I know, I grew up watching The Twilight zone at a very young age. My parents thought this one was too adult and on too late. I guess I never knew about this TV show that was before or about the same time. So great these films survived.
Udui1o1 my sister was born in 1963 and watches old stuff all the time and has never heard of this show until she stumbled across it a few days ago. Now she’s been sending me the links to watch I was born in 1970 and certainly never had heard of it. I’ve never been into watching old shows but I really like these.
Having had over 30 premonitions in my life that came true, I am convinced that there is indeed a 4th dimension. I watched this series as a child, and at 67 I still believe in this. Studies of identical twins separated at birth done in the 1970's bear this out. Anyone who dismisses these realities are not open to thinking "outside of the box".
I'm sorry but your anecdotal stories do not count as data or evidence. There is no proof of any "4th dimension" nor has anyone ever came remotely close to proving the supernatural exists. If you can prove it, you'd win a Nobel prize plus one million dollars so you should publish and submit your findings for peer review if you really think there's some truth to your claim.
I've probably only seen this series 3 or 4 times in my life. Until watching this episode as an adult, self-quarantined and UA-cam-and-chill -ing, I equated One Step Beyond with Twilight Zone. Now I have discovered a new respect for One Step. The 'scientific' accuracy of The Trap exactly tallied with what I had already 'known' about twinning. It makes me eager to continue watching.
whoa this one got me a little choked up at the end haha I love when the dr said " I think I've been a doctor too long. Ive never felt hopeless like this before". It was a pretty earnest acting job yet the delivery made me chuckle along w/some of his other lines and delivery. Good fun episode!
I first saw this program at 11, in Havana, Cuba, dubbed in Spanish. Ive always loved these kinds of things. My grandmother had many incidents of psychic phenomena. Several people in my fathers side also had strange experiences as did I. Now I understand all these things. Not a mystery any more.
This is probably the creepiest episode of the show so far. I'm really starting to get into them even though I didn't understand the premise of the show right away. I thought it was supposed to be like The Twilight Zone.
This is the Best One Step Beyond episode that I have ever seen out of the Series!.... I thoroughly enjoyed the Scientific explanations about Identical Twins!... I believe that it is True and Fascinating!..... Peace Love and "LIGHT" 2 All!...
He was hysterical in War with the Army with Martin and Lewis. Check him out in The Incident as henpecked spouse. Great movie with some actors: Sheen, Musante, Peters, Dee, Bridges, and others.
This is one of the best episodes of this series. Ive seen it quite a few times. I first saw this show at age 11, in Cuba, in 1958. It was the first episode, although I dint know it until a few years ago. It's called The Bride Possessed. Based on a true story, like this one.
Mike Kellin - was one of my favorites as a kid. it is so great to see all the actors i used to know - things are so different now - i miss this kind of tv. even then i liked the guys a lot. the one name i remember who was a woman was Nina Foch, used to see her a lot. others - i don't remember their names. Eve Arden, but she was a comedian - different milieu. . . anyone remember Mr. Peepers, Wally Cox :} jeez, am i dating myself, but i don't care. i wouldn't give up my childhood memories for anything.
As long as we're talking about paranormal/sci-fi/fantasy tv shows, Nina Foch was sensational in one of my very favorite 1960s Outer Limits episodes, "Borderland" - highly recommended!
The actor Mike Kellin was in a few films and TV shows I remember as a kid - "Hell Is for Heroes" (WWII drama) the Martin & Lewis "At War with the Army" and on an episode of Combat!. His face was instantly recognizable. One of the many great character actors from that era, and a very good one. He had a long career, too. My Pop used to let me watch this show, Outer Limits, and Twilight Zone. It was okay if you had a parent there - in case you got scared!
Oh my god, I had to check at about the 17 minute mark that I wasn't watching a movie, there are still great shows out there today being made but wow. I was genuinely entrapped in the plot, wondering what will happen next, again, wow.
What a great story! Believe it or not, I've had some personal experiences dealing with the paranormal, as well. They're just too long to mention. And yes, great TV is a thing of the past!
