Man this is great, I thought I busted a seal, I’ve been running it like that for the last 3 months, just changing the oil every couple weeks, and was planning on pulling the pump apart this off season. Thanks for the video guys
Thanks for this video. I actually called the distributor about this & they told me I had a bad pump. Yet I did not lose pressure or flow. I changed the oil. I believe I had been rinsing the pump after use and also, I live in a very humid environment.
so i a power horse 3100psi 2.5gpm and my water pump started to leak oil when i drained the pump redish orange oil water came out i wasn't able to take pump off so took the cover assembly crankcase off an good oil came out. how would you diagnose this so far
Left a unit outside unused for a couple of years. Just sprayed with lanolin every so often . Discovered reduction box and pump were milky. Flushed and now seems that my gearbox level goes down and pump level is rising. Common sense would suggest I need to replace seal between box and pump ..right?? Cheers
How much extra is considered to much? Mine was at the top of the sight glass. (just bought it used) I'm on my way to get the mineral spirts now to flush it.
Long time subscriber. Oilfield mechanic here. I have the same weather related 80/90 lube oil emulation… we installed desiccant vent/breather on equipment….is that an option for pressure washer pumps?? Love the education your channel shares keep it coming. Happy New Year to you & yours
I just have a BE 4000 psi and Noticed the PUMP Oil if Yellow Foam, and I SEE the Oil is leaking and a little has Come Out Under the Value? What is that possible from?

This was a good video. It took me 2 years after I started operating to learn this from a small engine mechanic. Now I change my oil for frequently.
Whew! Thanks for the peace of mind!
Thank you!
Good to know. Thanks for the info. 😎👍
Big Tony!

Thanks guys that info was a lot help
The sight glass for the oil on my motorcycle gets white every winter. Then in the spring time it disappears. I change the oil every 1500 miles or less
Holy crap ots the humidity?!!! Learned something new here
Is there a chance of the water pump sending water into the gearbox through a faulty shaft seal?
True story... I recently bought and returned 4 pressure washers (all Honda) because when I pulled them from the box they had this exact problem.
BTW, is pump oil same as air compressor oil?
How about when the oil is leaking milky at the same time?
And what if you have alot of water in oil without running the oressure washer but i did have it hooked up couldnt get it to crank
What if the oil level goes above the full line and turns white does that mean the seals are bad ?
Is there any type of filter or anything that needs to be changed with the pump oil?
Can you tell me I have oil in the gearbox but the pump is fine

how often under normal operation should you change the pump, gear, and engine oil?
Engine is recommended at 50 hr intervals
I change them all at the same time
Great video…Thanks

Good informative video, what pump oil do you use or recommend.
We use cat pump oil but that’s just because it’s available locally
Is there a way to clean the sight glass for oil level on pump with out taking off shaft?
You just saved me from a gremlin I never would've thunk!
My mower does it. It sucks but ya just change oil and your good
Great video

Yes you could do that.

Did you figure that out ? Having the same problem

He really is.
I love a SmE!
@@southeastsoftwash4020 yeah no doubt, he is. Yeah I love a SmE too. Just makes us all better bro!
Oil is milky in sight glass, loss of pressure.. comet zwd 4040 pump, should I replace seals or just try to purchase a new pump?
Probably can change seals out
Good stuff 👏
🙏
Awsome vid
Great video. Are you going to teach “ common sense “?
Probably not possible lol
