lincoln tucked away. Must be stuck in some legal probate war between the kids in order for it all to go to ruin like that. Great video!
Très belle vidéo 👍👍👍, vous avez trouvé une une petite pépite, entre les objets ancien tel que l'appareil photo, les meubles et surtout la Lincoln. Vraiment bravo 💕💕💕💕👍👍👍👍
I love your videos. You take so much time and really look at things. For the car door, you have to push the button and pull the door open at the same time. I loved seeing the old camera. I imagine they took tin type photos with it. Thanks again for your videos.
I don't want to embarrass you, but, that "chair" in English is called a commode. It's what they use to go to the bathroom. That chair on wheels, is probably what they used to push Hildagarde through the house or just around the bedroom. I didn't see any comments that told you what that chair was. I love the stories you tell about the people. And you are so caring about it, tool. That makes it even more worthwhile. Thanks for sharing. Keep going!!!!
Another beautiful video, much closer to home for me. FYI that first record you pulled out of the record cabinet wasn't a "vinyl" but rather a shellac 78, as were many of the records near it. That particular label (the one in the "Here They Come" sleeve") was in the Victor "scroll" label, introduced by Victor in 1925, and used for about 10 years.
What a cute little house. The sewing machine was nice find. Like always, I really enjoyed this video. There were a lot of nice antiques and the china in the cabinets It was nice to see that these things were not ruined.

@@nicolad8822 Yes Kurt is the name of the man I found on find a grave.
I was going to say that William is not a German name, more of England descent. But Kurt is definitely German. I still adore Lesley and Danny (sp?).
Lesley, I know how careful you are and always have been,
I wouldn't show any license plates.
Much love ❤️🙏🤗🕊
Amazing 👏
I had the same exact stuffed animal raccoon that's sitting on the old chair next to the portable commode in the downstairs bedroom, wow. I got it for Christmas in 1981.
Ciao.Mi piacciono tanto questi filmati.Ho quasi 67 anni.Fra poco pensione.Anche voi siete piacevoli.Complimenti.

I am from NJ and know where this town Oxford is. Three towns over from where I lived.
The pink receipt from the mans Tractor repair shop was from Doncheski's a Tractor showroom where you can buy new tractors and have them repaired as well as purchasing parts etc. What a small world !!
That house is in great condition! Beautiful furniture too
Schuberts, dairy farmers, lost one son at age 18.
They didn't buy the calendar on-line as there was no line in 1995. They either bought it in Germany or a source here in the United States.
Good morning. Good to see you guys again.😊👍
Suas viagens e experiências são incríveis é como se estivesse viajando no tempo com vcs! Obgdo!
Good to watch you guys exploring the abandon house
That was a beautiful home!
I love the way you narrate the story, I love your Channel,
What a cute little house. The sewing machine was nice find. Like always, I really enjoyed this video. There were a lot of nice antiques and the china in the cabinets It was nice to see that these things were not ruined.