These stories are mostly fictional. When researching them, I've found few that even had a basis in reality. The rest were greatly exaggerated. Nevertheless, they are well scripted and acted, which seems to be the hallmark of many old half-hour drama series. Regarding your comment about paying attention to "paranormal experiences", I presume you are including dreams and premonitions. My degrees are in psychology, and I have yet to see any well constructed experiment that demonstrated the presence of paranormal occurrences such as telekinesis, levitation, or mind reading. I have seen anecdotal evidence of premonition, but that is difficult to qualify or quantify. I will add that just because someone has a premonition of impending doom, that does not necessitate such an outcome is a forgone conclusion. My wife had one about me the night before a great tragedy struck. She even begged me to stay home from work that day, but did not tell me why. I delayed going in for an hour, but finally left anyway. Shortly after I arrived at my office, all hell broke loose. The date was 11 September 2001, and my office was in the Pentagon. I survived unscathed, but when I returned home that evening she finally told me that her reason for having insisted I stay home was because she'd had a nightmare of me being trapped in a fire at work. Whether it was merely coincidence or a premonition, I now insist she immediately tell me about any bad dreams she has. No sense in taking chances!
Thank you, PizzaFlix! I LOVED and feared One Step Beyond! The music is so beautiful and haunting! Warm, loving and awe-filled memories from my childhood! Bless you!
This actor, Mike Kellin, also played in a great Twilight Zone episode about a sunken WWII submarine where he was the only survivor & his long dead crew mates haunted him many years later when his new ship passed above his old sunken sub. It also starred Simon Oakland and Bill Bixby. I won't give away the ending.
I knew I had seen that face! And now that you just said his name I realize that he's the artist of a pretty good folk album from the mid 60s that I have.
@@herrp8765 hey, if you've seen em all- is there 1 about a dude that puts an earwig in another dudes ear? My mom swears it exists. If not this, maybe Twilight Zone or Outer Limits?
Really good, scary video, as is typical of One Step Beyond. After watching it, I kept pondering the psychic connections between identical twins. I was really worried for the husband. Good thing the doctor became open-minded enough to make that long-distance call to a lawyer. Great ending, with both the husband and his unknown twin brother saved.
I remember a time, when people praying and church scenes, were shown in movies and television films, not like today. The combined prayers, of both the priest and the wife, were the powerful force that saved Dominic, in the end. It was good that the priest while praying, was listening to Dominic's utterances and interpreted his changed accent. His reporting to the doctor and Florence (Dominic's wife), caused the doctor to be a possibility thinker, and follow up with a phone call to the lawyer.
Despite being born in 1951, I'd never heard of this before (not sure if it was ever shown in UK). This is first episode watched & I'll now watch more. Interesting story (which I never guessed) & superb acting.
Hi. I was also born in 1951, in the US. But I didn't watch these shows when I was a kid for some reason, maybe because my parents thought I was too young. I have only watched about 10 so far on this channel, really enjoying them.
My nickname among my friends, for years has been "La Triviata", a loving homage to my keen eye for character actors. It's always been a kind of hobby. Now, I cannot TELL you how many buds will call up, and like, maybe...they are in a bar, and the tv is playing a movie..they'll say, "Cindy, quick, put on channel 11..this old black and white movie, I have seen that guy..what's his name?" And I will shoot back, "Yeah, that's...Walter Burke - character actor made many films, did the murder in NAKED CITY, and also was Willie Stark's driver in ALL THE KING'S MEN, the 1949 Broderick Crawford version.." I'd hear the person on the phone go..."Yayyy!!" Mucho free beers all round. Trivia don't cha, love it!
Cynthia Hawkins Cynthia, that's a wonderful gift you have there! To be able to retain that knowledge can be a great comfort to the inquizitive mind. Many times i've struggled to remember the name of an actor that has appeared in many films but never attained a "star" status. It IS, as you have noted, a handy ability to have when others are trying to recall that which is on the edge of the mind but just can't seem to remember. This episode of "One Step Beyond" was very gratifiing because the ending resolved itself in a believable phenominon that we've all seen but never really questioned. Identical TWINS!

