I’m not sure how I missed this when it came out. This is a super interesting video. I own a 50-year-old family GLASS business and have been considering the idea of trade shows. Not to increase the amount of work but to shift the types of jobs people come to us asking for. Right now we do a lot of small jobs and window repairs but my goal is to expand the business into larger new installations of curtainwall & glass facade systems. Honestly this video inspires me. Appreciate you sharing

Interesting video Ryan. I’m not in the business, nor will I ever be in the business. I’m an airline worker for 38 years in Indy and absolutely love this channel. I think it’s great how you are teaching the specifics to running a small business. So unselfish on your part. This messed up world needs so many more Ryan’s in it right now.

I know this video is 5 months old but I go to shows as well and I agree with everything you say if my product is set up perfect it will sell itself you do not need to force yourself on the customer they will buy. I just done a show in TX and that worked for me.
This is very interesting to me because it's the meat and potatoes of a successful business. I feel like if a business is going to take time to attend stuff like this then they are most likely passionate about the work they do. Not just weekend warriors out trying to make an extra dollar on the side. Thanks for bringing us along as always.

I’ve actually helped him on his booth twice and trust me when I say this, you will get a lot of business! You should see the amount of ppl that already know him and are retuning clients.

Wow that booth looks fantastic thanks for sharing some tips about setting up at a home show 🙏this made me think of the time I worked around the clock building a really nice pergola for my friends booth I thought I would get a lot of interested people haha not so much but I ended up selling it to one of my repeat customers who is a friend of mine now I’m thinking I should have kept it to use at the local home shows guess I better make another

It doesn’t matter what business your in or what product you have to sell. Home shows, like this one, are an excellent tool to use to your advantage. I did many home and builder shows with my dad for his business for 20+ years and it was always a valuable resource. And he’s an artist selling and producing his own artwork. But, you do get to meet some very interesting people though 😂

Neighbor of mine sold and installed satellite dishes when they first started to hit the market. We helped in the booth. Most of the time it was more educating the public about the logistics than selling.

Nice set up 3500 to 4500 for 7 days. I think it worth every penny. Just think about all the leads that produces just 2 jobs and it’s paid for but if you get that big job now it’s even better. I do lawn and landscaping trying to do more outdoor lighting this year will be the start of it. 💪💪💪

On the aggressive salesman thing you're 100% right, its so disingenuous feeling for people to come at your and "Hey how are you today can i interest you in etc etc." that turns me off to the product instantly.

I'm a Realtor in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and I do trade shows all the time to market myself. Mine are usually Baby Show tradeshows because I can market myself to new families or ones that are expanding. I've done home shows but theres usually like 4 other Realtors there so I have to compete lol

Home shows can get you atleast 30-50 new Leeds you rock man!
I have gotten up to 200 in one show.
Now that's great return on all the set up.
200 wow in a week or a weekend that is impressive.

Keep an eye at Home Depot's tool rental section online. They sell the tools from time to time. You might be able to get a jack hammer for fairly cheap.