THIS has always been one of The More Remarkable 'episodes' of OSB, and one that certainly "begs" for further study of such thoroughly documented phenomena!! In fact, I'm rather amazed that this series has not been 'revived', since the sheer quantity of psychic phenomena that must have also been documented over the past 60 years since OSB originally aired must be enormous.….... BIG THX Pizza Flix.
This series is so unlike Twilight Zone that they really cannot be compared. Here as dramatized by Newland and his staff, was a riveting real-life incident of which otherwise without, we would not and could not have known. Not only were we entertained darkly, but also made as newly informed. Both Newland and Serling were supremely fine creators and presenters. I really would not ever desire to handicap either in supposed competition, such being pointless utterly in my view. What certainly is not pointless however, is thanking our PizzaFlix Guy for making sixty-nine of these wonderful OSB episodes, available to our notice.

The days of real teeth, clean, white and as they should be. It does make for realism in the movies and that makes movies much more interesting! Life. Every one is cloned to look the same in movies and TV. Have they all flipped their lids??
***** How can you not notice teeth are blindingly white and perfect, in movies set in the early 1900's, the Sherlock Holmes movies, etc? We're from different generations. mine wz realistic it included lsd
@Robert Gardea Most older film depict natural teeth; sometimes with spaces, missing teeth and crooked. Teeth were not the big deal they are in todays world. Lots of people had imperfect teeth.
lol all these years later and the twilight zone still hit the spot for making you think.. old as this episode is its my first time seeing it and it was good lol.
Ruth Storey is not that well known. More's the pity...But she has a touching little scene, during the AA meeting, in the Susan Hayward film I'LL CRY TOMORROW. Any 'friends of Bill W.' will also identify..
Wow! I don't remember this episode! Mike Kellin, 37 years old here, gets to act against type and it's a real treat. Merwin Gerard and Larry Marcus wrote this as they did many other episodes (and other TV shows too.) "Edna Gibbs" was played by Jeanne Bates, a very busy actress who worked on many television shows in addition to three episodes of OTB. Her best known recurring roles were "Nurse Willis" on "Ben Casey" and "Anne Peters" on "Days of Our Lives."
Very interesting indeed. This was the first result of my search for this show, I suppose the premise is that something supernatural happens, something that confuses the watcher and makes him think, then, a gentleman explains what happens.
I think the scariest part about this is the lackadaisical way everyone in this including the doctor treated what presented as a very serious medical emergency! If someone is having bouts of headache, fever, thirst, can't breathe AND violent halucinations they should be in an ambulance asap!
I had completely forgotten about this series from the sixties but it's quite good. Ironically, I am reading a book The Genius in All of Us by David Shenk and he goes into the theories and evidence of identical twins and unusal consequences.

Now she’s been sending me the links to watch I was born in 1970 and certainly never had heard of it. I’ve never been into watching old shows but I really like these.
@@RameyRocks only 96 esp across 2 seasons. That the producters thought they could go head to head with Rod, showed their stupidity.
Much better than today's indoctrinating crap
Wow!
Sheesh Bussin moment
I'll bet you're single. For a long time. Geez
@@billlittle4247- LOL! I've been married for 36 years.
Paula Pacente...you are SO CORRECT
The episodes are based on 'true' events, at least hearsay, on OSB.
Wonderful story, fabulous acting, worth watching.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you!
This is the Best One Step Beyond episode that I have ever seen out of the Series!.... I thoroughly enjoyed the Scientific explanations about Identical Twins!... I believe that it is True and Fascinating!..... Peace Love and "LIGHT" 2 All!...
Mike Kellin was a fine character actor indeed!
He was also in an extended Twilight Zone ep as an emotional over the top sailor.
Actor who was in The Wackiest Ship of the Army...
He was hysterical in War with the Army with Martin and Lewis.
Check him out in The Incident as henpecked spouse. Great movie with some actors: Sheen, Musante, Peters, Dee, Bridges, and others.
@@MsBackstager I'm fully aware of all of Mikes 'performances - thanks for your post!!

I dont think he was acting. I think it was side effects from the covid Poison jab
😂......huh???!!!
Nice
I love these movies! This is good television, not the inappropriate trash of today!
Well said.
What an absolute terrifying and terrific episode, new favorite
Top Notch producing, writing, acting, and the coolest music!
This is one of the best episodes of this series. Ive seen it quite a few times. I first saw this show at age 11, in Cuba, in 1958. It was the first episode, although I dint know it until a few years ago. It's called The Bride Possessed. Based on a true story, like this one.
Mike Kellin - was one of my favorites as a kid. it is so great to see all the actors i used to know -
things are so different now - i miss this kind of tv. even then i liked the guys a lot. the one name i remember who was a woman was Nina Foch, used to see her a lot. others - i don't remember their names.
Alexa Penn You named some outstanding actors.
The best show I have seen for a while. And it was absoutely FREE.
The spooky music at the first part of the episodes sets the tone of the episodes
Thanks for watching PizzaFLIX. May the Sauce be with you.
That was a really great show 👏🏾🤗🎥🎭 🙋🏽
Billie Wilson Good taste Billie, I like your style 🤗👍👍
What a great story! Believe it or not, I've had some personal experiences dealing with the paranormal, as well. They're just too long to mention. And yes, great TV is a thing of the past!
Carlos - I too had some paranormal experiences which I cannot explain except that one should listen and pay attention because it can save our lives.
I have had some, too. : )
Hmmm, the way he was screaming, I would've thought she'd run in the room.
Her understated reactions to his sudden psychotic behaviour were the only weak part of this episode. Everything else was spot-on.
What good friends he had. To take a look at what is happening with him and follow through.
Twilight Zone ranks very high with our family. Seen every ep multiple times. Never gets old. All the actors are in their prime.
A fabulous episode
I knew I had seen that face! And now that you just said his name I realize that he's the artist of a pretty good folk album from the mid 60s that I have.
@@herrp8765 hey, if you've seen em all- is there 1 about a dude that puts an earwig in another dudes ear?

If not this, maybe Twilight Zone or Outer Limits?
@@rockarollawmn Hi. Sorry, what's an earwig? In the Twilight Zone? Hmmm...
Best one I've watched!! Thanks for posting!
I have been addicted to Alfred Hitchcock lately and these popped up yeyyy something old but new for me to watch very entertaining
cool. Great TV is a thing of the past
past TV is a great thing.
That's wonderful Michael Kellin, terrific character actor. And the lady is Ruth Storey, also wonderful, ex wife of Richard Conte.
Thank You....
Cynthia Hawkins WOW that's so Cool to know cuz over here I'm known as "the Encyclopedia" 😊 how I wish more folks like you would live around here where I'm at, anyway Kudos to you "La Triviata" 👍👍🤗

Just discovered this show. OMG, love it 🥰

How do you get out of that?
That actor is quite something! When he first screamed, I nearly levitated!
Hi James 🍕Thanks for your eloquent review. May the Sauce be with you.🍕
I love this series. There's something about the tune...I just love it. Every time I hear it, it seems soothing...🌹
This show always freaked me out in the early 60s as a kid and the spooky music was the icing on that cake! I never watched it alone....... ;-)
I was 14- 15 when I watched these programs...they still give me a chill
I was looking for "The Twilight Zone", and found this instead. I loved every second of it! Very interesting!
Fascinating! It never occurred to me that he had a twin that he was not aware of.
These all seem to have a great twist we didn't see coming.
A great twist makes a great story.
It never occurs to me that someone will feel the need to ruin the episode by disclosing the damn twist!
yeah I was thinking he was having some kind of past life experience or something. Not twins, Great twist to the ending and facinating discourse. I love how these shows are based on real reported phenomenon. Ive soon a few current videos on true stories of unusual twin connections.
I think his wife didn’t know he had a twin either?

That guy Mike Kellin (1922-1983) was Billy Hayes father in the movie Midnight Express.
TSM, I can see how the casting would have worked. There are physical similarities between him and Brad Davis. Occasionally, however, such as in the elevator scene, he reminds me of Burt Lahr.
OMG - you remember Billy Hayes!!! i had such a crush on him as a young kid - he was a singer on the show which had the same performers singing the hit songs when Sid Caesar's Show of Shows was on. i think Peggy Lee was on that show, too. Oh yeah!!! Your Hit Parade.

Here in '24, I'm 80 and must have missed this one in '60 due to 11th grade, the family business, and my beautiful girl. We married 3 years later and she passed in '17. The grief is unending, and we did have a wonderful life of love, family, careers, travel, and memories. But no experience like these people, thank God. Tom TGP

superior to the nonsense that passes for entertainment nowadays.
I’m 66 and live in the UK and found these shows quite accidentally! I love them! Slowly watching all the episodes. As a youngster I collected the Pan books of horror short stories and loved those too, some have been made into TV shows quite successfully.

The days of real teeth, clean, white and as they should be. It does make for realism in the movies and that makes movies much more interesting! Life. Every one is cloned to look the same in movies and TV. Have they all flipped their lids??
***** I dunno I don't remember. I always notice the realism of teeth in flicks other than todays' flicks
***** How can you not notice teeth are blindingly white and perfect, in movies set in the early 1900's, the Sherlock Holmes movies, etc? We're from different generations. mine wz realistic it included lsd
Lizzzzie my dentist is called Phil Ma Cavity from Dublin.
I think the teeth are clean and white. Just not real.
@Robert Gardea Most older film depict natural teeth; sometimes with spaces, missing teeth and crooked. Teeth were not the big deal they are in todays world. Lots of people had imperfect teeth.
In my ELA class we did a play on this and I got the honor of being the narrator😌
lol all these years later and the twilight zone still hit the spot for making you think.. old as this episode is its my first time seeing it and it was good lol.
Good story and acting. Wasn't expecting that ending!
I wasn't sitting in my chair watching this. I was sitting in the unknown.

Very interesting indeed. This was the first result of my search for this show, I suppose the premise is that something supernatural happens, something that confuses the watcher and makes him think, then, a gentleman explains what happens.
Based on true stories
I'm sure I fell to sleep watching this every time as a child. What I remember is the theme music. Nostalgic for that reason.
Classic TV in an era of great writing and acting.
Wow...what a great plot! Loved it.
I think the scariest part about this is the lackadaisical way everyone in this including the doctor treated what presented as a very serious medical emergency! If someone is having bouts of headache, fever, thirst, can't breathe AND violent halucinations they should be in an ambulance asap!
But then there"d be no plot.
I had completely forgotten about this series from the sixties but it's quite good. Ironically, I am reading a book The Genius in All of Us by David Shenk and he goes into the theories and evidence of identical twins and unusal consequences.
